Back Your Boat Into Center Hill Lake From Our Home! Swim, Fish, Hunt, Relax!

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,500 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

One of very few homes right next to the water of Center Hill Lake! Beds for 12

We would love to share our beautiful home on Center Hill Lake with you and your family! It is very unique in that it is one of only a few homes on the lake located on the water. You can, literally, back your boat from the house right into the water. While spending the day out boating you can drop off anyone who needs a rest at the house and then pick them back up with ease. It is a 50 yard paved walk to the boat launch!

The home is two levels. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, but has beds for 12. The upstairs has a covered back porch for easy parking and handicap access. You can actually access both the upstairs of the home and the downstairs without using stairs if needed.

The kitchen has modern appliances and is fully stocked with dishes, utensils and amenities, including microwave, blender, coffer maker, crock pot and griddle. There is a large dining room table and smaller side table if you need more seating.

The upstairs family room has a 50 inch HD TV and DVD player with DISH cable, including ESPN. There is plenty of seating for large groups and a selection of DVDs and board games for the family.

There is spacious front porch that runs the length of the home and is accessed through two separate, beautiful sliding doors. There is a large amount of outdoor seating for watching all the wildlife and a large gas grill.

On the lower level you can play games on the ping pong table or separate pool table, or watch games on the 50 inch HD TV in the downstairs family room!

There is also a laundry room with washer and dryer.

Have fun in the large front yard playing ball or picking apples from one of the 3 apple trees that bear fruit in mid to late summer. You can also enjoy a fire out under the stars and roasting smores in the fire pit near the house. There is also a canoe to carry down to the water to quietly explore the lake!

We are located just 15 minutes from I-40 by car. It is just under an hour to Nashville International Airport and is a very easy drive. We are 15 minutes from the town of Cookeville, where Tennessee Tech is located. There is every restaurant you can imagine, along with movie theaters, bowling alley and roller skating in case you have a rainy day. We are less than 10 minutes by car from Cookeville Boat Dock Marina. By boat, we are less than 10 minutes from Hurricane Marina and are located right at the entrance to Mine Like Creek - famous for its wakeboarding and water skiing conditions.

Whether you are just wanting to have a large place for several families to meet, a place right on the water with easy access for boating, a mile of walkable shoreline for exploring and fishing, or thousands of acres of adjacent US Corp of Engineers property for hunting, we think you will have a great time at our home!

Review for Baxter, TN Red roof house

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family just spent the last 2 days at the above listed home. The home owners provided a very warm and inviting place. Our purpose to rent was to have our family (5 grandchildren and our two sons with their wives) in the same place for Christmas. The owner provided us with a decorated Christmas tree!!! The pool table and ping pong table were a BIG hit with the grandchildren. Our sons and their wives took the canoe out for a spin, even though the weather was cold. We loved the peace and quiet. You can truly get away from it all at this place. Everything you need is provided. Just bring your clothes and food. The home was very clean when we arrived. We all had a great time and made some great holiday memories.

We had a great stay! The house was easy to find, VERY clean! Everything was “as advertised.”

The kids enjoyed the pool table and ping pong. We were a little disappointed when the canoe wasn’t in good working condition, but the property owner said he was going to address this. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything I needed, even a crock pot! It would have been great if there were some throw blankets for the comfy couches. There is not a direct view of the water from the porch, but it is a VERY short walk to the water. All of the beds were very comfortable as well. A unique feature to the house is the lack of stairs to take you to the downstairs. There are a few steps, but most of it is a ramp to take you from the lower to upper level. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends and family.

Nice place, clean, close to the water. Don't really have a water view. Tim was easy to get along with. Glad I rented the house.

Perfect in all ways!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend with another family and had a few other friends and family come out to visit us during the day. This house, yard, and access to the boat launch and lake were perfect for what we needed and wanted. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. There are plenty of sheets and towels. Everything appeared clean, and we felt comfortable just enjoying ourselves. Thank you, Myers Family!

So much fun packed into a weekend!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here in Aug 2017 and it was perfect for our family. We had a total of 12 people, 8 adults and 4 kids. And had room to spare without having to break out the air mattress that we brought "just in case".

I love to write reviews, so this might get lengthy. Here we go ...

1. This place is very clean. Even my OCD clean freak mother was satisfied, and that's saying a lot. Ha ha.

2. Tastefully decorated throughout.

3. The main floor has new oil rubbed bronze faucets in the kitchen and bath.

4. The upstairs side kitchen table has a game rack with board games. And the upstairs TV cabinet had a ton of DVDs that made the kids excited.

5. The front porch is to die for. All of the women sat out there until midnight or later just talking about life.

6. The pool table is nice. We played for hours. The table sags a bit in the middle and the balls would group together at times. We just laughed and accepted the challenge.

7. There is a Ping Pong Table that the kids had a blast playing each other. The far end of table is a bit wobbly, so be careful and don't lean on it.

8. You can walk to the lake. About 5 minutes down the hill.

1.Not "on the lake" per se, and that was really disappointing. It is the last house right before the lake. The trees from the adjacent lot completely block the entire view. I am sure it is not their property so they can't cut the trees. But man, those trees are holding back so much and I am sure it will only get thicker.

4. This is nothing that the owner or anyone for that matter could have controlled. But in the evening, the crowd at the lake seemed to get a little "rougher". There was a pickup truck blasting rap music one day and then two bikers came by and parked at the shoreline. The woman squatted and peed right in front of everyone. Stay Classy.

4. The design for the stairs is very odd. It has a step down from the top, a ramp that has a steep incline, and then immediately has another ramp going down following the wall, with the stairs at the bottom. I would slide on the first ramp going down and it grossed me out. LOL You know, like fingernails on a chalkboard? Yeah that was on my feet. LOL

5. There isn't a dock for the boat, and since we couldn't see the lake from the house, we had to load our kayaks up each time.

Now I am just nit-picking. I don't have anything bad to say about it. I loved this house.

Thank you Myers family for letting us make memories in your lake home

Fantastic getaway!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a vacation our kids won't forget. The house is amazing and a 37 second walk down the hill to the lake. It has everything we needed for the parents and the kids (we had 4 kids in our group, a 2 year, 3 year, 4 year and 5 year old) They absolutely loved the place. Very near a good amount of attractions but honestly we kept to the house and rented a boat and equipment from Hurricane Marina. the house is super clean and the downstairs game area keeps the kids entertained. the only concern we had and this is only because of the small kids is the ramp to go downstairs has railings that are far apart where my 2 year old could get between. We had no issues but did need to supervise because of how little the kids are. other than that I have nothing but great things to say. The owner was extremely helpful and available. Oh, I saw a few reviews about the location and proximity to other house and it never bothered any of us. the neighbors were extremely friendly when we did see them but for the most part it was very private. And before I forget the balcony is huge and gives you another whole area outside. Thank you again Tim!!!!

About Tim Myers

We are a family from middle Tennessee who fell in love with Center Hill Lake when we moved here 15 years ago.

Tim Myers purchased this house in 2004

Why Tim Myers chose Baxter

We love how Center Hill Lake has such a pristine shoreline with no docks and it just feels like you are out on a "mountain lake", but we wanted the function of being able to just be able to put the boat right in the water from our place and not have to drive to a marina. It took years of looking, but this setup was worth it.
