About Tom Goodman
Robert and Shirley Goodman (now deceased) envisioned a place where families could come together under one roof and fan or rekindle the flames that unit families. Aided by their partner, Ed Geiger, the Family Lodge is the realization of that vision. The five surviving children of Robert and Shirley Goodman are working to keep that vision alive. The Family Lodge is indeed a place to turns the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers.

Breathtaking, serene, PERFECT!
This home had unbeatable views, indescribable peacefulness, and plenty of room for all our guests. Everything in the kitchen was labeled and laid out so practically which made meal prep and cleanup so easy and smooth. The hosts went above and beyond with their hospitality and responsiveness. We were holding a retreat for breast cancer survivors and the deck was perfect for morning and evening yoga. We never had a shortage of anything - plenty of parking - EVERYTHING! It made facilitation of this event so smooth and stress-free. Cannot recommend enough!
We had a super family vacation!
We loved the cabin and all the space that was available. Kids playing in the game room we’re not heard up one level in the great room. The kitchen is roomy and was perfect for meal preparation , especially for a large group. The dining room table was awesome. Our family was in awe of the entire cabin.
We also loved the four wheeling trails that were so close and the kids love going down to the creek in the next valley. We also enjoyed the Forsyth Canyon Trail, which is very close.
All in all, we created wonderful memories and loved our family vacation all together in one place.
Incredible! Great warm, family feel with plenty to do. I can't recommend this location enough!
We rented out the cabin for a three-day weekend retreat for 50 college-aged students. With the help of some air mattresses, we were able to fit everyone snuggly. The amenities are nothing less than superb. From kitchen appliances to all the games and fun activities provided, you won't ever experience boredom at this cabin. Additionally, the beautiful landscape that surrounds the property is nothin by refreshing and a delight to behold. Furthermore, at night time you are treated to an incredible view of a clear, star-filled sky.
If you're looking to host a family getaway or some sort of retreat, do not overlook this venue! You will not regret your choice.
After many years of trying to coordinate a destination Christmas for our family of 7 children and 12 grandchildren, we finally made it happen at The Family Lodge.
The pictures just didn't do this place justice. It was so clean and well cared for. Everyone commented on how it was even bigger than they imagined it would be, but carried such a cozy feel about it. We never felt like we were on top of each other and with 26 people in one home together for a week you would expect there to be a little bit of stir crazy, but it never happened.
The beds were honestly the most comfortable beds we have every used away from home, even the pillows were like a dream. (I always travel with my own, but found myself using the one on the bed each night!)
The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make our meals and there was plenty of room for the food in the pantry and the refrigerators.
I could write for ever just saying how wonderful this stay was, but you should just rent it next to see!
Oh and thank you Mike for being on hand the couple time times we had a question. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with you.
Best Christmas to date for a very large family wanting to be together... not so together!

Getting families together... that's why its the Family Lodge. It can be a real challenge, but worth every effort. We are happy to provide a great space to make it happen.
Thank you for letting everyone know about your experience.
Perfect gathering spot for a large, active family.
This beautiful and spacious property was perfect for our family Thanksgiving gathering of 24. The interiors are just as beautiful as the exterior, and the log construction of the home extra special. Can't think of one thing we needed or wanted that wasn't available to us. The kitchen was ideal (light, bright, and very roomy) for cooking Thanksgiving dinner with our five adult daughters. Couldn't have been better for that. There was dinner seating for all of us, 14 at a very unique wood slab table surrounded by natural log dining chairs. All 24 of us were able to gather in the great room for visiting, games, jigsaw puzzles and resting in front of the fire. The parking is capacious out in front and all the 12 grandchildren (ages 7-20) loved shooting baskets outside and playing ping pong, pool, and foosball in the basement game room. The basement bedrooms were perfect for 6 granddaughters on one side with a 2-sink, 2-shower, and enclosed water closet bathroom, and the other side was great for the boys, with a full bathroom. The historic church down the street was interesting to visit and we played capture the flag at a park down the street and took a long walk in town. The scenery is open and attractive, and there is easy access to St. George (where we visited the Red Hills Desert Gardens and Slot Canyon before lunch downtown), Hurricane ( where we took in the family movie "Wonder"), and hiked the petrified dunes nearby in Snow Canyon. All in all, it was a memorable 4 days for our family!! We would definitely gather at the Pine Valley Family Lodge again!
Our home is but a house until families like Steve's bring it to life. Every story fills our hearts with all that is right and good.
Steve, thank you for sharing your experience at the Family Lodge.
