The Hidden Jewel at OIB offers a beautiful tropical setting with 10 palm trees, flowering Oleanders, and a 26’x12’ salt water pool where you can rest and relax after a long day at the beach. This is a 5BR/4BA, 2100 sq ft property that comfortably accommodates 2 or even 3 families; maximum occupancy of 15. The location is 3rd row equivalent and perfectly set on a tranquil beach access street in a quiet neighborhood on the west end of OIB. It’s only 200 feet and a two minute walk to beach access and the wide beaches of the west end. Stairs have been removed from beach access for easier access in 2015. Free Tesla / EV NEMA 14-50 charging for guests.

You'll get some ocean views from the front deck, the covered porch off the master suite, and from the upstairs hallway loft. You will love the spacious fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, tile back splash, tile floors, stainless steel appliances, and new fixtures. The dining room area off the kitchen seats 9 with additional seating for 4 at the kitchen island bar top. Or you may choose to have a meal on the screened porch off the dining area where there is a table and seating for 4. The large open living room with cathedral ceiling includes a 60” 1080p HD flat panel TV with Blu-ray DVD. There are ceiling fans and wall mounted flat screen HD TV’s with digital cable in every bedroom including a Blu-ray DVR in the kid's bunk room.

Enjoy your evenings on the rocking chairs on the covered porch overlooking the pool and palm trees. There’s also tons of space beneath the house to chill out, listen to the ocean, and catch the evening breeze while you cook the day’s catch at the outdoor gas grilling station. Also on the ground level, there's a large outdoor shower with changing area.

OIB offers some of the most beautiful beaches on on the east coast. The Hidden Jewel is 1 mile from the OIB pier where you will find Putt Putt, Surf Shops, Ice Cream, Restaurants, and more.

About Troy & Annette Weeks

We are a family of 5 from Wake Forest, NC that's been traveling to the North and South Carolina coast for vacation for longer than we can remember. I work in technology sales and my incredible wife does absolutely everything it takes to make this family go. Our children are 12 boy, 10 girl, and 5 girl. Like most families, we are busy with work and our kid's activities, but we still do our best to create OIB memories every chance we get.

There's something very special about driving over the intracoastal waterway and the Odell Williamson OIB bridge that makes all your troubles go away. Our family decided to settle at OIB because of the family atmosphere, the beautiful beaches, and the wonderful people. We chose this property because it was large enough to accommodate our extended family of parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. The proximity to the beach was also a factor. We can walk out the door and have our feet in the sand in 2 minutes. This is great for morning walks on the beach or even searching for sand crabs at night, not to mention plopping down in a chair and watching the waves all day. We've already experienced wonderful times in just a short period of ownership and look forward to the many years and memories ahead. It just feels like home and we hope you feel the same way about it.

What makes this house unique

This house is perfect for 2 or even 3 families. The layout affords so much space in so many different areas and ways. It never seems to feel overly crowed even when we have a packed house with all our family visiting. The porches, the pool area, the large living room, and the area beneath the house allow you to get away and do your own thing if you choose too. The pool and quick beach access are perfect for the kids. There's Tesla / EV charging onsite for our guests. OIB is less than 3 hours from Raleigh and about 4 hours from Charlotte. We love the fact that it's only 30 minutes to N. Myrtle Beach and 45 minutes to Wilmington if we ever want to venture off the island for shopping or just a little something different. Still OIB meets all our needs. There are surf shops, restaurants, ice cream shops, Sunset Slush, and more. For the golfer, there are 100+ golf courses all along the NC and SC coast. Visit Ocean Isle Beach. You won't regret it.

Do not miss out on staying at this truly 'Hidden Jewel'!!!!

I have vacationed using VRBO for many years and have never written a review before - that is how positive my experience with this owner and house was!

So...we were a little late in booking our vacation this year (NC natives who recently moved to IL). We normally require oceanfront, or oceanside with a good view but definitely need a pool for our 5, 3 and 1 year old (and husband who can only take so much beach time!) so I was happy to find The Hidden Jewel available, even though I was slightly concerned about being more than one row from the ocean. I cannot emphasize enough what a PERFECT location this house is in. I felt like we were not more than second row - the handicapped beach ramp was INVALUABLE with small children and the loaded up beach wagon we had to tote each day. It was nice not to have all the traffic of the main road! The house itself - well I could just go on and on - stunning!! The decor, the cleanliness, the amenities, the bedroom set up, the abundance of bathrooms, the screened in porch and huge deck with super high ceiling that truly felt like a southern plantation, the amazing pool - like a tropical paradise!, etc etc. I was also so happy to find a baby gate, outlet plugs, numerous chairs stacked underneath the house for outdoor use (first owner I have seen to have so many!), hand soap in every bathroom, extra toilet paper - this owner CARES about your stay! I felt so at home here and that was the only bad part - I did not want to leave at all, ever! The owners were amazing - super responsive to every question, giving me recommendations on everything, they were patient and friendly and I'm so grateful to them for letting us use their beautiful house!! They truly own The Hidden Jewel of OIB! You are missing out if you do not stay in this house!!!

Being part of a large family that's spent a lot of time as vacation guests on the Carolina coast; we try our best to provide a property with the cleanliness and amenities that we'd expect ourselves. We have an amazing housekeeper that understands the importance of creating a positive first impression from the time you open and walk through the front door. As for the location, it was probably the biggest reason that we decided on this property for our OIB vacation home. We have young children too. Like you said, the street is quiet; the walk to the beach is short and easy with no stairs, and the pool is a great place to gather after a long day on the beach. Plain and simple, we just want you to feel at home. After all, it’s a time to relax and create memories with family and friends. We hope that you’ll choose to stay with us again.
