About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

ONLY 5 MINUTES TO BEACH! One of the least expensive private homes in Vero/Sebastian!

Stylish midcentury retro-modern decor! Remember when Florida was known as a semitropical paradise, a place to relish indoor-outdoor living, where your comfortable, casual vacation bungalow was designed to catch the breezes and stay cool even without air conditioning? Remember when palm trees swaying in the breeze at the water's edge were more of an attraction than mini-golf and T-shirt huts? Remember when beaches were peaceful and secluded, and you did not have to spend time searching for a private spot to lay down your beach towels?

So do we, and we are trying to preserve it. We've added air conditioning to our carefree vacation home (we admit it: sometimes you just have to have it), but otherwise, staying here is like a step back in time. If you are looking for a standardized, franchised, typical vacation setting, this is not for you. But if you would like to rediscover the best of Old-Florida living, our vacation bungalow is just the kind of place you are looking for.

Our non-smoking home features two comfortable bedrooms with separate living and dining areas. Casual and colorful furnishings lend a peaceful air to this quiet getaway. The charming nostalgic kitchen boasts the original retro-style cabinetry and vintage Formica countertops, still in fine condition. We have also updated this fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances for the best of old and new. The dining area is connected by sliding glass doors to a covered patio area where you can relax and enjoy the comfortable, natural Florida setting. A separate utility room includes a washer and dryer.

The master bedroom has a king bed, period Broyhill Brasilia furniture suite, HUGE closet, HDTV and ceiling fan. The guest room has two Heywood-Wakefield twin beds, dresser, closet, and ceiling fan.

We provide a couple of beach chairs and beach towels for your carefree vacation.

With the Indian River, Intracoastal Waterway, and Atlantic Ocean only minutes away, you will never run out of things to do here. But if you should tire of the peace and quiet, the attractions of Orlando are just an hour and a half away. Or tour the facilities of NASA's Cape Canaveral, an hour to the north. If you’re lucky enough to be here at the time of a space launch, watch the northeastern skies at launch time for a special treat.

Need more room than this bungalow offers? Only a few miles away are our Sebastian Riverfront Estate with pool, boat dock, and guest house; and our nearby riverside Florida cottage (see 'All My Rental Listings,' below). For an unforgettable time at your own 'Indian River Resort,' pool resources with your family or friends to rent several of our vacation homes!

If you’re looking for luxury accommodations, prepackaged predictability, or a gated resort that could be anywhere in the world - keep looking. But if you are like us and love the Florida that has enchanted out-of-town visitors for decades, spend a little time here. You will be glad you did.

Perfect for any reason!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a place for 3 months while transitioning to the area and Glenn came to our rescue. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in the front door. The home is exactly as pictured and Glenn was always available if we had any questions or needed anything. Btw, we didn't need a thing, because he has everything in his homes. He has more kitchen supplies than a restaurant and the sheets he has are super soft, plush towels, comfy furniture, a washer and dryer, and so on. Consider it your home away from home! All you need to bring is yourself and clothes and you are set. He also recommended a few restaurants and we frequented two of them quite often. (Aunt Louise's and Wasabi Thai Sushi) I literally gained 10lbs from all the great food. Thanks Glenn! LOL!

I would highly recommend Glenn's homes if you are spending time in the area. It was totally relaxing and a great memorable time that I will treasure. Just a note.... we stayed at 3 of Glenn's homes during our stay and I have left this review for all of them, because each is equally fantastic!

Perfect for our visit to relatives!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled from Atlanta with our rescue corgi to check up on older parents -- and the cottage was lovely and convenient. We appreciated the privacy and the lightly-traveled roads for walking the dog (especially down towards pond/lagoon area) -- it felt very safe. The kitchen is well appointed -- on our last night, we invited parents over for dinner and it was a nice change from restaurants. And the cottage is delightfully decorated -- got a few ideas! Very charming -- we'll likely return!

Old Florida at it's best !!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we landed in Florida we knew we were in good hands, we communicated with Glen per his request as soon as we landed . He met us at the property with a warm smile and a welcoming attitude. After giving us a quick tour and answering our questions, he left us to enjoy his home. We were very impressed, it's not only charming, but laid out well and very clean. We were immediately comfortable.

Glen's love of his homes and "old Florida " is seen in every room.We loved going through the house making note of all the fun decor and charming features. The house offered everything we needed as a "home base" with a great central location.

Our plans are to stay in one of Glen's properties in the future whenever we're in the area and will plan our vacations around his availability.

There is no better place

  • 5 of 5

First let me say the homeowner was the best. I felt if there was anything we needed he would be there for us. This house is located in the best location. 2.5 miles from the most pristine beaches in South Florida. We lived in West Palm Beach for 25 years and we really like this area for our vacation spot as we now live in Wisconsin. The house is set on a very private huge corner lot. It has everything you can image as far as amenities. Dishes galore with Fiesta ware. The homeowner has kept the 60's flare in his decor which makes everything that much more charming. Very tastefully done. It has a huge backyard that made it very comfortable for our dog and is very pet friendly. Bait shop 1/2 block from the house with land fishing on the Indian River (Intercostal) within a 1 minute drive from the house. I can't say enough things great about this house. Great restaurants within a short drive located between Sebastian and Vero Beach which gives you a great variety. Will definitely stay here again. Our only disappointed is that we have to leave.

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs stayed here for the month of November and found it very hard to leave! My sister, who lives in Vero found this place for us as its location is close to her house and store. Little did she know just how perfect this house was for us! It is so close to the intra coastal we walked or biked our dogs there every morning for a swim at the park! And the beautiful Wabasso beach is just a little further! The house has everything we needed! Just had to bring clothes! Stores are near by also and the neighborhood is so quite! We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a fantastic quite holiday! We will return again and again!
