Shipyard Condominiums are located in the prestigious gated community of Truman Annex in Key West’s old town area. The condos are located 2 blocks from Duval Street and all the Old Town Key West attractions. The properties are also ¼ mile from Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. The property is outfitted with washer/dryer, pots/pans, towels, linens, have central air conditioning, off street parking, and pool access. This corner second floor Shipyard Condo has big, beautiful French doors in the living room. They open onto both front and back balconies with views of the treetops and Old Town Key West. Away from it all has full amenities, including flat screen TV’s in the living room, both bedrooms and wireless internet access. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the guest bedroom has the option of 2 twins or a king size upon request. After a full day of taking in the island’s many wonderful experiences, come back to the comforts of home. The manicured landscaping, verdant palms, and white picket fences give the Shipyard and Truman Annex a lovely park atmosphere. All this tranquility makes it hard to imagine that Duval Street, Key West’s central artery of entertainment is only two blocks away. Both bedrooms do have flat screen TV's.

The location is very central and good. Unfortunately, the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors. During our stay there was construction going on downstairs so we can’t say it was a relaxing stay. The bed in the primary room needs to be replaced, it caves in the middle. The fire alarm continued to go off during showers. If these were fixed, then the stay at Away from it All would be accurately described in the property description.

Quiet Haven

This unit is perfect for people looking to explore Old Town Key West while having a quiet haven to return to at the end of the day. Walking to the middle of Duval Street takes only 5 minutes. Mallory Square and The Southernmost Point are less than a 20 minute walk.

Great place to stay

Nice place, easy walk to the pool and nearby restaurants and bars. Staff was very accommodating, we had an early flight and were allowed to check in early because our unit was already ready for us! We would recommend renting a golf cart or scooters to get to the beach and some other spots a little farther away. Parking is easy, we had a reserved spot.

Nice unit convenient to Old Town area. Well stocked kitchen and clean. Master bedroom could use a new mattress and the place could use an overall spruce up but still a nice place to stay on Key West

Great week

Floors need to be washed, not just swept. Only had 2 wash clothes for showering, there was 5 of us in the condo. Asked for more, never got them. Nothing to wash or dry dishes with or wipe down counters or table. We were able to check in early and get extended check out. Which made the other small issues we had not a big deal. Would for sure stay here again.

What attracted us was the pool and an easy walk to Duval St. Check in and out was extremely easy, plus we asked for a late check out and that was approved quickly. The apartment was very clean, had a full kitchen which we didn't take advantage of, except for the refrigerator. Washer & dryer was a nice surprise, which we did use. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in the Truman Annex before. We found these units to be basic condo units. They were clean and served the purpose. If your looking for luxury, look farther within the Annex. These units are best reserved for two to three people. There is only in one basic bathroom. It does have a hair dryer so you can save some space and weight in your suitcase. There were adequate towels provided. We contacted the company and asked for wash cloths and they were promptly delivered. There are also towels for the pool as well. There are two bedroom with surprisingly comfortable beds. The kitchen is more of a kitchenette than full kitchen. We were able to cook meals and have happy hour, but counter space is non existent. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans and utensils for use. There is cable with two small tv's. So if your used to big screens, prepare yourself. The Wi-Fi worked fine with no issues. If you are looking for views this unit is not for you as it is an end unit surrounded by parking lots. There are two porches with chairs to sit on. Take a short walk to a salt water pool that was always busy with people. There are plenty of lounge chairs as well as a few tables and chairs to sit at. There is a shaded area as well if you don't want to be in the sun. The complex is in a nice, quiet, gated area just two walking blocks to Duval St. For the price of a stay at a B&B in Key West you can have a nicer area and more private stay within the Truman Annex.

It is well equipped,but when built, the permanent fixtures (counters, cabinets etc) were the bare minimum. There are 2 decks, one over the parking lot and the other in the back over a walkway.

Can't beat the Truman Annex!

If you're looking for a more quiet neighborhood with tropical surroundings than Truman Annex is perfect and within walking distance to the most popular attractions.
