Great time! Perfect setting
Perfect for a couple or small family. Great location and very nice.
Little gem by the beach!
This is a great little property. Beautifully decorated, and that means a lot to me. I love to decorate. It had the most storage in the kitchen of any one-bedroom we had ever stayed in. My only complaint would be no hardware on the kitchen cabinets and no oven. We are people that do cook on vacation and missed having an oven. The cabinets and especially the drawers are a little hard to open with no knobs or pulls. Outside of that, it was a perfect place for our stay. We were traveling with other family that were staying in a house right around the corner, so we couldn't have been closer to them. We would definitely consider it again. Amy and Ed are great hosts. The bikes and beach chairs that are available for use are a terrific bonus and save room packing.
We have scheduled pulls to be installed on all the cabinets on Monday, the 20th- go figure! Sorry for the inconvenience but thanks for the validation that we should install them.
Also, the microwave is actually a dual microwave/ convection oven. We laminated the instructions and out them in a originate place so our guests know. It's really simple to use as a convection oven. I've actually baked a roast and cookies and both turned out perfect. I will definitely make it a point to remind our guests that the microwave is also a convection oven! So sorry that it wasn't obvious and thanks for making us aware that it wasn't clear.
We would love to have you back sometime soon!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Carriage House at Seacrest Beach. It was so relaxing and comfortable. Thank you so much Amy for helping us have a wonderful week! Looking forward to staying again sometime soon.
Great location, great house, great weather, great hosts, great vacation!!
Adorable Carriage House at Seacrest Beach
This Carriage House at Seacrest Beach is adorable and was perfect for our family of 4. Our daughters shared the pull-out couch for the week. The Carriage House is within walking distance of a huge pool that you have access to through staying at the house. A little further from the pool (still within walking distance) is the beautiful beach. Our family also had lots of fun riding the bicycles that came with the Carriage House. It was a great experience, and we highly recommend this place.
So wonderful to host your sweet family! Grateful too that the weather was so good! Please come back anytime!
Ed and Amy super nice people. Definitely enjoyed our stay. We will be back!
Scenic Highway 30-A is a 28.5 mile corridor that hugs the Gulf of Mexico coastline in Northwest Florida’s Walton County. This stretch of highway is designated an official scenic byway by the State of Florida DOT and is definitely worth a trip to experience this coastal road that meanders through more than a dozen diverse beach neighborhoods. Along this breath-taking drive you will see sugar-white sand beaches and some very rare coastal dune lakes. Scenic Highway 30-A is a tourist attraction of major proportions, exploring is a must. Whether you’re on foot, on bike or in the car, here’s our top 5 “must-see” things to do along 30A:
Visit any of the varied eateries in Seacrest Village and adjacent Rosemary Beach (just a quick walk away) – Pick from tapas at La Crema, some of the best Mexican at La Cocina, Cajun and Creole or Cuban at Havana Beach Bar and Grill, breakfast or lunch at Summer Kitchen, ice cream and goodies for the kids at The Sugar Shack, or many other options.
Visit the Red Bar in Grayton Beach– This famous restaurant and watering hole in Grayton Beach is housed in what was once the town’s general store in the early 1900’s. Today, the kitschy bar/restaurant is popular among locals and visitors alike. Stop in to check out the Red Bar's funky décor and grab a cold beverage or bite to eat. In the evening, the Red Bar Jazz Band plays funky old-time jazz and blues.
Take a Hike at Grayton Beach State Park– Grayton Beach State Park is one of several parks nestled along our sugar white sand beaches. At the far west end of the main parking area, you’ll find a trail head that leads through the spectacular dune system that is not only scenic but home to many indigenous species. The trail leads through the dunes and along one of the rare coastal dune lakes (Western Lake). Since walking on the dunes is strictly prohibited, this trail provides a unique glimpse from within this special coastal habitat. (Park Entrance Fee: $5/car or $2/bike)
Stand Up Paddle at WaterColor- YOLO, the area’s local stand up paddle board maker and manufacturer, is conveniently located at the WaterColor Marina on Western Lake off Hwy 30A. Stop by and rent boards for an hour or a full or half-day. Paddlers have the option to paddle on Western Lake and continue paddling through Grayton Beach State Park and then out into the Gulf of Mexico. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring water to stay hydrated on this fun and tranquil paddle.
See Truman’s House in Seaside– Entering Seaside may feel vaguely familiar as this is the town where the Truman Show with Jim Carrey was filmed in 1996. Truman’s home in the movie is located at 31 Natchez Street. While the landscaping looks different, you can still picture Truman greeting his neighbor with “Good Morning, and in case I don’t see you, good afternoon and good night.”
There are many more treasures along Hwy 30A
