Great Stay

This was a great spot for our clergy retreat. We enjoyed all the small conversation groupings and the large kitchen and eating spaces. We reserved the house next door as well so had plenty of space to spread out.

Wonderful stay for the summer!

The house and property is beautiful in person just as the description online. We had a wonderful stay for our family of 6 and with it being a quiet neighborhood, you wouldn’t know it was near one of the major roads. Mrs. Sylvia is amazing and made sure our family was taken care for the entire stay. We’re keeping this little gem in mind for our next trip down to this area!

The house was even better then the pictures! All our kids had a blast the entire time! Sylvia was amazing to come show us how to run the pool and hot tub! She was so nice and easy to communicate with. I would love to rent this place again on our next texas vacation in 2 years! Would totally recommend!!

We had 9 adults travel to Harlingen for the Lighthouse Recovery Conference at Connect Point Church and this home was perfect for our group. The home was well stocked with everything needed. It was clean and has been maintained well. The swimming pool was heated, so I was able to get a swim in although it was cooler weather. Rocking chairs on the porches for sitting and taking in the fresh air off of the water was icing on the cake. The pool table and games were excellent for passing time while waiting on everyone to get ready to go. I will be looking to book this home again next year if we get the opportunity to return for the Recovery Conference. Our host was very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you.

Just left this stay and already planning to return!

The home was even better than the pictures. The whole family found their own little hangout spots when they wanted quiet time, and we had great areas for all of us to enjoy together. The jacuzzi tub was a perfect way to relax each evening. The pool was a great hit and it was quite often where we spent the majority of our day. Our contact for the home was quick to respond with information and made sure our stay very memorable. The neighborhood was 10-15 minutes from fun, food, shopping and everywhere we wanted to go! The family had a great time all the kids asking us if we can come back to this house it unanimous with the adults as well, we can’t wait to return!

I don't recommend, will not return.

The home was very easy to find. Its very close to the airport. Check-in was quick and easy. We felt safe in the neighborhood. The home was very clean. Unfortunately, the listing creates an image of a beautiful home, but it is unloved. It smelled musty and “closed up” when we arrived and all the curtains were closed. There were chains on the front gate that were unwelcoming. We accessed the driveway gate and side entrance, so they were not obstructing our check-in. The jacuzzi tub came at an additional cost of $200 for our stay even though it was highlighted on the listing. The tub in the master bathroom wouldn’t drain. We needed to disassemble it. The light cover in the master bath shower was missing. There was a door in the master bedroom with an out of order note on it. Upstairs, the door to the balcony has a note saying it needs to be fixed. The elevator did not work. The home owner said it is very finicky. The kitchen sink did not have hot water during our stay. We boiled water to wash our dishes. The homeowner sent someone to wrap the pipes due to the cold weather and did not communicate to us that they were coming. We were surprised by them showing up in the backyard outside our bedroom when we were in the nude. There was a note in the kitchen on a whiteboard that said not to close the pool cover. Upon asking the home contact, she said we can close it, but it is very hard to do. The contact for the home was very responsive. She brought over pool floats for our daughter to borrow and provided us with a crockpot for our stay when we inquired if there was one in the home. The purpose of our trip was to rest and rejuvenate. The poor mattress quality in addition to the cheap pillows and unfortunate linens made our evenings less than desirable. We left a day early to avoid getting caught in the airports during the snowstorm. This is our first vacation that we weren’t sad to leave. Evolve provided a $100 refund for our disheartening experience. They rely heavily on photos and I had none to provide. I spoke with the homeowner over the phone and he wasn’t interested in making things right for our family. He said we had to go theough Venmo and we probably wont have any luck with them. We won’t be returning, nor would we recommend this home to our friends or family.

Dad’s celebration of life

We had aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, grandparents and teens all came to visit and have meals and the kids played pool and shuffle board, swam. Kitchen was great, enough space for helpers to make meals. The Valley can be very hot and humid but this large home stayed cool entire stay. The entire family had a great time.

Surprise Pop

Renting this home was an awesome idea. Check in was smooth. Everything was like it was in the photos. The space was great. I only have a few little comments for the owners. Because the house is by the water, there are water bugs that come into the house so pest control is a must cause these huge roaches are scary. The grass was long around the pool area. Great place for snakes to hide. Snakes aren’t fun either. We encountered 4 during our stay. 1 was inside the pool house and the other 3 trying to get into the main house. We took videos. Good thing is we aren’t afraid of them but just wanted to comment incase others are terrified. The pool was inconvenient. As much as we wanted to swim, the dome was a nuisance and a major hazard. The steps are under the dome and therefore you can’t access the pool without jumping in, using the metal stairs or walking on the edge of the jacuzzi. This doesn’t work when you have a newborn or littles. This should really be removed or replaced. Also, the water should be checked before each rental. We all had to get out on the first day because of rashes and itching from the water. Good thing was we were able to access the pool next door in which we had no problems. Last but not least, the front of the house needs some attention because several grocery deliveries didn’t want to stop because the house looked vacant in front. The bed in the pool has is really springy and uncomfortable. Communication was great with Sylvia until we left, I sent her a question about checkout and never got a response. Nevertheless, she recommended a good restaurant, mariachis and nearby attractions. Overall, she took good care of us. We really enjoyed our stay and am now curious about the other house rentals. Will definitely be back.

Overall it was ok.

The manager, Sylvia, was great. She responded quickly and was helpful. The house is spacious with many rooms but not an open layout. Ample parking is available. The pool was great! We enjoyed the game room also. The pool house needs cleaning and most of the beds were not comfortable. We ended up enjoying our time in Harlingen.

The house was a little disappointing in that it is much older than anticipated and the property doesn’t seem to be as upkept as the rest of the neighborhood. It did serve its purpose though.

Great Family Game Room

The house has plenty of space to spread out. The game room is fantastic and provides lots of laughs and fun for the whole family. Overall, the property was clean, had enough towels and the kitchen had all the needed supplies. The manager Sylvia was great and responded to all our questions. A few items we'd like to point out as improvement opportunities ... a little pool maintenance could go a long way. The covers take up a large portion of the pool and block the lake view. Running the filter during a guest's stay and providing more than one lounge chair would make it much better. We enjoyed our time. Thanks
