There's more to Micoud than just beach life
When you stay at the Micoud vacation rental, youll have the backdrop of lush tropical rainforests that tumble down to long stretches of powdery sand lapped by the Azure Caribbean Sea. On the first day, you can stretch out on the beach under the shade of swaying palms and work on your tan, or get the old blood flowing on some island adventures. Some are happiest when they are hiking up through the rainforest to hidden waterfalls. Some prefer to gallop along the equestrian trails on horseback. Others cant tear themselves away from the long list of water sports, whether its kayaking, snorkeling or paddle boarding.
Score a bargain in Micoud
The high season, when many of the Micoud vacation rentals get booked up in advance, is during the winter months, particularly December, when families jet in to enjoy the festive season in the sun. A little later in the year, between April and June, the temperature hovers around the balmy high 70s and with fewer people taking up the sand on the beaches it can be an attractive time to visit. The island bursts into color during the summer but later into fall you can score some rock bottom bargains on rentals, but you will have to contend with the odd tropical shower.
Micoud: a wildlife-laden Caribbean island
Compared to most Caribbean islands, St Lucia has a surprisingly high number of sea and land-dwelling exotic species to get up close to. You cant miss spotting iguanas, which grow up to 6 feet in length and bask in the midday sunshine. Talking of lizards, the St Lucia whiptail can only be found on the island and is one of the rarest reptiles in the world. Though elusive and unfortunately in decline, the red-rumped agouti is something spotted scampering across the islands interior, as do cheeky little mongoose, which were introduced many years ago to control the rodent population.
