Traditional Provencal Villa With Private Heated Pool

Ideal for families or couples, 'Les Olives' is a spacious, open-plan, single-storey villa boasting 140m2 of internal living space with beautiful south facing views set within 2500m2 of private, well maintained grounds. Offering total privacy in a rural setting, it has an orchard which is perfect for ball games, badminton or boules. The house has glass doors opening onto terraces on 2 sides with a poolside BBQ area with sink. There are several dining areas, one shaded in high summer by a natural canopy of mulberry-plane trees. The 8m x 4m heated pool is a few steps from the house and easily viewed from anywhere in the living room and kitchen. The villa has under-floor heating and a centrally placed open fireplace for rentals during the cooler months. The pool is heated from April to October as required to maintain a temperature between 20-25 centigrade and there is also an outdoor poolside hot water shower. Small pets are welcome subject to approval. Please note that the property in NOT FENCED IN.

Bilan trÚs positif de ce séjour à salernes .Nous avons apprécié cette location par sa tranquillité, ses volumes, sa localisation, ses équipements. Nous étions une grande famille avec un petit garçon de 6 ans pour qui le jardin et l espace extérieur était important. La communication avec Ariane qui s occupe sur place de la maison était super ! Elle faisait le lien avec la propriétaire.

Bilan des deux semaines passĂ©es Ă  Salernes. Dans les moins : la maison mĂ©riterait d'ĂȘtre entretenue : de nombreuses fissures dans les murs, les joints de la suite parentale sont complĂštement moisis, le revĂȘtement de la baignoire de l'autre salle de bain est rouillĂ©e, les matelas des enfants sont couverts de tĂąches, plusieurs lits simples ont des lattes cassĂ©es voir manquantes, dans la cuisine aucun rangement pour la nourriture, il a fallu mettre les gamelles sur la table de la salle pour libĂ©rer de la place, malgrĂ© le commentaire de 2018 la cafetiĂšre est toujours aussi petite et lente, certains morceaux du revĂȘtement des meubles de cuisine se dĂ©collent, l'eau s'infiltre dans la maison par le toit en tĂŽle au dessus de la table Ă  manger en cas de pluie, les transats et chaises autour de la piscine sont dans un Ă©tat dĂ©plorable, les consignes donnĂ©es par les propriĂ©taires, qui font 8 pages, auraient pu ĂȘtre traduites en français (les propriĂ©taires sont anglais). Dans les plus : la maison est trĂšs bien situĂ©e sur les hauteurs de Salernes, aucun vis Ă  vis et les collines Ă  perte de vue. Elle est Ă  environ 1h des gorges et de la mer. Elle offre de beaux volumes. Le jardin comprend une estrade trĂšs apprĂ©ciĂ©e des enfants pour y faire des spectacles. Surtout la piscine est trĂšs agrĂ©able (belles dimensions et profondeur) bien qu'un peu rouillĂ©e par endroits. En bref, nous avons passĂ© un agrĂ©able sĂ©jour mais il est regrettable, au prix de la location, que la maison ne soit pas un minimum entretenue.

Excellent séjour

Maison trÚs accueillante et trÚs bien équipée aussi bien en équipements extérieurs qu intérieurs. Maison assez isolée pour ne pas déranger les voisins mais suffisamment proche du centre-ville pour faire des courses facilement. Le seul bémol restera la chaleur la nuit et les moustiques le soir, mais on s'y attendait en venant dans cette région. C'est une location trÚs positive pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis !

Villa agréable dans l'ensemble

Nous avons passĂ© un agrĂ©able sĂ©jour Ă  Salernes. Belle villa dans l'ensemble et son emplacement Ă©tait idĂ©al. Pas de vis Ă  vis. Beaux volumes Ă  l'intĂ©rieur et Ă  l'extĂ©rieur, Belle villa dans l'ensemble. Cependant beaucoup de choses sont Ă  rafraĂźchir : les murs (de grosses fissures), l'isolation des fenĂȘtres et les volets qui ont du mal Ă  fermer. Il manquait un Ă©clairage extĂ©rieur sur la terrasse pour le coin repas le soir. Le canapĂ© Ă©tait cassĂ© (bancal), les lits simples avec coffrage Ă  la tĂȘte et aux pieds Ă©taient trop petits pour des personnes faisant de plus 1m90, une cafetiĂšre qui fonctionnait mal (30 mn pour passer le cafĂ©). De petites choses Ă  remplacer et Ă  revoir.

Zalig en rustig genieten

Rustig gelegen woning met een mooi uitzicht en een goed onderhouden zwembad. Douche aan het zwembad is heel handig. Leuk zitten in de schaduw onder een bladerdek van esdoorns. Niet te ver van centrum, bakker en andere winkels. Aanwezigheid van ventilatoren is een pluspunt (maar ook noodzakelijk in de zomer) Voor verbetering vatbaar: de voorraad glazen en tassen is beperkt wanneer er een bezetting is van 8 personen. Ook de orde en netheid (in kasten bijvoorbeeld) kan naar onze normen beter. Maar dat is natuurlijk een opdracht voor al wie er verblijft. Deze laatste puntjes wegen uiteraard niet op tegen alle voordelen die dit vakantiehuis biedt. Ook de communicatie met de eigenaars verliep op een correcte en vriendelijke manier. Wij houden er alvast mooie herinneringen aan over!

A comfortable, easy house with an excellent pool

Les Olives is an attractive, traditional house, unpretentious but well-laid out and easy to use and enjoy. My three grandchildren aged 4,6 and 8 years enjoyed great games in the safe grounds and thought the pool amazing. This made for a most relaxing holiday for their five accompanying adults. We found lots to interest us in the surrounding area too with trips to local restaurants and to Terra Rossa, the Lac de Sainte Croix and the Gorges du Verdon, as well as many visits to Salernes, a lively, and charming town.

Absolutely stunning villa in a beautiful setting

My stay in this wonderful, Provencal villa was fantastic! The villa is warm and welcoming, with a lovely, homely feel. The whole place was very clean and well maintained, and the bed was really comfortable (I stayed in the en suite room). We spent most of our days exploring the local countryside (a visit to the lake is a must!) and our evenings sat out on the terrace, with a glass of wine from the local cave enjoying the beautiful settings. I would fully recommend staying in this wonderful Villa, and will be back again very soon!

Tranquil Escape

Les Olive was all that we had hoped for and more! Centrally located, it is the perfect home base from which to explore the area. The house was beautifully appointed and the space perfect for our extended family. At night, we loved having a glass of wine beside the heated pool while the kids swam. And during the day, the house was the perfect home base from which to explore Salernes. We loved the heated pool & the sunken living room and frankly never wanted to leave! We hope to visit again next year!

Wonderful villa, perfect location!

The villa not only fulfilled, but surpassed it's online description. Best equipped kitchen I've ever had in a holiday rental. Deceptively spacious, comfortable and clean with the exceptional added bonus of wonderful caretaker, Ariane, who was more than willing to help us with reservations and suggestions of things to do and see. I would highly recommend Les Olives and in fact, I am hoping to return in 2016!

A beautiful villa in a stunning location

We have stayed in the villa several times. It is spacious, light and airy with a lovely heated pool to enjoy. The facilities are excellent and there is someone nearby who maintains the villa and pool who can be called any time should any problems arise. Salernes is a good centre within easy reach of St Tropez (about an hour) and the beautiful Gorges du Verdon (about half an hour). There are plenty of restaurants in the area and recommendations are provided by the owners prior to arrival. I would highly recommend this property

Wonderful week at Les Olives

This was our 4th stay at villa Les Olives - great spot for day tripping or just hanging around reading by the pool beautiful views, very well appointed comfortable house. Arrived in perfect time for artichoke and asparagus season this year. Many wonderful lunches on the terrace. Highly recommend!

We live and work in Central London and spend as much time in France as we can. When we are not able to be there we like to make it available for others to enjoy as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

We decided to buy a second home in France in 2000 and spent the next 3 years looking for a suitable property . When we saw Les Olives we fell in love - and we saw it for the first time in November in the rain! Under the provencal sun, it was glorious and the views across the hills are spectacular. We love being there all year round and try to spend Christmas and New Year there when we can. The fireplace is wonderful and makes the house cosy - we play lots of board games, read by the fire and cook long leisurely meals.

What makes this property unique

The villa is very private, quiet and nestled in the hills outside of Salernes, which is less than 2 kilometres from the property. The house itself is easy to share and very child-friendly with few ornaments within reach of little fingers and the pool is within steps of the house and easy to monitor from the main living area of the house. Kids have plenty of space to play on the grounds and the traditional 'terraces' that delineate property boundaries act as invisible 'fences.' For adults, there is plenty of space to spread out or gather for drinks and meals with both covered areas and areas in the sun.
