Westmore and the lake
Westmore's jewel is unquestionably Lake Willoughby. Cozy lodges and cabins cluster around its shores to offer vacationers access to doorstep walking trails, all weaving and wiggling in and out of its waterside fields and meadows. Dashes of pine forest fringe the whole place, while a wide, sandy beach lines the top end of the water. On the south side is the protected Willoughby State Forest, spread over the tops of Mount Pisgah. Head there, to find babbling creeks, rocky inlets and mossy cliffs dotted with trees.

The nearest airport is in Newport, VT (EFK-Newport State), located 11.6 mi (18.7 km) from the city center. If you can't find a flight that works for your travel itinerary, you could also fly into Lyndonville, VT (LLX-Caledonia County), which is 13.9 mi (22.4 km) away.
