We had a fabulous time with our stay at the Orchid House! The views were just amazing.
Myself, husband, 3 yr old and parents enjoyed our four night stay. Pennywell farm is highly recommended for those with young children, it was filled with activities and was exhausted after 2 hours. The decor was clean and tidy and the shower was pleasant. The only unfortunate thing was the single beds for my parents could not be pushed together but wasn’t a major issue. We had such a great time, we hope to come again :)
The location of this property can not be beaten. Seconds away from the centre of Salcombe with beautiful views.

Fantastic location with stunning views
A truly relaxing break. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orchid House which was clean, comfortable and perfectly situated to take in the amazing scenery and only a short walk from the town. We would certainly recommend it! Mr & Mrs T
Incredible location and views from lounge
Walking distance to Salcombe and its restaurants, pubs, ferry and harbour. A lovely house with 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Everything you need in the kitchen. Comfortable lounge/dining area with a unforgettable view over the estuary. Parking is great for 2 cars. There is a steep walk to the front door which my 95 year old father in law managed. A lovely location to explore this part of Devon. We hope we can return sometime. Highly recommended and good communication from the owners.
Wonderful property and superb holiday
We loved our time at Orchid House for so many reasons. I have been visiting Salcombe every year for almost 20 years and this is one of the best houses we have stayed in:
To have parking in Salcombe is amazing
The position was perfect, close to the ferry and near enough to the main center but not too in the thick of it was great. Some of Salcombe is on a really steep hillside and this house isn't.
THE VIEW IS UNBELIEVABLE
The house is well equipt and has everything you need, including washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher.
Its clean and tidy and we were even left with fresh flowers.
We will be back next year!
Four days was not long enough to enjoy all that was offered.

Unlikely to return as such a long way from home in Cumbria!
Numerous safe, clean and sandy beaches in the South Hams area with several beaches within walking distance of The Orchid House via the two pedestrian ferries.
Salcombe town is within 1 minute walking distance of the Orchid House. Further afield, Kingsbridge town centre is 6 miles by car (15 mins drive). The nearest train station is at Totnes, a drive of 20 miles by car (40 mins).

Booking Notes: The Orchid House is available to rent throughout the year on a weekly basis. Short breaks out of season can also be negotiated. Provisional reservations can be accepted by telephone or e-mail and confirmed on payment of a rental deposit. Changeover Day: Changeover day is Friday with departure time by 10:00 am and arrival after 4:00 pm unless by prior arrangement where possible. Notes on prices: Prices range from £516 per week low season to £1,673 per week high season. Short stay rates are available during non-peak periods and costs, as a percentage of weekly rental rates. 3 nights: 70%, 4 nights: 75%, 5 nights: 85%, 6 nights: 92%, 7 nights: 100%.
