At Sunset Central YOU ARE SO CLOSE YOU CAN FEEL THE OCEAN! As soon as you walk into SUNSET CENTRAL you take a deep breath and start to smile. The view is as good or better than imagined. Then you open the doors and the sound of waves magnifies. SUNSET CENTRAL IS as nice as you hoped for. Why?

The old Cliché, "VIEW, VIEW, VIEW". We have of one of the BEST OCEAN VIEWS in Maui. You don't think about it but "NOT" having a pool or upper floor lanai railing, or anything in your ocean view, makes it as good as it gets. The view from inside the condo is great and the view from our lanai is even better. We have the perfect combination for a ROMANTIC stay. A quiet and quaint location. Off the main road. Stunning views, and soothing Pacific Ocean surround sound.

There is NO EQUAL to being GROUND FLOOR directly on the ocean. Carry your chair 25 feet to the small ocean sea wall and watch a 180 degree sunset at the sea wall. Does the drink you brought with you need a refill or you forgot your camera? No problem. A few steps back and you have it. Don't want to move 25 feet to the ocean edge? Just watch a sunset, sunrise, or the ocean from the very large lanai. The lanai has a ceiling fan for added comfort during the warmer months.

We have steps with access to our semi private beach for swimming and snorkeling. Please note that the stairs to the beach are less than 90' to the North. Access to the ocean is easy most of the time. Some of our photos show a large beach. During 2024 the tide changes resulted in the loss of the large beach most of the time. The last three photos show the more common size of the beach at low tide. There are times where there is no access to the beach, or only beach at low tide.

SUNSET CENTRAL faces directly West providing WONDERFUL SUNSET shows. During the year the sunsets move back and forth from the island of Lanai and Molokai.

The PICTURES, VIDEO, and RENTER COMMENTS tell it all. Please note that the video is over 15 years old. The photos show the numerous upgrades since then. Once selecting a pic, click on it for full size close up.

DECOR: Our goal was to make the family/dining room feel as large as possible even though it is larger than usual for Maui. Our tv/stereo and our dining table set are on one wall. The sofa sleeper and recliner are set up on the other wall. The result is a large open area in the middle of the room. We think we accomplished our goal.

SERVICE: We only have one condo to manage so we give 100% of our attention to you. Even though we can accommodate 4 people in our condo we only allow a maximum of 2. This is to minimize the wear and tear. This also helps us to make sure our condo is in good shape when you arrive. We have a large separate bedroom with a CA king size bed. A separate bedroom is nice compared to a studio that has a hotel type feeling. We do have a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

We have a portable A/C in the bedroom. The add cost to use is $7.00 for the days/nights used. Renters should let us know if the A/C was used and how many days after their stay. We do not charge until the end of the trip and only for the nights/days of use. We do not agree with charging for A/C for nights not used or if not used at all.

POOL: Our pool is not oceanfront. See our photo. The pool would not be the main reason for renting our condo.

One load of wash needs to be started. Please wash all of the bathroom towels etc. for this load.
IF YOU USE THE SOFA SLEEPER IN THE FRONT ROOM ALL OF THOSE SHEETS NEED TO BE WASHED AND DRIED IN ADDITION TO THE TOWEL LOAD.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Our stay at Sunset Central was amazing! The condo truly is RIGHT on the water. We had breakfast and dinner out there almost every day, and it was beautiful, with lots of turtles swimming by! The condo itself is very nice and there were so many amenities - all the kitchen necessities, beach chairs/umbrella, boogie board, beach towels, books, games, binoculars - you name it, it was there! The complex is very quiet. It's close to Ka'anapali Beach (5 minutes away), which was beautiful. There are lots of restaurants nearby, we couldn't have asked for a better central location. I would recommend this rental for anybody looking for a place to unwind and relax!

The location to the ocean was as described. We enjoyed this beautiful condo and its location in the Lahaina area. We had our own parking spot and a swimming pool very close to us. There were many extras provided like games, outdoor grill, outdoor patio area, and full kitchen set up. It was our oasis during our first trip to Maui. Recommend shopping close to airport before driving to Lahaina as groceries are more expensive.

We’re in love. Waterfront view, spotted rays the first night. Turtles every night after that. The most incredible sunsets and starry nights! The condo was just as described, had everything we needed for a comfy home base. Will absolutely stay here again - Ray is an amazing host! Please note some units are housed by locals - so please be respectful of time and noise rules. Overall an incredible experience, will definitely be back!

We (Ray and Connie) are from California. We love the outdoors and we especially love water and the sound of water from rivers, waterfalls, the ocean and even when it rains. When we like something we tend to keep coming back. Having a condo in West Maui is an example. Not a bad routine. We know you will love Maui too. Why they chose this property

Connie and I (Ray) visited Maui from California for the first time about 20 years ago. Every time we visited we spent some time looking at condos. The question was, Where to buy? South Maui (Kihei), or West Maui? The first requirement was to be right on the ocean. We preferred the famous West Maui side but there were very few available in our price range due to its popularity. Finally after several trips to Maui we came upon one in West Maui that was so close to the ocean and romantic that it would not let us go. The rest is history. Now we have a nice home away from home that we get to visit a couple of times a year.

What makes this property unique

Our condo is unique due to having one of the best views in Maui, our proximity to the ocean, our beach access, the small size of complex, being off the main road, and the quaint, quiet feel you get when staying there. The view right out to the ocean is almost 180 degrees with no pool or complex lounge seating in the way is unmatched. Although we have a large condo, over 600 square feet and could easily sleep 4 people, we only allow 2 as a maximum. The result is less wear and tear on the condo and greater assurance that it will be in great shape when you arrive.
