About Charles Kirkman
Christine and I live in Baslow just 4 miles from Bakewell and so are able to be on hand to look after our cottages and our guests if there are any problems. We have a local business which provides services all over the Peak District and so we love the area and know it well and are always pleased to give local information to help you make the most of your stay.
Charles Kirkman purchased this House in 2007
Why Charles Kirkman chose Bakewell
Brew House is such an unusual property in that it offers the friends or family group the opportunity to socialise together in warm comfortable surroundings whatever activities you want to do.It is very close to the centre of town yet is also quiet and has great amenities in parking and accommodation. Christine and I moved to the area 22 years ago and set up a business providing services to local residents and businesses which has enabled us to become a part of the community and also get to know the area very well. We love the beauty of the countryside and the diversity of the different villages, the local customs and festivals and of course the people who live here. Bakewell is the centre of the Peak District and is a tourist attraction in itself, but it also makes the surrounding area very accessible by car, on foot or by public transport.
What makes this House unique
Brew House is very spacious and rather unusual as it is an "upside down" house. The benefits of this are that the large living space makes a very light and warm area where everybody can get together and enjoy one another's company whether cooking, eating or just relaxing. Free Wi-Fi is now also available. There are very few if any other houses available in Bakewell with the accommodation the Brew House offers in having 3 bedrooms and bathrooms and parking for 3 cars all within 300 yds of the Town Centre. The walk into town is flat and level and so is very easy giving great access to the shops, pubs and restaurants without getting the car out.

Brilliant week in Bakewell
Excellent property. Very convenient for the town centre but quiet as back from the road. Lovely terrace with good views. Extremely well equipped kitchen with plenty of large pots and pans for cooking for 6. Ideal for 6 people. Parking as described. A little tight but adequate and we didn’t use the cars once we had parked up. Either walked or used the good local bus service. Thank you for a great week away and feel sure we will be back
A very comfortable property, in an excellent location. One or two minor problems which were overcome. Note left fpr the owner which received a very rapid reply.
Overall a very good property. Stairs might be an issue for some people.
Wehad a very happy week.
Lovely place and enjoyed our stay. Everything we could need was provided and the location could not have been better. Thank you!
Thank you Corinna for your great review. Thank you for staying and please come back in the future.
Great rental...great location... only tricky thing was parking!
I'm pleased Carolyn found Brew House to be a great place to stay but sorry she found the parking a bit tricky.
There is parking for 3 cars with the house being in the garage which will take cars up to a Mondeo size, a space behind for any size car and a Parking Permit space again which will take any size.
Unfortunately as the house is at the back of a courtyard our neighbours have allocated spaces within the courtyard so moving around is not always easy but the parking is never blocked.
Apart from the weather we ha a lovely week with family .
Location was brilliant and cottage was very well equipped
Would definitely like to visit again
Fantastic base for our family weekend!
Brew House was amazing! So comfortable and well equipped and very spacious for our party of six adults. When we arrived on a damp Friday afternoon the heating was on which was a lovely touch and bread, milk, tea and coffee had been left for us. We found the garage very useful for drying our dogs when we got back from our walks around Chatsworth and Milldale and the utility room good for leaving damp coats and shoes. We managed to park our cars in the garage and space provided though we did use the parking permit for one car if we were going in and out. The garden is very attractive with chairs and table for six though we didn't have the best weather so were not able to eat outdoors. It must be lovely in the summer. Had dinner on Sunday at the Peacock Inn which was very good and looked round Bakewell Market after we checked out on Monday. All in all a fantastic weekend. Thank you so much.
We are so pleased that Christine enjoyed Brew House and had a great time with her friends and family. We regularly look to make improvements to our properties and so have just finished the refurbishment of the Master bedroom by replacing the carpet and all the furniture to improve our guests experience. We do the same at our other property, Anne Cottage too and so have recently replaced the leather sofas there to upgrade the standard. We would be pleased to welcome Christine back again in the future if she wished. Charles Kirkman
