Our guests have described our home as really beautiful. True, we can't really call it a cabin because there's nothing rustic about it. But being in the forest, downriver from the Shore Lodge, with a comfortable deck that looks out over the river below, the beauty here makes it feel like the perfect retreat. And a great place to celebrate family and friends being together. We are in a quiet residential neighborhood, with lovely full-time neighbors, so the only wildlife we want here are the ospreys, deer, fox, and an occasional bear sighting.
Completely re-built in 2006 after a fire, our house is luxurious and comfortable. The 2,100 sf main entry level features a spacious great room with solid cherry floors, large kitchen with island and barstools, a walk-in pantry stocked with more kitchen appliances and extras, a laundry/mud room, 10 ft ceilings, and 8 ft picture windows looking east at the river and mountain views. All this and three bedrooms and 2 full baths are on the main level. Down one flight of stairs is a daylight basement with a bedroom, full bath, and an open living room area with a twin bed.
SNOWMOBILERS: The circular driveway is quite long - more than enough for a trailer and extra cars. See the sketch in photos with measurements of both legs of the driveway.
Kitchen: open to the great room; fully equipped with all the tools for gourmet cooking, granite counters, 2 sinks, custom cabinetry, and an island with 3 tall bar seats. Art tile backsplash with custom bronze tile and hardware. Dimmer switches throughout.
Dining Room: table seats 8 and sits along picture windows looking out to the beautiful view of the river and mountains.
Living room: sofa, wide snuggle chair and ottoman, plus a leather recliner. New 55" Samsung UHD TV, DVD, AppleTV, Surround Sound speakers. High-speed Wifi and Dish Network. The river rock fireplace has a gas log insert that warms the room very quickly with a glowing fire and built-in fan.
Master bedroom: View windows face the river. California King natural latex bed, large bathroom with heated limestone floors, a separate toilet room, walk-in double showerhead shower with ceramic and bronze art tile, walk-in carpeted closet. A door opens onto the deck. The warm floors keep the whole bathroom superbly comfortable.
2nd bedroom: at the front of the home, King bed.
3rd bedroom: Queen bed.
Guest bath: tub and shower, 2 sinks, and linen closet. Next to the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms.
4th bedroom + 1: In the private suite downstairs - an 800sf daylight basement. The bedroom has a Queen bed and adjacent full bath with shower/tub. Also downstairs is a bonus room with one twin bed that serves as the “+” bedroom. Perfect for families wanting a quiet space away from upstairs.
Upstairs laundry room. Washer/dryer, Iron and board, lots of coat hooks.
A two-car garage opens into the house. Remote garage door opener provided. Beach chairs, towels, and coolers.
HANDICAPPED: There are 2 stairs at the front entrance to the home, and from the garage, there are 2 shallow stairs.
There is no air-conditioning in the house because it seldom gets hot enough to need it. But when it does, we leave the windows open at night and close them in the morning. The house stays cool all day.
