About Sally Lang
Sally and Richard have lived in the farmhouse for nearly 30 years. We converted this old farm building into an enchanting holiday cottage two years ago. Since then we have had 5 star reviews from everyone who has stayed here. We look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful part of Hampshire so you can discover for yourself how wonderful it is!
Sally Lang purchased this Cottage in 1986
Why Sally Lang chose Waterlooville
We love this tranquil rural location. It is near the coast and yet so close to Chichester, Portsmouth, Winchester, Petersfield and all the sporting and cultural activities that take place in this part of the country. There is masses to see and do for all tastes! We are only an hour from London, so ideal for a long weekend break.
What makes this Cottage unique
You could spend a cosy winter weekend walking and curled up reading by the fire, or in the summer you could explore local beaches and try watersports. You could play golf at one of half a dozen spectacular courses. There is fabulous scenery and walking on the South Downs Way. There are some of the most beautiful cycle routes on and off road right from our doorstep. You could bring your paints and find some stunning subject matter in the landscape, or you could go birdwatching in Pagham. You could check out the local historical sites, or visit modern art galleries and sculpture parks in Chichester and Winchester. There is so much to do locally, that it is difficult to list it all here. We have created a 'house book' which is full of ideas of places to go, and things to do. There are lots of local pubs and restaurants if you don't want to cook!
Welcoming and beautifully appointed
Lavender Cottage welcomes you in as soon as you open the door. Sally & Richard then meet you and you immediately feel at home so to speak. Sally’s welcome pack is also amazing with everything you need to set you up for your stay. So don’t bring eggs, bacon, sausages, bread, milk, cereal, etc etc!! The only thing it didn’t have was a charging point for your toothbrush. This we solved by buying an adapter. Overall we had a wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage. Thank you so much Sally & Richard.
Perfect 5 star accommodation not to be missed
Definatley 5 star. A very warm welcome from Sally, (and Richard when he returned,). There was a hamper full of tasty local food. The accommodation was perfect having 2 on-suite bathrooms. The decor is very pleasing and tastefully done. The lovely weather we had allowed us to enjoy all the court yard and outside seating. Highly recommended.
Home from home
We have stayed at the cottage twice a year since it opened, we keep going back, it is never long enough - everything is superb - what more can you want??
Thanks so much Lynn! Great to see you all again in such fine fettle. Look forward to next time! X Sally
Excellent cottage in a good location with nice hosts. They even arranged the weather!
We absolutely recommend "Lavender Cottage"! A spacy and modern rebuilt house which offers everything you need. Furnished and decorated with love. Many lovely places to relax. Sally and her husband are splendid hosts (the welcome hamper was really great). Our expectations were exceeded. We'll surely come again.
Beautiful, well kept cottage in a stunning part of the UK. Highly recommended it.
It was really lovely to see you all again Michelle. You brought beautiful weather with you! Look forward to the next time. Best wishes to you all. Sally
Wonderful south coast beaches. Hayling Island, West and East Wittering and Southsea, all within half an hour. Also bird-watching at Pagham.
Southampton Airport is about 25 minutes. Gatwick an hour and a quarter. Heathrow about the same. A car is essential.
We are situated in the South Downs National Park. Portsmouth is about 20 minutes driving, Chichester about 20 minutes, Petersfield 15 minutes. Winchester 35 minutes, Southampton half an hour.
There are local shops and a large Morrisons supermarket in Horndean about 2 miles away. There are numerous country pubs in the area. Petersfield has a monthly farmers market.
We are in an ideal location for walking, rambling or cycling. There is plenty of parking space, and space to store bicycles. We can provide tennis racquets and balls, croquet and badminton.
