warm host but the property is in serious need of some TLC
positive1) the queen size bed is actually comfortable; bedroom has drapes-a rarity in italy. so you do not have to close up the entire room just to get a good sleep 2) ivana is a warm lady who tried her best to help.very responsive on whatsapp.hence i feel sorry about this review on the property itself as her Calabrian warmth could not overcome all the essentials lacking in the property itself.now, negatives1) it is not a beach front property. you can walk to the beach.but the walk involves a 200 ft elevation.it is not in tropea, nor in the village of parghelia. short walk to the village center but you walk underneath a motor way and train track to get to the other sidethe village has one nice restaurant but not much else. no supermarket.2)poor wifi 3)kitchen is new but seems an after thought as there is no living room or any living room or dining room furniture. only a half table. even cabinet space is next to none.there is no space for any condiment (basically just a dry rack), and poorly equipped as many essentials for cooking were not provided.4) bathroom is the saddest one i have seen in all the flats i have rented in italy in the past 5 years. shower stall is so tiny i had to shut off water and open the doors so i could bend down without knocking my head on them. and i am only 165cm.there is nothing in the shower to hold even a bar soap. water pressure is very poor. the space also presents a trip hazard as the floor is cut in half, one half is one step higher than the other half. 5)even though mattress is relatively new,the linens are all old. wash towel is so old it is semi transparent. bed had two thin pillows for two adults (the other two in the closet were so used and lumpy they were simply unusable).it has one thin sheet. (thank goodness i brought my own pillow, blanket and sheet from vieste) 5) there is NO washer in the unit. one washer in the yard for all renters to use, and you have to pay €3 and it looks rusty. 6)the yard had more mud than grass7)the unit was completely empty upon our arrival after 6 hours of drive, nothing in the kitchen(coffee, tea bag, salt, pepper, sugar, not even a bottled water) to ease our settling in on sunday.8)we had a rusty drying rack hanging from the railing without any fastener with no cloth clips.we could not even dry unwashed towels on it.9)all throw pillows and duvet covers has stains on them. look totally unwashed.
