About the property

Front Row Joe!

How would you like to wake up to the ocean literally outside your doorstep every morning? The Barefoot Pelican is a relaxing retreat and a great place to chill. This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath beachfront house that sleeps up to 10. There is a king size bed in the Master, a queen in the second, and 2 sets of bunks in the 3rd. There is also a queen size Sleeper sofa in the living room. There is free Wi-Fi along with multiple HDTV's, cable, DVD, phone and a fireplace. For all you old school gamers there is a PlayStation 2. There are ceiling fans throughout (with the exception of the bunk room, we figure kiddos like to keep their heads) and it is central air/heat. There are awesome wall of floor to ceiling windows, which face the ocean in the living/dining room. This makes for a fantastic panoramic view. In the kitchen there are ocean view, 2 microwaves, fridge, oven, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Outside there are 2 decks, one upper (which goes around the sides of house) and one lower deck. You can see sunrise from the main deck and sunset from the side deck. There is an outdoor cabana shower with hot and cold water. If you don't feel like taking a shower, there is a handy dandy foot wash station to get "dem feet" clean. And when you're ready to brave the beach, you can mosey down either via a paved stone path or a shared walkover. Sorry, no pets and no smoking allowed. Come take a breather, unwind, relax, hang loose, sit back, chill out, take a break, cool off, loosen up, take it easy, put "dem feet" up, and have fun in the sun!! We hope you come back again and again, to have a good time at The Barefoot Pelican!

Guests must get a pool pass from the Sea Isle Homeowner Association to use the community pool. Sea Isle Homeowner Association is only open Monday-Friday, 10am to 5pm. Guests should call

409-737-2438 to purchase a pool pass ($100.00 for 10 guests for length of reservation). NO POOL PASSES SOLD ON THE WEEKEND. If pool pass not purchased by 5pm on Friday prior to the start of the reservation, no pool access will be available.

The Barefoot Pelican

  • 4 of 5

We loved the extra deck, we sat out every night and watched the meteor showers, also you get a spectacular view of the Milky Way, the house has nice comfy furniture, bed were very comfortable, washer and dryer were great, very quiet, the only thing is I wished all 5 shutters on the windows in the living room opened, only 2 were allowed open, but that only made us go sit outside on the deck, the beach is clean and quiet, water was clear and you could see your feet when you waded out in the surf, love the outside shower with hot and cold water and the leg sprayer to get sand off of you, the Barefoot Pelican is the perfect set up, just yards from the water

Barefoot Pelican Beach House

  • 1 of 5

The only thing that was decent about this house was that it was on the beach. The house isn't maintained. The rental agency, Ryson, nickel and dime you. The house wasn't worth what we paid for it. The porch needs to be repainted. The deck below needed to be sanded. The refrigerator never really got cold. the doors in the master bedroom are damaged and just a sign was posted not to open them. We had to check in right at three o'clock, but house keeping was still there until 3:30 PM. WE should be refunded some money for not being able to access the house until after the housekeeping crew left. They did a crappy job too. Ryson has a strict policy on checking out at 10 AM or they would charge you an extra day, but we lost about an hour of time in the house. They charge fees if the AC in the house isn't left at 78 degrees. They charge crazy fees for crazy things. I will never use this company again. The house needs a lot of work. I don't think it will withstand a hurricane.

Comfortable with great views

  • 5 of 5

The house was a good fit for our family. My husband's parents, my mother and sister and her two teenage kids, my husband and I and our 4 1/2 month old baby all stayed comfortably. It's about a 20 minute drive from all of the souvenir shops, restaurants, etc. You feel secluded but not too far from everything. It was my first time to Galveston and we were pleasantly surprised. The sand was more compact so it was nice for running and using a stroller on the beach. The fireplace was a perfect way to warm up at night. The best part was watching the sunrise every morning from the deck or from the living room. The view was amazing. The beach was right out your back door.

PS. The compressor went out in the fridge, which was a bummer, but they delivered a new one to us the next day. They provided an ice chest and ice to us.

Overall this was a wonderful vacation for our family and we were sad to leave. We would rent this house again.
