Beautiful but with issues

We thought it was a lovely apartment and the communication started out great. The place was mostly clean except for some mold in one shower and the other shower clogging. The location was perfect.However, once a couple of issues arose we had a hard time getting ahold of the owner. We called about the AC not working and eventually got someone on the phone. Then, we had an issue with the dryer not working and had no extra towels, there was also no hot water for showering the entire time. When we raised these concerns, we received no answer and haven't heard from them since then. Disappointed because otherwise we had a great stay, it could have been an easy fix had they just responded.

We spent 4 nights at this property; very nice decor spacious and centrally located, however not appointed well. Bring your own soap and shampoos etc... The place could use additional towels for longer stays; bedding was great. If you book more than two couples the bathroom situation would be awkward, since the third bedroom does not have a separate bathroom, one will need to enter the other bedrooms to access the bathrooms. During the day I guess its ok, however at night… It’s very close to the center of town easy access. Overall, very good property would stay there again only for two couples though.

Lovely sunny apt. We had a great stay. Very spacious. Lots of construction noise inside the apt building though that we did not know in advance. Elevator did not work on checkout day so annoying to take all the luggage down the stairs.

The location was amazing with shops/grocery stores/restaurants right outside our building however the property left some things to be desired. The listing did not explain that both bathrooms were in bedrooms. Even what would be considered the "main bath" was attached to a bedroom without doors into the bed room area. This made it difficult for privacy at times. There was trouble with a bathroom leak and when reported to owner there was little to no communication about what would be done until we came back to a plumber in the apartment. Also had a lot of trouble with the electronic handle not catching the latch on the door and we were stuck in the hall for a half hour trying to get in. Loose/cracked floor boards that made for a surprise tripping hazzard. Overall if the owner was more responsive and if little things/general maintenance were taken care of this plce would have been 5 stars all around.

Horrible smell and dishonest listing

We stayed in this place for 5 days and had horrible experience. First off, there is a smell through the apartment that can only be described as sewage/kitty litter. In one of the rooms in particular, there is a smoke smell that is very strong. It was so bad that the guest in that room had to book other accomodations because they could not sleep due to the headache the smell caused. Secondly, the listing is dishonest about the bathrooms. While there are indeed two bathrooms, they are in 2 of the 3 bedrooms, rather than one of them being a common bathroom. So the person who does not have a bathroom in their room will have to go into the room of the other guests to use theirs. Not great for having to pee in the middle of the night. Other issues we had: Running all the AC units in the place will trip the power breakers. We were told this would be fixed during our stay but it was not. We tripped the breakers many times during our stay. The guest shower does not drain well, causing it to spill water onto the bathroom floor while showering. If two people shower at the same time you will run out of water in less than 5 minutes. I communicated these issues to our hosts after our stay and they refused to compensate us at all for our issues. All in all, with the ridiculous price you pay to stay here I would not recommend it.

There are things about this place that are five star, and things that are one star. The five star: Location is amazing. The place itself is really great. Rooms are big and the beds are big and comfy. The one star: the lift has not worked in months, and that was not disclosed. My 75 year old mother had to walk up four flights of stairs every day. We could not get any of the air conditioning units to work. Since the surrounding area is busy, we had to keep the windows closed at night, so it got very warm at night. There are no doors on either of the toilets. Both bathrooms are in the bedrooms, so there is no privacy.

Terrific location.

Great location and very nice large apartment which was very good. Kitchen space is large and common area also large. Bathroom situation- each of two bedrooms have bathroom but they have no doors third bedroom has to use one of the ensuites. Not ideal. Great for family or two couples really Overall we loved or stay in Lisbon and this accommodation helped!

Beautiful Apartment Centrally Located

Our recent stay at Mouraria in the heart of Lisbon was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen the perfect place to call home during our visit to this vibrant city. First and foremost, the location of the apartment was unbeatable. Situated in the heart of Lisbon, we were just steps away from the city's main attractions, trendy neighborhoods, and excellent dining options. We loved being able to explore the charming streets of Alfama, indulge in the local cuisine, and easily access public transportation to explore the wider city.

Lovely location

Authentic European property with great space and great vibe. We loved it. To stay there again though it’s in need of a serious refresh. It’s showing some hard wear and tear- dents, dings, scratches, and shower areas that are borderline dilapidated with warped and moldy baseboards, bubbling drywall on the ceilings and drywall. It’s a great space but areas are “worn hard and hung up wet” bad. Has an odor of septic system too but with some updates and attention to these areas it could be a gem again.

Perfect Location for Exploring Lisbon

Modern apartment exactly as advertised and pictured in central Lisbon, immediately adjacent to excellent public transportation hub, including Metro and Trams 15 and 28. In addition, large taxi stand in the plaza across the street. Building has an elevator, as well as a good stairway. Apartment was perfect for exploring Lisbon. Management was very responsive to a question we had during our stay.

Great location, easy process

We had a nice stay and especially appreciated the clear communications and helpful “extras” (option to have some groceries on hand when we arrived, coordinated airport transfer, etc). There were a few issues (e.g. issues with the AC and washing machine) but hopefully resolved for a future stay.

Beautiful apartment in a great location! The only negative thing is it’s advertised as 3 bathrooms and there are only 2. And there are no utensils.

Booked as 3 bathrooms, only 2 available!!!!!

Stunk of sewer gas. One set of keys was not to this unit! Fortunately we found that out before we got locked out! It was booked as having 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. One bathroom is permanently closed. And the other 2 are en-suites. This the third bedroom has no access to a bathroom!!!! When we explained it was booked as having 3 bathrooms, they said they’d be giving a credit because that was a very real problem for us. But no credit was provided. I’d suggest you ignore the nice pictures and stay elsewhere!

Great property!

It was so nice that every room had a bathroom and the beds were more comfortable than most rental homes. Communal area was great and kitchen had all the essentials. WiFi was good but not perfect. Location was a little walk from the main downtown area but not too far.

Booking it was painful. The agency messed up, & it took SO much time & energy to get it cleared

Apartment is really nice although one bath had clearly experienced a large flood ruining much of the wood and some of the door. The booking this was the worst experience I’ve had in 10 years of using Vrbo. I spent days and days Trying to clear up their mistake. I would get an email from a different person every time which was basically completely unhelpful and vague. Sometimes I would get a form letter reply and no one ever picked up the phone listed. I ended up having to contact the parent company in London as well as VRBO multiple times. The apartment is great but I don’t think I could ever go through the headache of booking with these guys again. The guy Who actually checked us in and showed us around was great. Apartment is in a wonderful location and a nice building. They really need to do also tell us that only two heating units can be turned on at a time or it blows the fuse. We blew a fuse at like midnight one night because we had three [of the 6 or 7 available ] wall heaters on. We were able to get in touch with someone who walked us through resetting the fuse box as it was one we’d never seen before.

A Wonderful Apartment in a Great Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks in Lisbon at this apartment. Special thanks and appreciation to Lucas, our contact person who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable! Loved the kitchen! The location of this apartment couldn’t be better, near the Metro, buses, trams, groceries and all of the wonderful historic attractions!

Good location and an immpressive apartment

We were two couples who stayed in January. We liked the location as it was very close to transportation options throughout the city and the outer areas. We bought Viva Viagem cards and were able to go anywhere. The 28E tram line is just around the corner. A couple more lines are in the Square right outside the door. The Rossio station to get to Sintra is a couple of blocks away. The apartment was comfortable, quiet, and well furnished. Heat/AC worked well. WiFi was so-so but worked all of the time. The only thing that the owners need to do is to either clean or dispose of the rugs that are scattered about. They appear very dirty. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Figueroa Square apartment

The apartment was exactly as advertised. There were 6 of us staying there so the accommodations were ideal. 3 bedrooms each with their own bath, A large living room, dining room and kitchen made it perfect for preparing and enjoying meals together. The location could not have been more perfect. It was close to excellent restaurants, rooftop bars, and the metro. The management company met us at the apartment so that we could drop off our luggage in advance of the checkin time. I would highly recommend this apartment and would absolutely stay there again.

Regular VRBO client

Location of the apartment is great and true to photos. We have used VRBO regularly over the past ten years and have always had great experiences from booking to check out. Not so with this property. Communication is not directly with the owner but a third party. Despite several attempts to contact them for check in details we heard nothing and had to eventually contact VRBO HQ. At check in we were suddenly told that we had to pay the balance of our stay in cash right there and then. We were staying several days and had to run around Lisbon drawing cash from various ATMs. BTW, If you stay in this apartment you will find the cutlery in the “secret” drawer inside another drawer under the stove.
