About Dave McKay
I have always enjoyed freedom and the outdoors and adventure starts in this part of Utah
Dave McKay purchased this House in 2011
Why Dave McKay chose Thompson
This property is for those who want peace, quiet and lots of freedom. The best dinosaur tracks in the world are a nice little 11 mile ride to the south. 4500 year old Indian paintings are just 3 miles north of town. A lot of wildlife passes through the little town, including herds of antelope and deer. Black bear has been spotted in town and there is a herd of buffalo in the nearby Book Cliffs. Moab is just 30 miles to the south , so if you get lonely for heavy traffic and lots of people, it's a relatively short drive.
What makes this House unique
This property is surrounded by hundreds of miles of ATV trails that can be accessed from the front door . In 2012 myself and 8 others rode our ATVs from the front door to Arizona (504 miles one way ) and never crossed private property. In 2014 we rode ATVS from the front door to Wyoming ( 384miles one way)
Sports & Adventure Activities
The place is very clean and has plenty of room.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Thompson House. It was nice not to be right in the crowds of Moab. We really liked exploring the nearby Sego canyon with all the Indian rock art and Ghost town ruins. We would stay here again. It was perfect for our family.
The house is well kept and immaculate! Not enough stars to rate this house!
The house is 35 minutes north of Moab, but so worth the extra distance because we rode north. We didn't have to fight the Moab traffic, going into the Arches National Park was easy access in and out. The house is across the street, next to the train tracks, but we hardly noticed the noise from the trains because we were usually gone for the day or too tired from having fun to notice. The owners were great, they fully stock the house. The kitchen and eating area is huge! The bedrooms are good sized. The furniture, lines and dishes all coordinate. This was a great place to stay and at a great price.
We had a great time staying at the Thompson House. We will definitely be back.
The house was clean. It had everything we need to spend a week there. Loved the location!! Just a short drive to all the locations we wanted to see.
It was a great time by all.
We had three couples that stayed and went four wheeling. It was nice to come home from a long day on the trail . Which it felt like. Home!
Exceeded our expectations
Very clean, well stocked linens, kitchen equipment, and towels. Comfortable and spacious, will defiantly return.
Very clean, large rooms.
Beautiful setting. Pronghorn were grazing out back, scenic drives nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff
