The place amazing when we arrived. Out of all the places we have stayed I would have to say this is the best and we hope to continue renting it in the future.
Came down with friends to get away from the daily grind. The location is great for fishing or just relaxing. We definitely will be back.

Great place to stay!
House is well kept and has plenty of room. We really enjoyed fishing off the boat dock at night and location next to the the state park. I highly recommend this property.
Property is well kept, house is spacious and clean. Location is great for fishing or just getting away. Looking forward to renting this property again.
The house is as described. There's some things missed in cleaning - the dishes needed to get rewashed. It's minimal and has what is needed for a stay but nothing more. The beds are present but are all not quite comfortable for any member of our party. The fishing in the back is great and the host was very quick at all communication.
This is a really lovely property. The owner was very responsive and ready to help with any of our needs! When fishing was on it was great under the lights!
Definitely the pictures did not do justice in showcasing how beauty this home is. Ample parking, plenty of beds and large gathering areas to sit and relax.

Thank you for the nice review and your suggestions for improving. The tv cord was replaced as well as the bad door knob! Thank you
This house we very clean with lots of space. The out door patio was very nice and relaxing. The house could have had some more basics ,salt pepper , cutter board, extra sheets/towels/blankets. Loved the place and would rent again.

Hi Felix , thanks for the nice review. I was unaware of the lack of cutting board and have already ordered several new ones on amazon. Items constantly disappear in the rental business and I do my best to keep the house stocked with basics
Second time staying at this property. Fun time fishing and playing games with family. Property was as described. Owner communication was prompt. Would stay here again.
My husband and I stayed here with two friends for 3 nights in March. The size of the house was perfect for our needs. The views from the front decks were entrancing, with Laguna Atascosa NWR just across the channel and the state park 2 doors down. We had the area to ourselves midweek. The fishing lodge next door filled up for the weekend. The location was handy for getting to good birding hotspots.

We rented the house again and enjoyed the get away. There were new added upgrades to the property. There was a new retainer wall, fishing dock and cleaning station. The area was well lite for night fishing. We BBQ every night and enjoyed the patio deck for gatherings. The house is very spacious and really clean. The owner Ben is always a text/email message away from answering any questions you may have. My family booked a fishing guide and they caught some nice big reds. We hope to come back again.
We have been renting this home from the owner several years now. This was my fathers favorite place. The owner is quick to reply to your questions and any concerns you may have.
The home is beautful and well kept. I loved the upgrades to the home. The porch is huge and great for hanging out. The string lights make the porch glow. The BBQ area is well lit while cooking in the evening.
The dock was our favorite hang out in the morning watching the beautiful wild life amd boats going by. My nephew liked fishing at night. The lighting is great. We were able to dock our boat next to the deck. We caught trout off the deck. The boys went out into the laguna and caught some big Red fish and a 25 inch trout.
We will be making our reservation for the next trip soon. Thank you again for allowimg us to stay at your beautful get away.
Great place. Had a total of six employees for a weekend getaway and everyone was comfortable. Had a blast on fishing pier and the boat slips was a plus. Will be a repeat customer.

About the host

I lived in Arroyo City for 8 years and now live about an hour away. I am a full time fishing guide on the Lower Laguna Madre. Thanks for checking out my listing and I hope to earn your business.
Why they chose this property
Arroyo City is a tiny fishing town at the end of the road and is one of the last of it's kind on the Texas coast. What it does not have is traffic, stoplights, and a variety of restaurants. What it does have is abundant and varied avenues for visitors and residents to enjoy the unique and beautiful subtropical climate, Lower Laguna Madre bay system, and surrounding south Texas brush country. Our town is surrounded by 92,000 acre Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge which helps protect the surrounding ecosystem and Lower Laguna Fishery from development.
The Refuge is one of the last remaining homes to the endangered ocelot, one of the rarest cats on the planet. Visitors come from all over the world to visit the Rio Grande Valley for bird watching opportunities that rival anywhere on earth. The refuge headquarters is about a twenty minute drive away and has some excellent hiking trails and nature tours.
The Lower Laguna Madre is unique in the fact that most of it's shorelines are protected by the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife refuge, King Ranch (825,000 acres), Kenedy Ranch, and Padre Island National Seashore. The entire bay system is extremely shallow with an average depth of 2-3 feet and holds approximately 75% of the seagrass on the Texas coast. This provides excellent habitat for bait fish and gamefish alike and keeps our waters very clear allowing for some of the best and most consistent sight-casting the Texas coast has to offer.
What makes this property unique
Spacious, 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, large two car garage, clean and very well-appointed. Our location is ideal because it is one of the most downriver homes on the entire arroyo. This is a perfect launching point for fishermen, bird watchers, duck hunters, winter texans, or groups up to 8 who would like to take advantage of the excellent recreational opportunities and peace and quiet this area provides. Landscaping features many native flowering plants to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
