Hi Carole apologies for those .. we have now replaced the fridge freezer completely and fixed the broken light fitting .. we hope to see you again in the future

Dear Jane, we are dissapointed and surprised you chose to review us so low. We dont feel this is at all a fair review or representation of the house.. You complained the beds were not the right configuration.. PURE the management company attended within 24 hours to change this to which you said "NO" and sent them away . You complained an ice machine wasnt working. We dont have an ice machine and .. the spare fridge in the utility room has an ice feature but it is not plumbed in.. because of this we DONT advertise it as a feature. It states this on the fridge The broken items were a broken caffitere a broken spatula and one light bulb.. all of which have been replaced. We have almost 14 guests every week , so items do get broken and we ask you to report these to PURE our managament company who will get them replaced. You informed us of these AFTER you had checked out. You have still not told us what is missing . You will find we have more plates , crockery, knives, mugs, cups, glasses , cutlery, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 fridges, pots, pans, saucers, coffee machines, than any other house , so to say we are lacking in items is quite strange and totally wrong. We acknowledge we had a leak in the roof which caused some water damage to one of the bathrooms . However given it rained very heavily every day , it is not possible other than to patch up until it is dry. this has subsequently been fixed. We offered you compensation due to one bathroom being out of use. Regarding poor equipment you reffered to the table tennis bats and balls and we apologise these were not all in working order.. more have been ordered Leaks, power outages, heating issues etc do happen. the house is occupied almost 40 weeks a year , generally with 14 people and we try to get on top of any maintenance where possible and to minimise any disruption to guests holidays. Sometimes however this is not always possible and will affect your stay as it has above . regards Lyndsey & Michael

Although I totally appreciate there were issues during your stay. I am not sure that your review fully accounts for the steps we took to rectify all issues during your stay. Hot water- The Handiman came to rectify this issue. He deemed the whole system to be in working order, and the he did turn up the thermostat, but also recommended that not all ten adults can shower at the same time. Utility light- the Handiman service concluded that there were no issues with the light. Sewage- The property has old clay pipes (along with most of Cornwall) so they can become blocked when guests, past and present, flush inappropriate items down the toilet. We are in Cornwall, and close to many beautiful beaches. Sand in the drains of the shower is a continuous battle especially in such a large property with many bathrooms. If guests shower with a copious amount of sand on them the drans will become blocked. This combined with the clay pipes means the system does back up. I mitigate this by getting the drains flushed twice in the summer season. I have also installed a hot water shower to enable guests to shower outside. I am sorry these steps didn’t prevent the issue while you were staying at the Bluehouse. I do appreciate this would affect your holiday. I believe you received Prosecco and chocolates as a of a small token to make up for this. I have asked for all of the shower drains to be double checked. Oven door- There are two ovens in the property. In one of the ovens the glass had slipped. The Handiman’s report stated that this had been glued and fixed as an interim fix during your stay. I have since ordered a new oven as a replacement oven has now been fitted. Fridge- With a large house and a number of people opening and shutting the door the hinges can fail. The fridge was brand new in February 2024. The Handiman came and looked into this issue within an hour of reporting. His report stated that the door had been slammed shut and so the top clip is broken. A new one has been ordered and fitted. Cafetière/ bottle opener, BBQ, Cleaning complaints were not reported to Pure during your stay. It is unfortunate that you decided not to report the BBQ to Pure as being dangerous and leaking gas. It would have been instantly disposed of. The bbq has now been disposed of and a new one has been ordered. Torches- this is a great idea, especially in a power cut, I am going to ordered 5 for the property. Overall, we try very hard to ensure guests have a great holiday and do our utmost to mitigate any problems if they do arise.
