About Elizabeth D & Jose Quintana
We have vacationed in many places, something always brought us back to San Carlos. The fact that it is so Un-Americanized yet a very SAFE area in the heart of Mexico. We love the people, the hard workers and the unique little marina. What a great town. Only 7.5 hrs drive from Arizona border. Its a charming scenic town. Saw dolphins often along the shore. Lots of neat beaches and good places to eat for a reasonable amount of money. Love the $2.00 crab tostadas, also the 60 peso lunch (about 4.50 USD) at Ernie’s is a great deal. Chips, salsa(two homemade kinds-very good) soup of the day and the main meal. Can’t afford to stay home for that price. Great area, near everything and wonderful view of the Tetakawi mountains. Sunday market at the nearby town of Empalme is fun and interesting. Not a tourist market. Don’t miss the Soggy Peso bar (also known as the Hang Out). Beautiful spot on the beach with hammocks and food and drink with great staff. Very safe town. Friendly people. The best Tacos is JJs Hut on main street (WHO CARES? NOBODY!)JJs motto; the best food ever! Us; well, we are just Two Country folks from Colorful Colorado " Paying it Forward"!

Why Elizabeth D & Jose Quintana chose Caracol Turístico
Our area has something for everyone! Everything is very close so, for water sports enthusiasts, there are beautiful sand beaches, spectacular diving and snorkeling, kayaking, and offshore fishing. San Carlos is only a 250 mile, 4-hour drive from Nogales, AZ on Mexico Highway 15, a four-lane divided highway. The community hosts an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts and numerous gift shops and galleries for shopping and browsing. For the boater, two marinas are available with paved launch ramps, dry storage facilities, complete marine repair and maintenance services, fuel docks and reasonable rates for slip rental. Numerous restaurants featuring seafood, Sonoran beef, Mexican dishes and American cuisine are located throughout the town. Prime real estate is available for sale and there are motels, hotels, RV Parks, condominiums and private home rentals to fit every group and budget. If you’ve not experienced the ambiance and relaxing lifestyle of a Mexican seaside resort, you owe it to yourself to visit San Carlos. You may never want to leave. San Carlos is a beachfront subdivision within the port city of Guaymas, in the northern state of Sonora in Mexico. It is noted for the exceptional clarity and warmth of the ocean water in its shallow bays. It lies on the body of water known as the Gulf of California or Sea of Cortez. Given the size of the city, with nearly 7,000 inhabitants, there is a remarkable number of RV parks, resorts and stores. There is also a very large and active diving community. The Guide to San Carlos provides information on all aspects of this delightful resort communi
What makes this House unique
Our views of the famous "Teta Kawi Mountain" is seen right outside your door. A walk to the Playa or Bay is just down the hill. There are plenty of beautiful beachfront resorts in San Carlos BUT, your quiet little "Bay Area" just feet away from the house, with safe swimming in the clear blue waters while relaxing on a beautiful sand beach will allure you, making your stay at our home worth the booking. If you are a golfer, there’s a very nice and affordable 18-hole public course in town where memberships are available but not required (and you can actually play without a collared shirt). If you are a sailor there’s not just one, but 2 full service marinas near our area with over 600 slips as well as ample dry storage. If you are a sport fisherman who charters a vessel from one of the many operators in town you’ll soon see why these waters in the Sea of Cortes are famous for abundant catches of marlin, sailfish, dorado, tuna, red snapper, yellow tail and grouper. If you are a pleasure boater you can watch dolphins dance with the whales, which can be found in our waters throughout most of the year.Great location!

Beautiful house and Beautiful Views
The house this very big! Three big bedrooms, two big patios. Very conformatable house. Beautiful kitchen and the several AC units keep the house Ice cold. The owner was very accessible and very responsive! The beach is a short walk from the house and very calm water, with great snorkeling opportunities in the rocks. Definitely the place to stay with a big familiy and every one will have plenty of space.
The Guests were amazing. The house was left in great order. It is amzing how people care about others homes as If it was their own. I recommend these guests to anyone on VRBO. We work hard to make our guests happy and it is rewarding to hear such great comments.
Nice place, plenty of room, clean, great views!
Loved the trip. Beautiful home with a great view overlooking the harbor. Group of friends went down, several couples, had a great time. Lots of room, clean and new. Owner was very accessible (available) to work out a few minor items that invariably will occur when travelling in Mexico :) AC units work well.
Thank you for coming. Please come again.
Beautiful Views and Casa! Would book there again for sure!
Enjoyed our stay and can wait to book again!
The Guests were amazing and took good care of the house. Would welcome them again anytime.
This was our second rental in San Carlos. Previously we had stayed at Playa Algodones, so there were pros and cons to the different location. Being on the Caracol Turistico was much quieter and the water was much calmer. We brought our own kayak and paddleboard and had many smooth water opportunities. The little beach was great - with many visiting sting rays! They were quite visible and seemed almost curious. Having access to the garage to store our gear was great!
The house was great -- lots of space for everyone. The house has all the amenities we needed for a great vacation. And it was perfectly clean. Lots of towels and beach towels. We had a fabulous view into the harbor area. We did yoga every morning on the second floor terrace. Fabulous! We all love San Carlos, and we had a wonderful time staying in your home. Thank you!
Thank You for staying in our house, I think I need to stay with you all next time, that YOGA sounds amazingly relaxing. Please come see us again. YOU all left the house so spotless., thank YOU for that.
Excellent location, near all the shopping areas, restaurants and bars.
