One Half of our Garage is available for Guests But it was Built in the 1990's and will not accommodate extra wide or long vehicles. 19ft length maximum Many trucks do not fit.

Jones E. Carriage House has it all; great location, dog friendly, luxury appointments, and off street parking with private entrance. The private entrance is from the lane behind our property. It's an easy walk to everywhere from here. Rents fast, so don't hesitate or your date will be gone. Experience the wonder of Savannah as it was meant to be explored on foot. This spacious, one room living area has everything you and your dog need to enjoy downtown Savannah. For those without Dogs we are people friendly as well. Jones E. carriage house has just been renovated and is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated.

SPECIAL NOTE: The Carriage House Is Only allowed by code to sleep TWO ADULTS plus children as of 2018. (two in a queen bed and the third using a our deluxe EZ bed ) The bed is a deluxe electrically powered inflatable bed with a nice padded cover. The bed is at normal height and on legs when fully inflated. You will need to deflate the bed during the day to move freely in the room.

Experience a fully stocked kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless appliances. The bed is queen size and there is an electric fireplace for a romantic ambiance with or without running the heater. Watch a flatscreen HDTV, read, or play games. Cook in, or take a short walk to one of the wonderful restaurants within a ten minute leisurely walk. You name it, this kitchen has it. Keurig coffee pot, toaster, cookware, bakeware and basic supplies such as oils and spices. High quality linens are included along with a hair dryer, shampoo, soaps, lotions, iron and ironing board.

The courtyard is shared with us and our dog (Freddie). Former guests will remember our amazing Dog Gus who was such a delight and a great greeter of all guests human and canine. Gus has gone to doggie heaven as of April 2025 and our new Pup Freddie has taken over his role. We live in the main house. The courtyard is complete with fountain and perfect for a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. You might catch us using our Big Green Egg for our outdoor cooking and would be happy to share our hot coals with you. As native Californians we use wine for cooking, drinking and making new friends. You will have private access to the carriage house from the lane. There is plenty of free parking on the street. Just be mindful of street sweeping hours.

Jones E. Carriage House is walking distance to everything in historic downtown Savannah. Have coffee in the courtyard then walk 2 blocks to the famous Clary's Cafe on E. Jones St. Stroll a few more beautiful blocks for shopping or dining at the landmark restaurant of Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room. Enjoy all the festivities Forsyth Park has to offer just a few blocks away. From the carriage house walk up Habersham St. through several lovely squares to River Street. Just as easily walk to City Market or to any of the many wonderful restaurants along the way. And of course the local dog park is just 1 block away! If you do run out of energy at the end of a long day, you simply need to hail one of the numerous Pedi-Cabs to bring you back home.

Jones E. Carriage House is perfect for anyone who is looking for a getaway and doesn't want to leave their dog at home. Stay for a long weekend or an entire week. You will love it. For a time my Husband and I worked as secret shoppers for the Ritz Carlton Hotel chain. Our job was to use all of the hotel services as undercover guests and report back to the management to help them maintain their 5 star rating. Studio apartment in the carriage house is cozy and clean, with plenty of room for 2 people and a pet. The location is great, in a quiet neighborhood in the historic district, and within walking distance of downtown. Having access to a spot in the garage is a big plus as well!

This was one of our best rentals on VRBO in a long while. The carriage house apartment was very comfortable and charming. We’ve never had trouble with parking when we stay in Savannah but having access to a garage was a major plus. My husband could park his car and not worry about it until check out. The host is very nice and attentive should a need arise. You can tell she really cares about your stay being a comfortable one. We had a lovely time.

The carriage house was wonderful. Centrally located in downtown Savannah less than a mile walk to the riverfront. As opposed to most rentals where we stay this one was appointed with very high-end furnishings and equipment. Everything was well thought out, right down to the dog food and water bowls already put out for us when we arrived. Greg met us when we arrived and gave us a walk-through tour of the house and then a full explanation of the carriage house. They also provided both electronically and in a guest booklet a list of things to do and restaurants to go to. I would certainly recommend this for anyone visiting Savannah, especially if you have a dog with you.

Greg and I moved to downtown Savannah in 2016, and we love it. We bought this unique brick 1866 townhouse with a lovely courtyard and carriage house. We've already renovated the carriage house and are currently working on the main house. We are anxious to share our new home with family, friends, and new aquaintances.
We have traveled the world and so have met many wonderful people along the way. We hope to keep making new friends and creating new stories to share. Greg and I are both pharmacists. He retired in 2020 from South University School of pharmacy. When we moved to Savannah I retired! I am now going to manage our carriage house vacation rental. I also quilt, quite a bit. You will see some of my art displayed in the carriage house.

Why they chose this property

When looking to buy a home for our move to Savannah, we thoroughly searched every area surrounding downtown. But we just kept returning to downtown for the vibrant energy that exists in the historic city. Our historic 1866 brick townhouse met all of our needs and we know you will love it also. You can walk to everywhere from here but the nights are quiet and peaceful and away from the noise of the night spots.

People who have never been to Savannah can be fooled by looking at a map. The neighborhoods here change block by block. A 200 foot difference can make a huge difference in your experience. this property is Safe , Quiet and close in to all the must see sights.

What makes this property unique

Jones E. Carriage House is in the absolutely best location of historic downtown Savannah. Walk everywhere. You can park on our driveway or on the street with no meters, just be mindful of the street sweeping hours. Once you arrive never drive again. Come relax and have a great time in Savannah.
