This was a great house on the Mississippi! We had 8 guys staying and there was plenty of places to sleep. We did a lot of fishing off the private dock and caught lots of fish. We cooked all of our meals using the clean kitchen and grill. It’s such a cool house and would be great for kids. I would love to come back! Highly recommend!
We had a great time at this cabin! It was perfect for a fun fishing trip — the view was beautiful, and the atmosphere had that classic rustic charm. The place was clean and well-maintained, which made it feel both cozy and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature!
We have stayed here many times. Have never been unhappy with anything. The host is very accommodating. The property is ideal for our family get aways to the river.
The AC unit was worked on the day before we got there. It was 80 degrees and humid in the house when we got there and went up to 83. The owners brought an oscillating fan to us the first night and an AC technician showed up the next day, who stated the fridgeration was low so added more. Even with us keeping the blinds shut and putting towels over windows without curtains the temp would rise to 80 degrees during daylight hours. The house would cool down on the overnight hours. The pictures online do not show the narrow spiral staircase to the lower or upper area. The front door lock was broke on the inside. You had to lock it from the outside, then walk around to sliding doors to get in. The booklet with instructions from the owners gave their cell numbers and said to call or text and when I called and politely greeted her and said who I was and then informed her of the temperature, she promptly told me to only text them. Anything left on the kitchen counter was covered in ants in the morning(which we never even mentioned as the owner seemed mad that we were uncomfortable with the high temps in the house.) As we were packing up, the owner was outside as the house next door was also theirs and rather than introducing herself, she was complaining about us expecting the house to be cooler than it was. I'm sure she didn't know we also were outside, but highly unprofessional. My first time using VRBO and a bad experience.
One of the cleanest & most well supplied stays we've had! If there was something we needed the host delivered to our door in a timely fashion! Beautiful views...nice dock...easy to get to.There are alot of stairs so not good if you cannot do stairs. Hope to stay there again

About the host
Hosted by Christy Bouska
We have vacationed in Harper's Ferry since the early 80's when I was a young girl. It was our solace and get away from our busy lives, looking at the river, the birds and nature. It was a quick walk to the dock for a boat ride for fishing, skiing, hitting a sand bar or just sight seeing. In the winter we would go sledding and tubing on some of the hills nearby. A quick drive to Lansing, Prairie du Chien or other towns, we were able to find something to do, eat or explore if we wanted to. Now we share these memories with our children, our extended families and friends, and we want others to share our cabin with others.
Why they chose this property
Our view and direct access is amazing. We have spent many hours watching birds, boats, stars and nature right in front of us. Its open floor plan allows for conversation and relaxation. It is steps away for fishing off the dock, even without a boat. And grilling while looking over the river- its amazing.
What makes this property unique
Amazing views, lots of outdoor space, and relaxing atmosphere. Family antiques, unique décor and other fun oddities are throughout the house. We have provided lots of games, indoor and outdoor, to have fun. Our cabin is designed to relax and unwind.
