About Kathy Myrick
We have owned our property and the 32 acres surrounding us since 1948. The old Greer road, built during horse and buggy times runs through our property. A truly family business--designed & built and managed by the Myrick's for family fun!
Kathy Myrick purchased this Cabin in 1996
Why Kathy Myrick chose Greer
If you are looking for an 'out in the woods' experience with the comforts of home, look no further! Our 4 cabins are located in the woods & surrounded by many acres of forest--away from the rat race, yet only a few minutes into the village for activities or restaurants!
What makes this Cabin unique
Our lovely Lamar Cabin is perfect for honeymoon & romantic getaways as well as smaller groups! Relax on the deck while cooking on the BBQ. Take the dog for a walk to the Greer Lakes & catch a couple trout or crawdads. :) One of my favorite pictures, when my children were little, is when they peeked out from a mini "cave" in the big boulders a short walk up the ridge behind our cabins! Be sure to catch a view of the Greer Lakes while there. Catch the aspens change colors in the fall! Sunrise Ski Park Resort is 15 minutes away for downhill skiing & just down the road are trails for cross country skiing! Or just stay on site and relax in the huge double jaccuzi bathtub, play board games or puzzles. Hook up your HDMI cable to our smart TV for digital games! During winter months, build a snowman or have snowball fight & watch the little ones sled on our hill!

Nice cabin on a quite lot off the main road. The cabin was clean and well equipped. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing getaway!
Peaceful. So quiet during the week day stay. Cabin was clean. Beds were comfortable enough. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Living room furniture was just ok, not the most comfortable for sitting (futons). All in all it was nice.
Our stay was awesome!!! Great scenic views , weather was perfect . Over all great experience. We will definitely stay here again .
Wish we could have stayed longer.
Everything was absolutely perfect! The setting for all 4 Myrick Cabins is excellent, tall pines and flowering meadows separate each cabin offering privacy and tranquility. 3 Adults and 2 small dogs spent 3 peaceful nights at Lamar Cabin. We all agree listening to the whispering pines, an afternoon thundershower, cooking steaks on the grill and outdoor dining is the best cure for the overwhelming Phoenix heat. The cabin is well equipped and comfortable, clean as a whistle and rusticly charming. Beds are great and ceiling fans in every room made for "good sleeping weather."
We will return as soon as possible for another great vacation, and stay longer. Thank you Kathy & Cliff.
It’s our happy place!
This was our second stay at this cabin. It’s located in a nice area close to town. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We will be back!
We enjoyed our stay but had a rocky start when we arrived late evening to find the refrigerator had been turned off. We turned it on and it worked properly but we had to use a cooler and go to the local store for ice for the first night while it got to a safe temperature. Additionally some noisy neighbors for the first 2 nights showcased how close together the group of 4 cabins were .
the location is otherwise great.
My sincere apologies about the refrigerator. My staff must have forgotten to turn it back on after cleaning it. :)
Regarding noisy neighbors...our cabins are situated on 2 acres which gives more room between cabins than most in Greer but sound can travel at night. Our quiet hours follow typical times from 10Pm-7am. We've found that usually if our guests are a bit too loud, it is just excitement about their stay in the mountains and they don't even realize they are disturbing others. Just nicely bringing it to their attention --either by stopping by or giving me a call so I can ask them to tone it down a bit solves the problem. :)
Greer is one of the coolest places in the state during the hot desert summer months! At 8500 ft elevation the Greer valley is nestled in beautiful pines. Easy walking distance to the 3 trout stocked Greer lakes or a short drive to numerous rivers, lakes & streams. Hiking, horseback riding are nearby as well. If you are just looking to relax, sit outside on the porch or picnic table & play horseshoes, or volleyball & sit by the campfire & make smores during the evening!
