About this property
Amazing Sea Views, New Kitchen, Family Friendly, Easy Walk to 3 Beaches
We always try to look after our guests so that if you have to cancel because you are in lockdown and are not able to travel, we do offer a full refund. If you just change your mind then the cancellation rules apply as stated on our website.
Reinga has the best views in town of the river mouth and ocean! It has magnificent views from both front and back decks overlooking the ocean, the rivermouth and Ben Boyd National Park. Experience the sun rise over the ocean without leaving your bed, see the whales and dolphins from the deck and each day watch the sea eagles as they soar up and down the river. Whale watching season is October and November so why not come for the Whale Festival in Eden on Melbourne Cup long weekend. The whale numbers have increased enormously in recent years and many thousands of whales pass by each year as they head back to Antarctica with their calves. They can easily be seen from our front deck. Bring binoculars for an even better view of them or catch a whale watching boat tour from Merimbula.
The house has recently been renovated with a brand new kitchen with new appliances, including a dishwasher, installed in November 2019. Most rooms are freshly painted and the beautiful Tasmanian hardwood floors have just been polished.
This is a very private house where the only noise you hear is the sound of the ocean at night. Sit on the back deck at night and see a million stars.
The house faces north so in summer you get shade on the front deck when the sun warms up and in winter you have sun on the deck all day. Perfect!
Kangaroos bounce through the property each day and if you are lucky a shy echidna may appear.
So Much to do so Close...
In less than five minutes walk you can be on the beach. This is a great place to get fit as you decide which activity to do next: walk along the beach (all the way to Merimbula if you are feeling energetic!), surfing, swimming, golf, bowling, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horse riding, boating, bike riding, sailing etc.
Or you can just sit on the beach and read a book or stay right where you are on the deck and have another cup of tea instead!
It is a short walk down to the cafe to get the morning papers and milk, 2kms into Pambula town for all supplies or 7kms into Merimbula for the best coffee on the south coast, restaurants, golf, tennis, movies, shopping, pubs, clubs etc. Accessible by road or bike track.
So What's in the House?
The house is very light with views from nearly every room. There are two bedrooms (Queen bed in main and bunk room with single/ double bed). The lounge/ kitchen is spacious with large windows overlooking the river and ocean. Facilities include LCD TV, DVD, CD player, dishwasher, stove and oven, microwave. Covered front deck has Weber Q BBQ and dining setting. The back deck also has an outdoor dining setting. Very clean bathroom and separate bath for young children. Fully equipped brand new kitchen just installed in November 2019 with all new appliances, including a dishwasher.
Three separate eating places - you decide where you want to eat (inside, outside, sun or shade!) but there's no escaping that view! Carport beneath.
You will need to bring your own sheets, towels, bath mat and tea towels but all else will be in the house. We do this to keep the price reasonable for you as there is no further cost for extra guests. Same price for 2 guests or 4 or 5. Please note that you can hire linen packs (for couples or a family) from Merimbula Holiday Hire which will be delivered to the house before you arrive and picked up after you leave. You will need to organise this separately.
Please note that this is a smoke-free and pet free house.

About the host
Hosted by Sue

This property has been in our family for many decades. As we live in Melbourne we can't get up to Pambula as often as we would like, so we are able to rent it out and share it with you. We have been coming to this area for a very long time and can fill you in on what to see in the district. Each of our tenants will receive a detailed list of things to see and enjoy in the area.
Why they chose this property
It's hard to beat the views at Reinga so when the opportunity came up to buy this house, we didn't hesitate.
What makes this property unique
The house faces north so the sun streams in. In fact the aspect works so well that in winter we get sun on the front deck for most of the day and in summer we get sun in the early morning and then shade when you need it. Perfect!
There are fabulous views from both the front and back decks and it's a perfect place to take the binoculars and watch the whales breaching from the comfort of your own deck.
If you like exercise there is swimming and surfing at the nearby beaches, snorkelling round the rocky shores, cycling 10kms in to Merimbula on the bike track, walking on the many tracks along the beach, river, into town and through the wetlands and of course many fabulous golf courses to choose from. You will never be bored staying in this area, there is so much to do. Or stay on the deck, read a book and do nothing else if you prefer! The choice is yours.
