Good location size of house was good relaxing time ,cleaning wasn’t up to scratch .Plus some one had graffiti on the wall in master bedroom and back toilet wall and you could still see it which I think wasn’t very nice too see
Thank you
This house is modern, in close proximity to shops/restaurants and has everything to you need for a great stay. The only thing that let this house down was its cleanliness. Empty bottle of milk drink on bedside table, rubbish under beds, carpets didn't look they had been vacuumed and coffee table had cup stains and crumbs.
We requested on a Wednesday to book this property for the Saturday. It took over 24 hours for confirmation, which left us on edge about potentially not being able to proceed and then cutting it too close to book another property.
The property is managed by a property manager, who is lovely, and provided most information.
Drop box made check in easy. However, A check in QR code was sent to check in for Covid reasons, but for the wrong address. The water was also not connected upon arrival, with no instructions via email or a hard copy book in house to fix this. We managed to do this ourselves eventually.
The ad said linen was not provided, but there was linen on all beds when we arrived. The ad also said that beds were Queens - they are doubles and are VERY hard. I’m not one to complain about a place to sleep, but I had about one hour of sleep the first night due to the small and uncomfortable bed.
There were ample dishes, pots, cleaning products and basic food essentials in the house which was great. However, we found things like half-used condensed milk that had solidified and out of date products. Many dishes and cupboards were not overly clean.
Other than that, the house was presented very well with a large living area and kitchen and two bathrooms.
There is no backyard (photo of outdoor area is on the street with no fence) but the house does overlook a nice lake. There is not much around, no cafes within 1km. Probably a tad too far to walk to the main shops, particularly in the winter. The street was quiet and pretty, though.
A $300 bond was required upon booking and was returned 1.5 weeks later.
A good option for a last minute booking, but probably won’t book here again.
We absolutely loved it, the weather was abit miserable ,but we didn't mind, the house was so cozy with its beautiful living room and big kitchen with a bench and stools, staying indoors in this beautiful house with friends was just perfect
The kitchen was well equiped and the bedrooms were nice and clean.
We would definitely come again
The location of the property and the actual house were great. Lovely looking house and in a nice area, across from a walking track and close to the beach.
Kitchen and bathroom facilities were good, bbq to use and double car garage.
However if you are a family or group and/or staying for an extended time this property does not have the extra comforts you will need.
-No wifi but also no phone reception.
-Broken dishwasher that we notified real estate of but nothing was done.
-DVD player didn’t connect to tv.
-No washing line and dryer took hours to dry.
-No fenced outdoor area, outdoor area is in the front and very close to the road, no space for children to play that is safe.
-Mattress’ were very uncomfortable.
-No mop bucket to clean the floors.
-No high chair so not great for young kids.
-Key was not left in drop box for us, meaning we had to go down to real estate to pick up and got into the property an hour late.
-Real estate were not helpful when it came to communication via phone or email and being in the centre of town it was hard to get parking to go into the shop.
-No information left for visitors (how things work, how to leave the property, food suggestions).
-Linen had to be provided by us which was fine, but all beds were made when we arrived., which meant we had to unmake them and remake them before leaving.
-Bins were full when we arrived and didn’t get emptied until the day before we left (stayed 11 days) meaning we had mountains of rubbish all week.
Overall the whole experience was pretty disappointing, for a family that doesn’t get to holiday very often, it’s a lot of money to spend considering all the inconveniences.
I would suggest the owners look at changing property managers as the real estate was very disappointing. And I would also suggest not using HomeAway as they charge a large booking fee just for booking through the app. Wasn’t aware this is what I was paying for when I booked. Won’t be using the service again!
Our stay was great, the house was well stocked with plenty of plates and cutlery, condiments and toilet paper. 2nd bed was a double not a queen as listed. Apart from that the property was as described. There was also a BBQ.
