A retreat from the masses

Set in a beautiful bush setting, the property has all of the comforts needed for a fuss free holiday. We appreciated the pantry items and access to produce in the orchard. Great walks around the property and lots of space, both inside and out, to spread out and relax. Well suited to families, with the towns of Anglesea and Torquay a short drive away. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Peaceful bush retreat!

We had a wonderfully relaxing and peaceful stay in Bellbrae! We would high recommend this wonderful home! A 15 min drive to many terrific beaches. The house layout is very family friendly with privacy and several living areas, and the bush land behind the house is magic. Kitchen brilliantly equipped. A terrific holiday! 5 stars.

Amazing holiday destination

We have just returned from our wonderful holiday at Jan's place. It is truly a special place. We all arrived desperately hoping for a relaxing break away and we were treated to just that. We felt like we were away in the bush but had the luxury of also enjoying Jan's lovely house with all the Home comforts. When the weather allowed we also lite the camp fire at night which we all loved. Jan was also amazing with communicating with us when needed. I couldn't recommend this place more... It's fantastic!! Thanks so much Jan!

Just what the Doctor ordered!

After the year that 2020 was, spending 2 weeks at Jan's bush retreat was just what we (4 adults, 4 kids) needed. The outlay of the house was perfect, as the location - 10 mins from Torquay, Anglesea and Pt Addis. We enjoyed nights around both the campfire and internal fireplace watching movies from Jan's DVD collection. The 2 living spaces were great - kids at one, parents at the other with a door in between ;) The kids loved the abundance of space to explore, ride their bikes and play cricket while also enjoying the games and puzzles inside. The phrase 'get off technology' was a distant memory ;) We visited the chocolate factory, did day trips to the different beaches & towns and enjoyed horse riding at the nearby Spring Creek Trails. The WIFI was super reliable for when we needed to connect with family and friends over Christmas & NYs and stay in touch with the world. An amazing place to stay that we will definitely head back to soon! 5/5. Thanks, Jan!

Absolutely Perfect

This property was a perfect place for our long weekend away. It housed our two families (4 adults, 4 kids 7-12yo) comfortably without any feeling of being 'on top of each other'. It was well maintained with a lovely big kitchen and a variety of living spaces. We felt like we were in our own private bush retreat with plenty of room for the kids to roam while we were able to relax on the back deck. The kids (and adults) thoroughly enjoyed going yabbying in the dam and enough were caught to introduce them to the 'sport' of yabby racing. The outdoor firepit was an added bonus and it was lovely to sit around it at night and see the stars. This property made it feel like we had the advantages of camping but with the comforts of home, plus it was an easy drive to the beautiful Addis beach. Jan was a wonderful host who gave us all the information we needed about the property which made it super easy to find and to settle straight in. Our only negative was that we wished we could have stayed longer, we will definitely be back!!

This house was very comfortable and extremely well equipped and really felt like you were staying with friends rather than a guest house. The kitchen had everything you need, there were games, DVDs and music. The decor was earthy and comfortable and overall it was an excellent place to stay. The location is extremely close to Bells Beach so would be a great place to stay for the Rip Curl pro. Pt Addis is a fantastic beach and wonderful for children as it's protected and has some gentle but surfable waves. Think it sleeps 6 adults really comfortably, would only push it to 8 if some of those 8 were kids.

Fantastic, tranquil place in great location

The house is a good size and is in immaculate condition. It feels deep in the bush and has a feel of being very private and very peaceful... It's very quiet although it's excellent location means it's only a short drive along a gravel road to The Great Ocean Road between Anglesea and Torquay. The house is well equipped and really feels like a home from home. Our kids loved playing in the tree house and around the substantial grounds. The owner was very helpful and genuine and we would not hesitate to recommend this place.

AMAZING FAMILY GETAWAY

The Bush and Beach Retreat exceeded our expectations. This place is so spacious, with a magnificent interior. The surrounds made for a very relaxing time - we felt very secluded. We enjoyed yabbying and even had a campfire in the evening. There was an impressive selection of DVDs to choose from, and the kitchen was very well equipped! The only complaint we would have is that the holiday was just not long enough!

AMAZING FAMILY GETAWAY

We loved our stay at the Bush & Beach retreat! The place is so large, and the interior is beautiful. We felt very relaxed and secluded. Views out of every window are perfect. We yabbied and even had a campfire one night. Enjoyed the large selection of DVDs to choose from in the evenings. Kitchen was well equipped, loved having our breakfast on the big deck overlooking the bush and native wildlife. The only complaint we would have is that we did not stay long enough!

Idyllic!

Our family loved our stay here. We were there for four nights, which wasn't long enough! The house was very well equipped, with everything we needed. I can't find a thing to fault. The setting was beautiful and it was a great location - only 10 minutes from Torquay or Anglesea. We'd love to come back, for a longer stay next time.

Just what we have been looking for!

Totally loved our stay at the house, very easy and comfortable. The outdoor space is a treat with bonfires and outdoor settings. The inside is cosy, clean and has everything you need. We have a young family and it kept the kids safely occupied while we were able to enjoy a wine around the fire...heaven really. Also super easy access to Torquay and beach with beautiful scenery along the way. Will be back for sure!

We loved the peacefulness and feeling of "being in the bush". However, the property is close to shops and the coast. The house has a lovely calm feel. We were a family of four and felt comfortable and that the house was spacious. Seeing the kangaroos and waking up to the birds song were just what we needed. Thanks Jan.

Absolutely loved this beautiful property, the photos just don't do it justice! We spent the NYE period there and had an excellent time around the campfire which was already set up for us. Beautiful outdoor deck where we had most of our meals overlooking the grounds. Very spacious living areas to relax. Jan was fantastic - very lovely and informative and made the booking process very easy. Thank you!
