About Martha Humphrey
I am a creative type and have loved calling Portland my home for almost 16 years. I have 2 kids, in middle and high school, and we keep busy enjoying all that Portland has to offer, from open air concerts, art festivals and street fairs, to simple walks around the beautiful tree-lined neighborhood with our little dog, Benjamin. We love to kick about, take hikes, go bike riding, and play tennis. I have a small business in the creative industry. We are very in to having travelers stay in our new lovely private guest house, whether from nearby towns, across the country, or from another continent. We look forward to helping your stay be a relaxing and wonderful adventure and are happy to help out with recommendations for restaurants, entertainment, gardens, museums, and day trips.
Martha Humphrey purchased this Guest House in 2016
Why Martha Humphrey chose Irvington
Historic Irvington is close in to all the excitement and beauty of the city of Portland, yet our guesthouse is nestled on a quiet tree-lined street. So close to restaurants, bars and shops, the MAX light rail, and the street car, and close enough to the convention center to walk there. The guest house was newly build in 2016. It is clean and modern while matching the historic 100 year old character of the main home and neighborhood. Everything is so accessible you don't need a rental car to get around!
What makes this Guest House unique
The Professional kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need to cook meals and relax in the home. The large bathroom has a spa-like feel and a shower that comfortably fits two. And the fun ship's ladder to the bedroom makes the bedroom feel like a secret retreat!

Home away from Home
Martha was a perfect hostess, always helpful without being intrusive. Accommodations were comfortable and attractive. I would definitely book with her again.
Nice cottage in a quiet neighborhood.... Close to the downtown areas....
Thanks for a fun stay.... Nice place.....
Great location, wonderful host!
We loved the cottage, it had everything we needed and more! Martha was amazing, she was very helpful and not obtrusive at all. We will definitely stay here again
The place was very clean and modern, ample of amenities that provided comfort and convenience.
Host was very easy to reach and made sure our comfort and enjoyment were met throughout our stay.
Great little cottage!
This was a perfect place for our visit to Portland. With a cnvenient location in a quiet neighborhood this was way better than a hotel. The space is used efficiently but still has a great kitchen. We would definitely come back.
convenient, quiet location
The guest cottage was in a great location. It was easy to get to many of the main attractions we went to in Portland, but still located in a quiet neighborhood. Martha was very accommodating and gave us good advice on local attractions to visit and restaurants that met our needs. The cottage itself had everything we needed and was a good size space for the two of us. Street parking was easy to find.
