It's perhaps best known for its picturesque bridge and the old Quechee Mill which now houses the Simon Pearce glassblowing center. The area is not short on natural wonders. The nearby mountains provide amble multi-use trails which are ideal for hiking, mountain biking and equestrian activities, while the Quechee Gorge which cuts through it is simply awe-inspiring. Nature lovers will relish a visit to Quechee State Park. While the park is relatively small compared to most national state parks, it teems with species. A hike through it often reveals white-tailed deer, busy beavers, crooking American toads and yellow-spotted salamanders. While we don't recommend getting up close, you may very well spot an ambling black bear or the odd elusive mountain lion. Bring you binoculars, because above you can often see circling golden eagles and red-tailed hawks. It's easily reached from your Quechee vacation rental.
