The cabin was fun and comfortable except for the couch. There was also a beeping smoke alarm that took 2 hours to get traded out on the 2nd floor. Still and enjoyable stay.

Lovely secluded cabin

This is a lovely little cabin that puts you close to Helen and many hiking trails but far enough away that you can truly relax after a long day of exploration. We love that this cabin was at the end of the road and the view from the porch was all nature. The bed was extremely firm so not fantastic for us side sleepers and the couch could use an update as it is well loved. But otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and especially relaxing in the hot tub to wind down after tootling around town.

Good place to stay for the price point

We stayed here for 3 weeks. We appreciated the private screened in porch with hot tub, the fire place, and the location is perfect--within 30 minutes to so many beautiful hiking experiences, wineries, and just a couple minute drive to shopping/restaurant options in Helen. Future guests should be aware that the bedroom is upstairs and the toilet is downstairs, the nearest laundromat is in Helen. Not having a proper heating system in the downstairs was challenging at times, but for the price and location, we were willing to put up with the inconveniences. It is great to have options like this available that don't break the bank!

Needs repairs.

No air conditioner downstairs. Mold on walls downstairs, checkout time too early. Hot tub cover needs repair. Very musty smelling, thought we were going to have to leave. Very disappointing.

Just ok…

Upon arrival, we noticed the cabin smelled strongly of smoke. The heating was very inadequate for the space, a Window unit upstairs kept us warm in bed. Of the two space heaters provided only one is functional. Some of the over stove eyes don’t worn and broil on the stove. The internet would not connect. Hot tub was in need of a clean but not terrible. On a positive note the cabin was cute, nicely located and reasonably priced had all the listed amenities work.

Disliked: Communication
Lack of cleaning and communication about no motorcycles. No communication until trip was paid and no refunds… fair at best as far as cleaning of cabin. We always leave a tip but after I spent over an hour plus cleaning I figured I earned that tip myself. Dog hair etc all over steps going upstairs as well as everywhere else, bobby-pin in bedroom floor and I don’t use them, etc etc. it’s an OK cabin if cleanliness isn’t a priority. I prefer CLEAN!

Unhappy

While our first impressions was great as the first night approached we quickly realized that was not the case.. The. Bathtub had a leak which kept the bathroom floor wet, while we were ok with not having central heat/air the little space heaters they provided took forever to heat up the cabin, we could never get the tv to connect to the internet so we were never able to utilize being able to watch any kind of tv, the floors had dirt all under the rug and couch, but the worst part of our stay was at night when we tried to sleep. There is a large tree pressed against the cabin that also has branches reaching onto the roof so every night as the wind picked up we were constantly woke up with the banging of the tree against the cabin and the limbs tapping on the roof. There was a complaint made in hopes that something would be done atleast with the limbs since we would be there 3 nights but unfortunately nothing ever happened and we had to endure that the whole time.. while the cabin itself was quaint these issues made for a very unpleasant experience. With a stay that cost over 600 the only compensation they gave us was a refund of 89. I expected better.

Do Not Stay. Go Elsewhere

If you work hard for your money and want to stay somewhere nice, go elsewhere. Vacasa is a complete fraud. We arrived to find the cleanliness was lacking entirely. We didn’t want to sit on the couch nor bare feet on rug and floor. We had to go out and buy our own sheets, pillows, and comforter. The only main heat source was a window unit in the loft 25ft in the air. Heat rises. Therefore, at 20 degrees outside it’s that cold downstairs each night and morning. There’s two portable plug in heaters that we don’t feel safe allowing them to run overnight. So when it’s cold you take advantage of the woodburning fireplace. Not so much. Our second night we started a cozy fire to sit fireside. Nope!! We had to extinguish the fire due to the flue is broken shut. Our cabin filled with smoke. We had to open all windows and doors to allow the smoke to escape. And this is with it in the 20s outside. All our clothes and belongings were smoke damaged. The next day the home office asks if there’s still smoke in the cabin. What??!! Are we ok…nope. Are our things damaged…nope. Not one question about our wellbeing. Not one offer to stay elsewhere. nothing was available in the area for the remainder of our stay. Therefore, no choice but to remain there. Two trees laying on the side of the roof. All day and night there’s popping noises from the tree moving the roof structure. They don’t care. We left a bad review on Vacasa and they declined to credit us for our stay Cause the bad review.

Great location but probably wouldn't stay again

We were so excited to have this getaway weekend and the pictures looked so nice. We received a text saying we were welcome to check in around 3pm and were already in the area. When we arrived, the code would not work and I had to wait on hold for 15ish minutes to speak with a person. Positively, the lady was very nice and fixed the issue pretty quickly. After getting in the cabin, everything was very damp and had a weird smell. We had to put a towel on the couch before sitting on it. Everything needed to be cleaned before using, so I had to hunt for a store to buy cleaning supplies and clean the bathroom and kitchen the 1st night of our weekend getaway. There was still a pan of food in the microwave. The sickly sweet syrup smell was extremely overpowering, luckily I found the plug in and unplugged it. Later we wanted to utilize the hot tub, but it had a yellow green sludge on the top of the water, so I also had to clean the hot tub. We only stayed 2 days and were not in the cabin most of the day on Saturday. There were large spiders inside the cabin, which I understand it is in the woods, but I saw 4 different spiders INSIDE. After checking out, and leaving the place much cleaner than we found it, we received an email with a damage claim from a little chip in the bathroom sink that was already there before we checked in. I have never felt more like I have to walk through and talk pictures of EVERYTHING before we can enjoy ourselves. The secluded location was perfect, but this was the worst cabin experience yet, and we stay in a cabin 3 to 4 times a year. I feel we paid a lot for the 2 night stay based on how amazing the pictures looked, but it was definitely false advertising and not worth the money or time spent here.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in
My wife and I spent three nights at the cabin, hoping for a cozy and charming getaway. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations. The cabin shows clear signs of needing renovation—particularly in the bathroom, where we noticed water damage on the floor. A strong scent of air fresheners seemed to be masking a persistent mildew odor, which detracted from the overall comfort. The furniture was outdated and worn, and the lighting was inadequate throughout — aside from a harsh overhead fixture that did little to create a cozy atmosphere. While the kitchen was functional, it felt dated and could benefit from some modernization. In its current condition, the cabin doesn’t offer the quaint, relaxing atmosphere we were looking for. Regrettably, we wouldn’t recommend it until improvements are made.

Slimy hot tub

This cabin is only appealing if you want to use the hot tub or the jetted tub. The hot tub was slimy, jetted tub does not work. Called and was basically blamed because I didn’t call at 930-10 pm to have some stranger waste my less than 24 hour stay or gone in at late hours of the night. I specifically asked if the hot tub could please be cleaned and ready to use the day before arrival. Don’t waste your money. I have videos of the filth but can’t upload them.

Great two night stay

Definitely a good two night last minute get away for my husband & I. For the price it’s definitely worth it. The hot tub was our main want and it didn’t disappoint. Got in some good R&R. Would definitely go back and it’s very close to Helen.

Perfect weekend getaway

The area was great and the cabin was perfect for a couple going on a weekend trip. It had all the amenities you would need. The bed was my personal favorite, it may have been the comfiest I’ve ever slept in! All in all, the cabin was cozy and we plan to be back!

Just Don’t

The price and location are the positives. If you are a single male and looking for a secluded cabin, this would be for you. However, if you are traveling with a female guest I would suggest going with another property. There are a lot of things that need attention. First, it just needs a facelift with an interior design eye. Trim work is shoddy, needs new dishes, small appliances, couch, pictures, and window fixtures. The jet bath upstairs doesn’t work. It would benefit from ripping that out and putting a half bath in so you wouldn’t have to go downstairs to use the restroom. The heating is another issue. There is only heat upstairs so you will be using the small space heater upstairs. The biggest issue that will have most guest running for the exit is there is a mammal living in the wall behind the shower. I walked around to the back of the cabin and the underpinning is plastic. Being from the south, the critter didn’t bother me much but my wife had a different opinion. I would say it’s a rat, raccoon, or squirrel that has burrowed up into the space. You can hear it scratching at night. No joke. So, all in all, if you just need a place to stay and could care less about the issues mentioned, this is a great stay. Otherwise, spend the extra $200 and get a nicer cabin.
