Dear Scott, We appreciate your comments, as they allow us to continually evaluate and enhance our services. But we'd like to clarify a few things regarding your review. We maintain high standards for cleanliness and property quality, and we believe the issue, unpleasant smell, pool full of mold, was not being reported and never happened in our hosting experience. The presence of leaves in the pool and minor wind-related debris was due to strong winds on the day of your check-in. These were temporary conditions caused by the weather, and our team was fully prepared to address them immediately. Had you informed us directly, we would have promptly dispatched our pool and cleaning maintenance staff immediately to restore the property to its usual pristine condition. Following your left, another guest stayed at the property soon after. We proactively informed them of your feedback prior to their arrival to ensure they were fully aware. Despite this, they chose to proceed with their reservation and shared the following review with us: "My wife and I always read reviews, and then we make it a habit of researching a property before investing our hard-earned vacation money into a VRBO property. We saw this bad and super ugly letter/review about UU Mansion. I think maybe this party left or canceled last minute, but we were able to take their reservation and report we were happy to have done so. Reading the negative letter/review concerning the UU Mansion something felt disingenuous and mean spirited -- Maybe it was an excuse to re-book last minute and to join friends or family on the Vegas strip but we could be mistaken. Maybe there was a language issue with the Asian staff? We honestly just laughed and stayed for the same three days at UU Mansion, and we found it very nice. Really nice, actually. We have a seven-year-old daughter who was in heaven swimming in the pool and under the cool waterfall in the hot spa. My wife is Japanese and OCD when it comes to dirt, and I'm sorry, but I don't know what these other folks are referring to. We had a first-hand experience and can report that the UU Mansion was "spic-n-span" clean at high Japanese wife cleanliness standards. I will say that the estate is super kid friendly, and the game room with ping pong, darts, foosball, etc., was an instant family activity. We intended to visit the Las Vegas Strip but loved the UU Mansion and came back in a couple of hours. Privacy is another important factor for us and SAFETY, and the tree house with the garden nearby allowed us to be nearby with our ice cream that was provided by the staff because they knew we had a child-- and was able to keep an eye on our daughter. We can't think of a negative issue - towels good; easy entry; quiet; spacious kitchen for a king and queen and artistic decor that was perhaps inspired by the Ming Dynasty. Has anyone stayed at the "Madonna Inn" in San Luis Obispo, CA? UU Mansion has a similar "theme destination vibe" except perhaps a larger scale. Two thumbs up for UU Mansion from our family.
