Our passion for authentic mid century furniture is apparent as you walk through the home. Admire the beauty of the natural materials - the colors, patterns, and simple clean lines that is the appeal of this era.

Spectacular 2500 sq. ft. 'Richard Lietch' mid century house built in 1961, located in Eureka's prime neighborhood. Walls of glass bring in an abundance of light and beauty of the outdoors. Terrazzo tile entrance, travertine fireplace in the family room, updated kitchen counters with granite countertops, large master suite with unimaginable closet space, 3 more bedrooms with built-in desks and drawers, 2 bathrooms with bath tubs and separate showers, a living room, laundry room with washer/dryer, and a 2-car garage.

All authentic mid century furniture, art, pottery, Fiesta ware and vintage china for your use!

The Sequoia Park & Zoo, St. Joseph's hospital, Henderson Center, and Eureka High School are all nearby.

No pets, no parties/events, no smoking allowed.

Excellent place, very spacious!

I had such an amazing experience in this house! The house is very spacious. Two living rooms, beautiful patio, plenty of extra blankets. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The check in process was very easy and the host made everything easy.I highly recommend this host!

Perfect mid-century modern getaway

We loved our stay! The house was everything we could have asked for and matched the listing perfectly. The attention to detail was fantastic and the house was so well cared for. We would love to go back and spend more time there as it truely felt like a hidden gem!

We came for a family event. Seven of us, my daughters family and us grands. Beautiful house that met our needs. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy ourselves.

Driving down the west coast

I love like mid-century house. Eureka is perfect spot to stop from Portland to San Francisco. We were a group of eight, and we were very comfortable in the house. We were near by the Sequoia redwood forest and we got to experience the serenity and grandeur of this beautiful forest.

We will be coming back next year!

This place is so fun! It’s like staying in the Brady bunch house! You could tell every last detail was well thought out and executed. From furniture, decor, and kitchen items.. you were dropped into the 70s. Tons of space to roam. Amazing natural light. Board games, extra towels, blankets, baby toys etc. all there available for use. The Beds are super comfortable. We had 8 adults and a 6 month old

Eureka Mid-Century

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property. The house is incredible from an architectural perspective. A mid-century style gem built with extreme skill. The layout is great for an extended family with plenty of room for everyone. Wonderfully furnished with a well stocked kitchen. There are even games, puzzles, and toys on hand. The host is an excellent communicator and is nearby if needed. We have family in Eureka that we visit a couple times a year and an extended family with our daughters’ families. We’ll be back!

Amazing and unique home

I enjoyed the architecture of this home. Spacious! Good location. Hostess was very thoughtful and responsive. 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Perfect for families or friends who vacation together.

Interesting Property and Great Host

We stayed at this great property for a family vacation. The house was clean and stocked with all the amenities. We all had a great stay. We enjoyed the outdoor patio. The property has interesting decor with lot of natural lighting. There are some good restaurants and stores located close to the property.

A family retreat

Every year our grown children & their children gather with us to relax & reconnect. This year we enjoyed living in a Sunset Magazine home for a full week, taking advantage of its close proximity to the redwoods and beach. We feel so grateful for the experience.

A Wonderful Gathering Place

We rented this home as a gathering place over a family wedding weekend. All communicating with the owner was easy and she gave prompt replies. The home was easy to find and instructions for getting in were clear and easy to follow. Everything was clean and set up just as we expected. There was plenty of room for us to come together and relax. The neighborhood is fantastic. Quiet, safe and beautiful to walk in. The home also feels safe and has a gorgeous backyard to enjoy. It in very conveniently located but in a quiet setting. There is plenty of parking. If we ever needed to, I wouldn't hesitate to rent this home again. We enjoyed it very much.

Fantastic hideaway

This is home is gorgeous and spacious! It's meticulously decorated in period decor and very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is lovely and great for taking walks. We would definitely stay here again!

Specific

This house would be amazing for a themed era gathering of friends though parties are not permitted, if I recall. There is an impeccable 60’s/70’s nostalgia about it…Seriously!!! The only thing that left us a little uneasy, that wasn’t obvious from pictures, is that the back yard is not fenced in for privacy. Anyone walking down the street used for parking access could see what’s happening in the backyard or into the house if blinds are open. Not what we would typically want from a VRBO stay. The heating system was loud and clangy at night as well. Woke a few times due to my nerves regarding the open access to back yard and sliding glass doors. It’s just not the place for us. I’m sure others would love it. Also, downtown Eureka was pretty sketchy around dusk. We ended up leaving a day early.

Lots of space for family to spread out. All the cooking utensils you need. Great location! Easy check in. Only setback was the internet only worked in the living room.

Beautiful and welcoming home!

This home is absolutely gorgeous! Immaculately clean and elegantly decorated - every single piece of art and furniture makes you feel like you're walking back in time. Lots of thoughtful touches made our stay easy and fun and the owner was available to answer all our questions. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

My husband, Craig, and I have been married for 32 years and love Humboldt County! We met while attending Humboldt State University in the 1980s and stayed here. We have a beautiful son and daughter-in-law; we love to visit them and the rest of our family up and down the coast. Traveling also allows us to indulge in our passion for mid century furniture and decor. The 'hunt' for that iconic mid century piece is what keeps us going, and we can think nothing better than to share some of our finds with you! It's interesting how we look back in time to find the most modern way of living - look to the past to create interiors that are in the vanguard of fashion.
