We were traveling for medical reasons and found this listing and gave it a try. WOW! It was so quiet and comfortable. It's a basement unit, but we seldom heard any noise from above. The cozy area in this vintage home reminded me of grandma's kitschy basement. The theme was cute, as were the friendly squirrels in the backyard. Our stay was MUCH more satisfying than a stay in a noisy hotel. Because I was semi-incompaitated, my husband had to dash out for food and Wal-Mart. He was back in a jiffy, because this place is very conveniently located. Big thumbs up to our hosts as well!

The apartment was conveniently close to the Metro/bus station and also to a convenience store. It was in a quiet neighborhood. It was attractively decorated and included basic as well as extra amenities to make our stay more enjoyable. It had a microwave, coffee maker with coffee packets, snacks, a mini fridge, many movies to watch, brochures on St Louis, extra blankets and fresh towels provided as needed.

Safe & Cozy

This place was very comfortable and just what we needed as far as location. Great neighborhood and near everything. Tim went beyond to assist us in getting settled and we had access to everything that we needed being away from home. Thank you!

Great and Easy Stay

The property itself was well maintained. I found the decorations to be fun and unique as well! Tim and Beverly were both helpful, friendly, and accommodating. For the location, the price is also highly reasonable. I would recommend this location to friends and family if they were ever visiting St. Louis.

Great deal!

My teen and I just needed a place to chill on our two night trip to see the sights. This place is a great location if you don't want to drive in downtown St.Louis as there is a rail stop (with parking) just a couple blocks away. We rode the rail in and also used it to get around downtown. After a rainy sight seeing trip, the space was nice and cozy.

I found it to be very clean and quiet. Bed and chairs could have been more comfortable, but for the price it was reasonable. I parked around the corner on St. Vincent. I felt my car was safer there.

Was all excited for this stay in St Louis but disappointed. Not for me, the house rules are ridiculous for a single traveler this place creeped me out, Beverly is home all the time, watching you, it’s creepy and reports back to her husband, you hear everything your in there basement with all the owners personal stuff, they were doing there laundry when i arrived, knock on the door Friday at 10 pm to shut off the water heater, i was very uncomfortable they have access to the space at anytime, the decor is the owner personal stuff, clutter and dirty the bathroom gross smells, the quiet hours are untrainable considering you’re traveling to site see, and might get back late i got a threat to be evicted for having the tv on all night to help myself sleep it was too loud, it was to have background noise! The door programming lock was completely a joke so you don't lock your door, its the house door, your belongings are not Secure enough it’s weird! I have been traveling for years and have never been threatened i didn’t relax at all in this place! Would Not recommend unreasonable host! Tim and Beverly shouldn't be hosting! Good luck with these people come off nice but then….. you get threatened thank goodness i only stayed 3 days

Cozy oasis near Webster Campus

Cool clean and comfy stay. This is a single room in the basement of a single family home with its own entrance at the back of the house, off street parking right out front. Fewer than ten minutes drive to Opera Theater St. Louis’s festival playhouse.

Great stay close to WashU

We planned this visit to St. Louis for our daughter’s college graduation at WashU. Our son decided to join us, and our hosts were very understanding and accommodating about this change of plans. The hosts, Tim and Beberly, were exceedingly friendly in making sure that any needs were met. They made us feel very welcome. They added things like sweets and cold water that made it nice. Kept lots of things that travelers need. Well thought out. Wonderful hideaway in St. Louis County with central location. Great owners and very communicative people. We hope to find them here forever and we would like to come back, again. Thank you Tim and Beverly!

Beverly and Tim were great hosts! The place is super cute, clean, and comfy. Very close to dining options and touristic places. I went with my partner to ser the Eclipse, but we were also able to walk around Saint Louis and know more about the city. If we'll come back to St. Louis, we'll definitely be in touch with then again. Very happy to have stayed there :)

We chose this property for its excellent location, a very short walk from the Shrewsbury train station. Our experience with the St. Louis mass transit system was very positive. We were so happy not to rent a car! Our hosts were very accommodating, letting us leave our luggage for several hours after checking out.

We love getting to know people from all cultures, enjoy learning about their languages and love hearing accents from all over. We also love sharing the music from other countries. Beverly grew up in San Francisco, California and Tim's upbringing was in Northeastern Ohio. Our interests include photography, languages, the performing arts, canoeing, backpacking, sailing and kayaking. We currently live in Shrewsbury, MO on the edge of St. Louis city.

The property is a block or two away from the city of St. Louis, MO and a mere stone's throw from the Shrewsbury MetroLink transit station. The MetroLink is very affordable and stops at the most in-demand places, like the Arch, Busch Stadium, Central West End, Civic Center, Convention Center, Lambert International Airport, UMSL and Washington University.

Along with our interests, we love all animals, but specifically dogs. If you have a little non-yappie, house-trained, well-behaved dog, we would love to include your pet as one of our guests.

Also, our accommodations are unique with a Key West/ Caribbean theme. We are the unofficial Midwest Consulate of Key West, promoting tourism and commerce with Key West.
