The Coach House is a retreat from the outside world.
Head for the hills…and the dancing daffodils. In the expansive grounds of a 16th-century timber-framed house, this is the perfect retreat à deux. Way up a simple track, your stone-walled, stone-tiled hideaway was built almost entirely from locally reclaimed materials. Inside it's open plan and easy. Settle on the weighty leather chesterfield, toes directed at a wood-burner stacked high with logs from the nearby woods. The kitchen, of hand-crafted oak, has masses of space, a double Belfast sink and proper wooden floorboards throughout. Exposed beams frame the bright bedroom; the shower room is a step away. It would be a treat of an evening to follow the babbling brook through the ancient orchid-dotted woodland, rest awhile at the owner's perfect little treehouse (with hammocks), then retire to your own private viewpoint with its picture-postcard views across open pastures to the Teme and Kyre valleys. Venture further to foodie Ludlow, book-lined Hay-on-Wye and the grand industrial heritage that is Ironbridge. Take to the slow life on the steam railway, stride out on the Mortimer Trail, meander through forgotten Herefordshire villages. Buzzards soar overhead, rabbits scamper in the fields that surround you.
The Coach House is a studio conversion situated in the grounds of Fishpools which is a traditional 16th century timber framed house. It is reached via quarter of a mile track and is in a very rural position. Guests will enjoy a south facing private decked area with far reaching views across fields and farmland which is perfect for watching the sun go down. Leading directly from the cottage is an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways where badgers, woodpeckers, buzzards and owls may be seen. Tenbury wells,an attractive spa and market town in the Teme Valley is 4 miles away and the fine Georgian town of Ludlowis only a 25 minute drive.

Fantastic Host! This cottage is adorable. Very homey and cute. Perfect for a couples' weekend stay! The surrounding countryside is so peaceful and quiet. Highly recommended!!
Ellie had the fire burning when we got there. It was so cosy and cute! Her house is actually quite close to the coach house but that didn’t bother us as she did very well at giving us our space. We loved it!
Where to begin: very comfortable bed, full kitchen, romantic wood-burning fireplace, and we watched the sun set each afternoon off our back porch. The house is every bit as magical as it appears in the photos, and the setting is pure zen with a peaceful pond, lush lawns, and quaint huts. If I were a writer or a poet, this is where I imagine I would go for peace and inspiration. Would love to stay again if we return to the UK!
The property is truly amazing, the pictures are accurate.
I took my two dogs with the concern of sheep in one of the pictures, as I know I have chasers. The sheep and the cattle did not allow me to let them off, which for them is not how they are used to. Obviously at home we know where to avoid. As the sheep where in the next field and the grounds had other properties with people staying it wasn’t as secluded as I had hoped. This meant I wasn’t able to relax as much as I was anticipating - although on the veranda I did manage to find the solitude I was going for.
Had my dogs not been the way they are it would have been quite close to perfect.
Pictures don't do this place justice, the location and surrounding area are so quite and peaceful you wouldn't believe. Such a great place to chill and recharge the mind and body! Eleanor|(and her dog) are so lovely and welcoming, what a fantastic host. We will be coming back for definite. Tenbury Wells nice to wander around as is the Kyre Hall and Gardens up the road.
Absolutely magical place! Had a 3 night stay with our 2 dogs. Ellie our host made us feel so welcome and at home. The accommodation was enchanting, clean and well equipped. Every detail was considered.
We had a wonderful stay at the Coach House and will definitely visit again / recommend it to our friends. The cottage was sparkling clean and beautifully decorated. Eleanor, our host, has an eye for detail and an amazing sense of style. We loved all the pottery and her collection of blown glass ware. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and the quality of food served in the establishments in nearby villages is incredibly high! Thank you Eleanor for a lovely stay!
Lovely cottage designed with attention to detail. Beautiful views from all sides of the property. Ellie the owner was friendly and helpful. The cakes provided on our arrival were delicious, and we loved her young Labrador Arlo. We hope to visit again in 2022.
On arriving we were given a warm welcome and we found fresh homemade cakes for us. The cottage is a single room, but has been thoughtfully and beautifully finished, lots of artistic touches and high standard of quality. Lovely exposed beams, old oak furniture, extremely well equipped kitchen, lovely atmosphere, and a massive bed. Plenty of books and local guides and maps.
The hosts are clearly keen gardeners, so large grounds/garden are lovely to explore and full of lovely plants and separate little areas.
The location is down a track off the road, and hence it is very, very, quiet. No traffic noise can be heard at all - just birds. Surrounded by agricultural crop fields and trees- some lovey local walks from the house.
Our dogs were welcome there and they loved it too!
We have just returned from our second stay at The Coach House. It really is the most charming property which is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The gardens are stunning and Ellie is an exceptional host. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Enjoyed our stay with our Labrador. Beautiful views to relax with a glass of wine after day walking. Nice walks at location and nearby. The pubs were also wonderful with nice options. The coach house was comfy and we'll appointed. The gardens are beautiful. Great week away
The property is absolutely great! It’s spacious, with a well-outfitted kitchen and stunning country views in all directions. Ellie was an excellent host who was responsive to any and all concerns we had and we can’t wait to go back!
