Low-Key Paradise Steps from the Beach

One of the last authentic, old-school surf baches in the bay being rented out for the first time. Don’t expect many frills except the sound of crashing waves, views of Gorilla Rock, massive pohutukawas, and a 1-minute walk to the water’s edge. Property is one section back from the beach, but few even know it’s here, tucked against the hill.

Inside, you’ve got a compact but complete kitchen, powder room, open living space with a queen-sized bed, sofa bed (folds out to a king single), one twin bunk, wireless Internet, and a desk for those who need to sneak in a bit of work.

Outside you have a rustic outdoor shower under giant trees, a covered deck, and enough yard for the kids to run around. Across the street from the long driveway is the reserve and public playground.

This bach will suit a low-maintenance couple or small family who just want to enjoy the beach. Pets allowed, but the yard is not fenced and kiwis live in the area. Please bring your own linens and towels.

Cute little bach in a great location.

Really cute little basic bach, quiet and tucked behind the other baches but still only a very short stroll to the beach. Plenty of room for kids to run around. Would love to stay again.

Beautiful Spot

Only a stones throw from the beach and tucked up in the trees this basic Bach is the place to escape it all. Very private with a lovely garden of palms and fruiting vines. It's a one room Bach but has everything you need, has a good deck and lawn for lying about and relaxing. So close to the beach and playground you don't have to lug any gear. We loved our stay.

Loved our stay but note what we felt needs attention outside shower floor unstable it moved around and slippery step from kitchen to dining room kitchen draws very hard to open & close, need adjusting bunk needs a ladder/step to get up to

Perfection

We absolutely loved our stay at this perfect old school surfers bach. We spent 3 nights here and loved everything about it. Tucked away and just a minute from the beach, beautiful scenic setting, morning greetings from Mum and baby quails, resident bunnies, henny penny the hen strolling around. Amazing sleeps with the subtle sound of waves in the background. Plenty of good books and loads of lovely touches from a bygone era. We are extremely grateful that shared your little piece of paradise with us and are already looking at dates to come back. Perfection thank you.
