Modern country chic amongst the vines in the Hunter Valley
Bonvilla Estate offers 5 bedrooms sleeping up to 10 guests, the perfect Hunter escape for friends and family. We’ve lovingly created a welcoming villa set on 100 acres in the middle of the beautiful Hunter Valley that has space for everyone to come together and relax. Upstairs is a gorgeous modern country dining table with seating for 12, perfect for brunch, a long lazy lunch, and an elegant dinner in the evenings. Downstairs is another living area with solid timber dining table which opening out onto manicured lawn, BBque and picnic spots. Located close to Mount Pleasant Wines, Drayton Wines, Ivanhoe Wines, Usher Tinkler wines and Baume restaurant. Enjoy the sunrise over the Shiraz vines and keep a look out for the hot air balloons in the distance. Enjoy your morning coffee on the verandah and see how many different birds you can spot. Our resident family of kangaroos is always welcoming. Wander the property at your leisure, sit by the dam with a good book, or maybe try and catch a yabby or 2! If you’re looking for a luxe base to explore wine country, Bonvilla will meet your expectations. Lazy afternoons on the deck looking over the vineyards with a glass of wine are a great way to wind down. A private wine tasting for all guests is included, and private catering can be arranged. (Please note, the villa is located on a working vineyard with a Cellar Door, which we feel is part of the attraction when visiting the wine county.)

The views were fabulous. Great to be so close to a cellar door. The set up worked well for a group of 10 though an extra toilet would have been beneficial. Helpful food items provided to assist with cooking (eg oil, tomato sauce, cling wrap etc). Very relaxing spot.

Hi Mike, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We love the property and it's proximity to other venues.
Hope to welcome you back in the future when our cellar door is open. We are due to open early July.
Kind regards
Team Bonvilla
We stayed here for a wedding close by and we could not speak more highly of Bonvilla! Clean, comfortable with spectacular vineyard views (and a lovely tree swing down the road!). We were a large group visiting and we felt we had lots of space to relax. The added complimentary tasting was a highlight and the staff were lovely.
We absolutely loved staying at this winery! Waking up overlooking the vines made us feel like we were in Europe! The hosts were extremely accomodating, the house was tidy and had plenty of room. I have absolutely no complaints.
I recently stayed at Bonvilla with my family. The house is stunning, plenty of room and you can’t beat the view of the vineyards. The manager was very accommodating, was a wonderful stay! I will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed our stay. Perfect place for our group of 8. Separate areas to escape and enjoy our different interests. Beds were heavenly comfortable. We enjoyed the french country charm of the decor. It was extra charming having the cellar door next door where we could slip in and sample the wonderful wines of Bonvilla in front of the cosy fire and be educated by the lovely and friendly cellar manager. We will be back!

Great location
Great location and really close to the places we wanted to see but just wasn't informed that the property where we were staying, was in the same building as the winery so others coming and going during open times. The property wasn't cleaned or presented according to our expectations either.

Hi Simone, we are sorry your stay did not meet your expectations.
Yes, the property is located on a working vineyard which, we think, adds to the experience of staying with us. And there are generally only people around between 9.30 - 5. The nights are free for our guests to enjoy the solitude the vineyard offers. And how beautiful is it to wake up in the morning overlooking the vines.
My husband and I stayed at Bonvilla for 2 nights. We were greeted by the lovely Cellar Door Manager Melissa who was extremely helpful during our stay.
The Villa is perfect for large groups such as 5 couples or family with adult children and partners.
The Cellar Door is very new and the wines are Beautiful.
You must organize a tasting during your stay along with a cheese platter to be enjoyed in such a picturesque setting.
We will be returning with our family.
Thanks Melissa & Jane

Hi Paula, it was lovely to host you and your husband and so glad you had a lovely stay, and that you like our wine.
We hope to see you in the future if only at the cellar door.
cheers
Jane the Bonvilla team.
Great Venue, Awesome Hosts and a fantastic winery.
The Vila sits above a brand new (2022) refurbished cellar door. Max, Lexi and Donald are all very welcoming and knowledgeable about their wines. We were treated to a comprehensive tasting of the many wonderful Bonvilla wines.
The accommodation is great and has a French provincial feel, naturally. There’s a lovely balcony to watch sunrise and Ballons drift over the vines. The same balcony is also great for that well deserved wine at the end of the day.
Bonvilla is located centrally to many other Hunter Valley wines and attraction. The five of us hire electric bikes from Grapemobile and we’re able to tour around easily.
Highly recommend the venue and the team of Bonvilla we will be back!

Overall comfortable stay
Mostly comfortable, but there are several things that we would like to reflect on:
1) there was an electric blackout in the first night (probably due to a defected hairdryer), we called both phone numbers provided to us and left messages, NO ONE responded. We had to look over the whole house to find the fuse box to reset the electric safety button.
2) there are no extra garbage bags, especially for the bathroom toilet paper collection. Since we are asked not to thrush toilet paper after usage, we had to put soiled paper in a very small bin with no extra bags.
3) There is no scrub/sponge for dish washing.
4) Only one hairdryer for 10 guests
We were able to get a new hairdryer the next day, but would have appreciated if someone could give us a call when we asked for help.

Hi Linda, we are sorry the power tripped out. The phone calls were received at 11.35pm & 12.30am so sorry we were asleep at the time the calls came in. We did address the issue in the morning as soon as possible. If it was the hair dryer, the power would have tripped before you had left for the wedding? Had you called us then we could have sorted this out for you while you were out.
We did try to work in with as you requested an early check to which I said you could arrive as early as you required so you had time to get ready for the wedding. We could have charged a fee or asked you to pay an extra night but but we tried to do the right thing for you.
You can flush toilet paper down the toilet so I am not sure why you thought you couldn't. We do ask that nothing other than toilet paper be flushed, which is standard no matter where you travel.
Thank you for letting us know about the garbage bags. I will ask our cleaner to leave a couple more in the future.
Thank you for visiting and hope the wedding went well.
This country cottage was cosy and perfect for 10 people. It was Very clean and spacious . The winery attached to it was an added bonus and we were able to enjoy the wine tasting and walk around the property through the vines. The location was beautiful and we loved watching the sun setting. The staff and manger were super helpful and hospitable. We definitely recommend it to everyone. Thankyou for a wonderful few days. We will be back!!
Property and Location was perfect. The home reminded us of being in a cabin far away from everything. In saying that, the location is right in the middle of everything we needed. I could not recommend this place more, especially if you are in a large group.
Both Donald and Jane were incredibly helpful and responded very quickly.
The bottles of wine they provided were also great.
10/10 :)
We really enjoyed our stay!
The bedroom layout was great for larger groups with multiple couples. The living spaces were perfect for coming together, enjoying meals and playing cards. The house is centrally located if you're doing wine tasting, and we felt so special to be able to be staying right next to some gorgeous vineyards!
Thanks again!
The owners, Allan & Jane, got the idea to purchase a vineyard after enjoying a river cruise to the vineyards around Boudreaux. This was the first vineyard they looked at and feel in love with the beauty of the property. Not only the vineyards and olive groves, but the vista this property enjoys. It is a beautiful property with lots of amazing little areas to hide away with your favourite people and enjoy a glass of your favorite wine. We hope you enjoy the property as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
Close to all the major vineyards without being right in the middle. The views are amazing and you can experience life on a working vineyard, if only for a couple of days. If you really want to immerse yourself in the working life of a vineyard, arrange a stay around harvest time and you will get to see first hand our grape picking in action. The vines are also green and full of fruit making a setting for some stunning photos. Harvest time is January to February and if you really want to have some fun, contact us to find out the date of our 'La Vendange' our pick and stomp day with music, food and of course, Bonvilla wine.
