Welcome in Le Chalet de la Croix de Bois in Serre Chevalier, made of local larch and flagstones, flooded with sun all day long and absolutely quiet! The wide bay windows of this contemporary but traditional chalet and the large terrace (27 mÂČ) will allow you to enjoy it all year long... If the weather is bad, a great fire in the fireplace will warm you in a comfortable and welcoming setting, while your children can make all the noise they want in the dormitory, without disturbing you. Living room with Mezzanine, a plasma screen TV and a Xbox (bring your games and movies!). Keep in touch with your work if needed (as little as possible!) thanks to the Wi-Fi internet connection. All mod cons: iPod/iPhone dock, Nespresso coffee machine, induction hobs. (Please note that you can rent other apartment in the chalet for 10 persons, reference 956437).

We were a party of 12....adults and children...1 - 8 years old, and thought this chalet was perfect. It had everything we needed.....great views, 5 mins from the lifts, lots of space and a fantastic room upstairs for the children....and everything we needed was there....I would highly recommend this chalet!

PropriĂ©taire sympathique, chalet trĂšs agrĂ©able, nous venons depuis trĂšs longtemps dans cette superbe station. Petit bĂ©mol sur la chambre dortoir, il me semble qu’elle serait mieux pour 4 que pour 6. Le prix des forfaits a explosĂ©, nous pensons donc pour l’annĂ©e prochaine aller dans une station moins chĂšre ( ce n’est Ă©videmment pas la faute du loueur).

TrÚs bel appartement dans chalet en excellent état, à quelques minutes seulement des pistes de Monetier ou de Villeneuve. La chambre parentale et la grande chambre des enfants sont trÚs sympa, avec télé, console, dvd, etc. Grande terrasse et places de parkings dédiées. A louer sans hésiter.

Fabulous, fully equipped chalet!

We had 8 adults and 6 kids, there was plenty of room and everything we needed for our week with you. Just need to be aware, one of the doubles is a sofa bed in with the two singles, with the 4 mezzanine beds upstairs. All said though, lovely chalet with good parking / buses to main lifts. Warm, comfortable and everything you need for a friends and family holiday! Would highly recommend.

Excellent!

We stayed at the chalet for 4 nights in July (12 adults). It was perfect for our needs, and very well presented, very much as you see in the photos. The chalet is located in a very peaceful location in a small village (no shops) just about 10km from Briancon. There is a supermarket, boulangerie etc very close (about 2km). The area is great for walking, hiking, cycling (& skiing in winter). The owner was very helpful with all our arrangements. NB: The dormitory room with 6 beds is not as spacious as we had thought - especially on the mezanine area. It was very tight for 6 adults but it be would be fine for 4. (Also the layout of the chalet would be perfect for three couples with children (where the children share the dormitory room).

IdĂ©alement situĂ© entre Salle les Alpes et MonĂȘtier les bains : Un sĂ©jour parfait... MĂȘme le soleil Ă©tait au RDV... Une vue imprenable sur les montagnes oĂč vous n'avez qu'une envie : Prendre un bon petit dĂ©jeuner et voir se lever le soleil et ĂȘtre prĂȘt pour l'apĂ©ro pour le voir se coucher. Le chalet est exceptionnel Ă  la dĂ©coration raffinĂ©e ; parfaitement fonctionnel avec des Ă©quipements au TOP. Les enfants ne sont pas oubliĂ©s : Ils bĂ©nĂ©ficient d'un "dortoir" (trĂšs grande chambre pouvant accueillir 6 personnes) avec baby foot, grand Ă©cran, Xbox, Wii, DVD etc.... un petit paradis sur terre (comme me souffle ma fille). Tout est bien pensĂ© au point de se sentir chez soi dĂšs que vous arrivez. J'y retournerai sans hĂ©siter...

Magnifique chalet, séjour parfait !

Nous avons passĂ© un merveilleux sĂ©jour dans ce chalet oĂč tout est fait pour notre bien-ĂȘtre, malgrĂ© le manque de neige de ce dĂ©but de saison. Gilles est un hĂŽte parfait qui s’est prĂ©occupĂ© de tout et nous a donnĂ© plein de bons conseils sur les nombreuses autres activitĂ©s de la vallĂ©e (les Grands Bains, le karting, le refuge NapolĂ©on, etc
) qui nous ont permis de profiter Ă  plein de notre sĂ©jour. Serre Chevalier est aussi trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e en neige de culture et nous avons skiĂ© tous les jours sur une neige trĂšs agrĂ©able. L’équipement du chalet est au top, TV dans toutes les chambres, console Xbox avec plein de jeux vidĂ©os, de DVD, et de nombreuses BD. C’est notre deuxiĂšme sĂ©jour au chalet et nous avons aussi apprĂ©ciĂ© la prĂ©sence nouvelle d’un beau babyfoot Bonzini (celui des bars !). Vivement l’annĂ©e prochaine !

Good value comfortable chalet

The chalet is in Le Freyssinet, approximately halfway between Monetier-les-bains and Villeneuve. There is a ski shuttle bus stop around 100 metres from the chalet but it is probably best to have a car if you don't want to walk uphill in skiboots! The shuttle is free for skiers and 4 euros otherwise. The chalet kitchen is well equipped with a hob, oven, fondue set, raclette machine, dishwasher and microwave. We didn't bother eating out in the evening so were pleased that there was sufficient equipment for cooking. There are small supermarkets in Villeneuve and Monetier and larger ones in Briançon (which is on the way if you are driving in from Turin). There is a good butcher by the church in Monetier where we bought a rotisserie chicken, excellent sausages, steaks and casserole beef. Beds are comfortable and the area is quiet so you'll get a good night's sleep. Top tip - you need to switch on the kitchen tap to make the dishwasher work! If you're not skiing there is a nice snowy walk along the valley floor in either direction alongside the nordic ski route. The municipal pool in Villeneuve is new, quiet, has a lovely view of the mountains and only costs 4 euros (open afternoons only). If you just want a swim rather than spa it is a much better bet than the Grand Bains in Monetier. If you're a beginner skier probably better to have lessons in Villeneuve rather than Monetier. Monetier has nursery slopes but no green runs and only a chair lift up to the blues (which could be a bit challenging for first time skiers). Having said that there were 3 beginners in our group who all had a great week. Dealing with the owner was easy and the security deposit was returned promptly. Would definitely recommend.

Trés beau chalet

Nous avons passĂ© un super sĂ©jour Ă  Serre Chevalier et dans ce beau chalet, avec toutes les commoditĂ©s. TrĂšs agrĂ©ables soirĂ©es prĂ©s de la cheminĂ©e!! Nous Ă©tions 3 familles soit 13 personnes, la piĂšce principale Ă©tant un peu juste quand nous Ă©tions Ă  13 en mĂȘme temps, car nous avons des adolescents! Je trouve juste dommage de faire payer les draps et les serviettes!

TrĂšs bel appartement spacieux bien agencĂ© avec une dĂ©coration de bon goĂ»t. Tout a Ă©tĂ© pensĂ© pour le confort des occupants, des Ă©quipements modernes dans un style montagnard ce qui donne un intĂ©rieur cosy. Le seul petit dĂ©faut est peut-ĂȘtre l'absence des lits faits Ă  l'arrivĂ©e lorsque l'on a pris la location des draps mais cela reste un dĂ©tail au vu des prestations.

Confort et convivialité assurés : parfait!

La piĂšce Ă  vivre principale est trĂšs agrĂ©able avec son salon et cheminĂ©e, coin salle Ă  manger et cuisine ouverte qui permet Ă  tous d'ĂȘtre ensemble tout en ayant chacun son espace. Les chambres sont trĂšs agrĂ©ables et les salles de bains nombreuses. La salle de jeux dortoir des enfants est parfaite pour le bonheur des petits qui s'y rĂ©fugient et des grands qui ont ainsi plus de tranquilitĂ©. Le casier Ă  ski est aussi bien pratique. Bref, un chalet beau, confortable oĂč nous avons passĂ© un excellent sĂ©jour.

Chalet haut de gamme à la portée de tous.

Nous avons louĂ© ce chalet dans le but de faire du vĂ©lo dans les Alpes. L'endroit est magnifique, le chalet est impeccable et la gestionnaire, madame Jocelyne, est parfaite. En effet, madame Jocelyne est Ă  l'Ă©coute de ses clients et elle met tout en oeuvre pour que les demandes de ces derniers soient comblĂ©s. Son accueil est chaleureux et authentique. Le chalet quant Ă  lui est localisĂ© tout prĂȘt de MonĂȘtier-les-Bains sur la route du col du Lautaret. Il y a une grande terrasse ensoleillĂ©e avec une vue sur les Parc national des Écrins.La chalet de la Croix de bois est magnifique. Toutes les commoditĂ©s sont prĂ©sentes dans la rĂ©sidence. L'aire habitable est spacieux, les chambres sont de dimension convenable. Le Wi-fi est disponible partout dans la maison. Des services de restauration, des Ă©piceries, des boutiques et des attractions de toutes sortes sont disponibles Ă  proximitĂ©. Les amateurs de montagne seront servis Ă  souhait car le parc des Ă©crins offrent une multitude de sentiers de tous les niveaux. Je recommanderai le Chalet de la croix de bois Ă  tous mes amis. Il s'agit d'une valeur sĂ»re, les modalitĂ©s de location sont simples et monsieur Bureau, le propriĂ©taire, est trĂšs accessible. Bon sĂ©jour au Chalet de la croix de bois

Nous avons passĂ© une semaine trĂšs agrĂ©able dans ce magnifique appartement dont chaque dĂ©tail a Ă©tĂ© pensĂ© pour le plaisir du vacancier. Calme, dĂ©coration soignĂ©e, confort douillet, Ă©quipements modernes et de qualitĂ©, grandes baies laissant entrer la lumiĂšre, prolongĂ©es par une trĂšs belle terrasse sans vis-Ă -vis et offrant une vue magnifique sur les montagnes. Le chalet est idĂ©alement situĂ© entre le Monetier les bains et la Salle les Alpes et proche, pour tout cycliste en quĂȘte d'ascension, de cols mythiques (Galibier, Granon, Izoard...) Why they chose this property

We always come to Serre Chevalier, even if we know many other stations in Savoie, Haute-Savoie and Hautes-Alpes. Our family settled in Fressinet and we have many friends that have chosen Serre Chevalier for their second home.
The station of Serre Chevalier is the largest and the better equipped of South Alps. No more waiting time in the aerial lifts thanks to an output unequalled in the area. 250 km of slopes and an extraordinary off-piste domain (non-professional). The sun shines almost all year long and there are breathtaking landscapes.

What makes this property unique

Our chalet, designed by a renowned architect, was conceived to enjoy the exceptional sunshine of the region at most. 9 meters of bay windows and panoramic windows in the living room allow to enjoy it all day long.
