Owner didn’t skimp on luxury-renters have been disrespectful

Beautiful home! Perfect location, decorated like a model, excellent beds and kitchen/living space! Disappointed at how prior renters have been so disrespectful to this charming home! The many dirty scuff marks on the walls and the stains on the living room rug made us feel like it may have been dirty when we arrived. However, outside of those two concerns the entire home was cleaner than any other home we have ever rented. Small details on upkeep would make a world of difference! Also would recommend more in the kitchen as it is bare bones. Not even a wine bottle opener or wine glass, foil or seasonings. Overall we would definitely book again! Thanks Carla!

Wonderful property

The condo was spacious ,clean and located close to UNC and other activities. Thanks for a great place for us to stay while visiting our son! Appreciated the quick response from owner when booking! We will be back!

Oven Didn't Work

We stayed at this condo from December 30, 2017, - January 7, 2018. Upon first inspection, it seemed fine, but definitely not luxury as advertised. Plus, there were numerous scuff marks on the walls and a nasty stain on the living room carpet. On New Year's Eve, we discovered that the oven didn't work. Having to make other plans for dinner when we already purchased groceries to stay in that night was very inconvenient. The next day I talked to the owner who said that she was made aware of the faulty oven by previous renters and that another oven was ordered and to be installed the following week. Her solution was for us to use the oven in a vacant condo, "just a few doors down". The few doors down was in reality two buildings away and 16 doors down. With outdoor temps below freezing, this was not a convenient nor practical solution, which I texted to her the next day. I also said that I felt we should receive a rental feel adjustment for our inconvience and additional money spent for meals. And why since she knew about the oven, didn't she make us aware in advance? Three days later, I still had not heard back, and sent her another text. She responded that she just recently found out about the oven, and that it was too bad we didn't use the oven in the vacant condo, which was just a few doors down. That was it, no apology at all. Very poor customer relations!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your response. I would like to help clarify the events surrounding the oven repair. I was notified by the guests checking out they were not able to utilize the oven in Bake mode but could use the Broiler and gas cooktop just fine. As the home is just 6 months new I notified the builder and was told they would work to replace this oven for us as soon as they could. I was not aware at the time that your stay would be unfortuantly impacted. When you notified me that the oven was not working I did make accommodations for you to utilize a new functioning oven in the same community a few doors down for your baking needs. I do hope that you understand that maintenance issues can come up and I did my best to make immediate accommodations for your baking concerns. We strive to offer value to all of our VRBO Customers and wish that the builder could have installed a new oven for you sooner. As of this time the oven has been replaced and the baking function has been restored to the home. I wish you the best in your future stays with VRBO and please note we do try to make all stays as wonderful as possible but small items can pop up from time to time :)

A perfect touch of home in which to retreat.

We (5 of us) spent 4 nights for a family reunion of my Mom to a daughter she gave up for adoption nearly 50 years ago. This home provided perfect spaces for cozy chats, fabulous meals, and sharing a lifetime of family stories, pictures and home movies. We were easily able to be together in the first floor with all the space and retreat to privacy upstairs in our own rooms. The condo was stocked with many unexpected extras and was exactly what we needed when we needed it! Although I had difficulty with the oven, the owner was quick to offer alternatives so not to delay our meal preparation. The location was perfect and easy to get to local shopping, dining, and entertainment. I will seek out and schedule future trips to the area around availablity of this unit!!

Nice accomodations

The unit was clean, the location was convenient, the neighborhood was quiet.

The only minor issue and it is a small one would be that the paper products such as Kleenex, paper towel, and toilet paper were almost completely gone which required a trip on the first morning to replenish those supplies.

Since our son and daughter-in-law will be in the area for the next few years we would plan to stay here again without question.
