About this property
Noctourism in 3 Bed Pt Lookout Bijou Cottage
Stradbroke Island is a small island, roughly as small as Bermuda, and located about 30 km from Brisbane. Arrive by vehicular ferry or water taxi and a bus. The island is mostly unspoiled and has beach escapism down to an art.
Book the property for a last-minute break, winter escapes and all breaks. Please note, we do not take bookings for schoolies, stag parties and the likes. The North - East facing cottage is situated in a quiet area central to all amenties Point Lookout has to offer.
A scenic walk to the point or to beaches accessed from the path near to the cottage.
Just some of the events of interest on North Stradbroke Island are:
the annual "Art and Craft on Stradbroke" featuring local artisans,
17th - 19th July the Chamber Music Festival and
the Oyster Festival later in the year,
the "Straddie Salute" in May,
Swim in the lakes and surf all year.
During the day it is time to see the migration of whales. from around May to October, from the viewing deck less than 20 metres away.
Have fun in the sun with activities like scuba diving or snorkelling to see turtles, manta rays and fish off Point Lookout.
Point Lookout has beautiful fine, white sand beaches where relaxing is the order for the day.
The cottage comfortably accommodates 4 people in the premium location that offers privacy and convenience.
On 1 level in the cottage are 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms, each with a queen – sized mattress.
Under the cottage is a laundry - garage.
There is a large front deck with an outdoor table and chairs.
There is a well-stocked kitchen that has an electric cook-top, oven, microwave, and dishwasher.
The cottage offers the exclusive use of:
+ a laundry,
+ a “smart” TV that connects to your internet device,
+ USB charger point,
+ iron/ironing board,
+ barbecue and outdoor dining furniture.
+ board games and more.
There are no noisy communal areas. This cottage caters for the holiday maker, it is not a hotel.
Smoking is not permitted.
No pets permitted.
On-site parties or group events are strictly prohibited for the consideration of neighbours.
Sit and soak up the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean from sun rise to sun set.
During the night, experience the multiple noctourism activities.
On a leisurely stroll experience the stunning view of one bay that forms "Frenchman’s Beach".
Be inspired and stroll to yet another bay that forms "Deadman’s Beach".
If inspired wander down to a patrolled beach and swim all year round. "Cylinder Beach" is patrolled by life savers and life guards, as is "Main Beach". They are always popular spots.
Explore Stradbroke Island, and swim in a choice of freshwater - tea tree lakes infused with tea tree oil and the surrounding vegetation,
have a picnic,
you could bring a tennis racquet and balls and hire a tennis court,
go dirt bike riding.
Night clubs are not big on Stradbroke.

MY IDEAS FOR A RELAXED HOLIDAY
a) Book your house sitter and pet sitter well in advance.
b) If you don’t want to use a house sitter there are other security measures for an empty house. Ask your neighbour or a friend to keep an eye on your place.
c) Car hire – book a hire car early as it is likely to be cheaper. Compare companies. Or have your car serviced before leaving home. Check insurances. RACQ may be available on the island.
d) Book your return vehicular ferry trip to find a time to suit your timetable and budget.
e) I photograph all items I may need just in case things get lost or something needs renewing.
