Wildflower Cottage; Close to downtown and beaches

The crisp, fresh décor of this Arts & Crafts cottage is as ideal on a hot summer day as it is warm and inviting on a brisk fall weekend. This unique, eco-friendly cottage was built with EnergySmart® Building Systems using advanced renewable energy technologies to create a home that is comfortable and cozy all year long.

An open layout and flexible sleeping accommodations make this cottage perfect for any size group. The main level Master Suite is convenient and accessible and includes; a full private bathroom with walk-in shower, meadow views, satellite TV, and a large closet. A full guest bathroom and Queen guest bedroom are also located on the main level of the cottage. The fully equipped kitchen, formal dining room, and cozy living room are open concept and make entertaining a group comfortable and effortless. A gas fireplace and patio door to the deck and spacious yard make this cottage a unique retreat. The lower level of the home has a generous Great Room with Queen sofa sleeper, flatscreen TV, dining/game table, full laundry room, and full guest bathroom. Two guest bedrooms on the lower level offer a Queen bed and two Twin beds, plus trundles (for a total of 4 Twin beds downstairs). 

The cottage's exceptional finishes and modern amenities include; hardwood floors, granite counters, washer/dryer, full set of linens, towels, and pool towels, 3 flat screen TVs with premium hi-def satellite, Wi-Fi and gas grill. The Wildflower Cottage is a vacation spot you‘ll want to return to again and again.

Guests of Harbor Club South Haven Resort are also welcome to take advantage of a member’s only facility and amenities while staying with at the Wildflower Cottage- including the full service concierge, private marina, clubhouse and seasonal heated outdoor pool. The pool is currently closed for the season and will open again Spring 2020 (with guarenteed availability by Memorial Day). The closest beach is a small public beach. It is just a 15 minute walk away and a little more secluded than the busy primary beaches. The Resort community is about 1 mile from downtown South Haven.

Good house, some issues

We had a great time - a group of five women. Communication was stellar. House was great. A few maintenance issues - we had two out of three toilets acting up and unable to flush. We reported more than once and although the maintenance team came out they really couldn’t fix the issues. We would stay again if plumbing resolved

Great stay in South Haven

The place was great for our family. Some essentials were missing like dishwasher detergent, and a few other items. But they did bring them right away. So quite pleased overall.

Wonderful property

Plenty of space, very clean, easy to access, great location. It was a bit pricey but was great having our whole group together in one place. There was also lots of construction but did not really bother us as they were only active during the day. There are several new houses being built. We definitely recommend and hope to go again next summer.

We loved the fire pit! Not really walking distance to pool or beach; but, not far either. No hair dryers or toiletries. We had to run out for those items. Because it was the end of the season, some things needed repair; but, we had a great time!

Great house!

We loved the floor plan and furnishings of the home. It fit our 3 family (10 people) group very well. Communication was excellent, and staff was helpful with navigating the area.

Great house and great city

We had a super time. Everything went smoothly with the house. City is quaint but so much to do there and in the surrounding area. Will definitely go back. The family that the beach was excellent.

Fantastic home with all the amenities!

Our family of 10 had a wonderful weekend get-away in this lovely cottage. The Wildflower Cottage is located just minutes from downtown South Haven, as well as from Lake Michigan. The property is very clean and very well-maintained. We were very comfortable and appreciated all the home's features. Anthony was especially helpful and friendly. We hope to come back in the summer!

Great weekend getaway in a lovely home!

We recently stayed in South Haven at this cottage. 3 couples had to get out of town for the weekend. This was a short drive out from Indianapolis. The house was perfect, and we loved the location. The house was very clean and had been supplied with more than we needed. I loved that there was so many towels and toilet paper. A lot of homes we have been to don't fully stock the house. There was an extra bedroom that we could have brought the kids but was nice to spend some time with all adults. The rental company was very helpful and helped us secure boat rentals on short notice. We went for walks down to the beach to watch the sunset (just amazing!). I hope to make a family winter weekend at this cottage soon.

worst experience

The air conditioning was not working correctly the entire week we were there. It was 79 degrees every night. We called Tuesday to let the office know. Michael came out to lower the temp, which we told him we already did. Next day, it was still 78 degress and he came back to change a filter. That night, the thermostat said, "Heat Advisory." On Friday, he called and said he was bringing an HVAC guy. After the HVAC guy left, Michael said that the system was not pulling humidity out of the house and that we should start feeling a difference now. We told him that it being Friday, we were leaving the next morning and it really didn't do us much good at this point and that we had been telling him all week about the problem. He said that there's only so much we can do, he came out and took steps and it's 90 degrees out, you have to expect it to be warm. He further said that there's a lot of people upstairs and with the all talking and body heat, it's going to be warm and that there was another house that's also at 76 degrees. With that reasoning, every public place would be warm in the summer! We were so uncomfortable in the evenings due to it being so warm and humid in the living area. He stood there and argued with us, not giving an inch. As if that weren't enough, there was one pot and one medium frying pan - for a place that rents to 10-12 people We went to grill and there were no grilling utensils. When we went to kill flies that were swarming outside from the filled dumpsters, no fly swatter. We called the office and they told us that the contract does state that they only provide the basic necessities. Terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The area offers amazing views of autumn foliage, terrific winter snowmobiling, sledding, skiing and colorful spring festivals there is always something fun to do every season of the year.

And because South Haven is so easy to get to from Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Ohio and even St. Louis it is the perfect family vacation spot.
