Taumata Maruapo - Resting Place of Dreams
Welcome to Taumata Maruapo (Resting Place of Dreams).
A large 1990's build family holiday home that holds a special place in the hearts of those who stay from a night to a week. A peaceful sanctuary nestled in amongst 50 hectares of sub-alpine beech forest. A two-storey wooden home with a covered wrap-around verandah on three sides.
Two bathrooms - upstairs toilet and shower, and downstairs toilet and bath. Open chimney log burner which heats the entire space and firewood supplied for those cold winter nights and for keeping the family warm. Washing machine, dryer, microwave, oven/stove, hot-water, and clean fresh and filtered alpine rainwater for the house's water supply.
The property is forest-clad, surrounded by sub-alpine native beech forest, with wonderful bird life and adjacent to Nelson Lakes National Park (and Lake Rotoiti) and significant conservation and recreation areas. A private and easily accessible creek (via two walking tracks) is located just 50m from the house for quiet reflection or a VERY crisp dip (for those brave enough!!).
Located 7km from St Arnaud Village (and Lake Rotoiti - Kerr Bay), 50 minutes to Nelson, one hour to Blenheim, 25 minutes to Rainbow Valley Skifield.
PLEASE NOTE: Linen is NOT provided, and you are expected to clean the property before your departure
Extra's: Cleaning (Optional, NZ$120 per stay,) NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels)
