Absolutely wonderful location. Property is clean and well kept. Warm rooms and comfortable furniture round out a well-spent day. Great communication from our host, this stay was a pleasure and would not hesitate to recommend it. Mind the stairs, after a long of walking around the castles and the hills of Edinburgh, the 3 flights of steps can be a challenge!

A lovely property right on the Royal Mile. We had views of the Mile from one side of the unit - yet the sleeping quarters which were on the other side of the unit were extremely quiet. It was a perfect location for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Overall good accommodations for 3 women. Great location. Some things that ppl should be aware of;-no hair dryers provided -seating in living area limited -apartment extremely warm at night - the very tight concrete steps difficult to navigate with luggage - unfortunately the steps difficult for me personally with my asthma -kitchen stocked with what’s needed. Suggest something other than French Press for coffee when there’s more than 2 pplWould recommend for younger guests.

Wonderful stay!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the apartment- prime location directly on the Royal Mile, easy access to many major attractions, spacious layout, and responsive host. The entry stairs are an adventure but easy to manage for those without mobility issues. Highly recommend!

Rent this for the location

The location was perfect, right on the Royal mile a block from the castle entrance. Comments from others about the stairway are true; if you have a full sized suitcase or physical challenges don’t rent this one, go for the first floor.

This place is great, with one major factor to consider. It’s right at the top of the Royal Mile, so many of the things you go to Edinburgh to see and do are right outside your door. The castle is about a 10-minute walk. Victoria Street, which inspired Diagon Alley, is a 5-minute walk. Princes Street and the Balmoral are a 10- to 15-minute walk. The rental itself is very nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms are good-sized and well-appointed, as is the kitchen/living room, which looks right down on the Royal Mile.The host was extremely communicative and cooperative. The day before we arrived, we asked if we could access the rental early. I called him, he called me back in about 5 minutes and we were able to get in early. Really a model for how this should work.The only downside factor to consider is the staircase. The rental is on the fourth floor (floor 3 in Europe) and the staircase is a tight spiral. That’s just consistent with what you’re going to find if you want to stay this close to the good stuff in Europe, in my experience, so it didn’t bother us much. If that makes a difference to you, it’s something to consider. Overall, though, this place was really excellent.

It was a fantastic location to stay for the Edinburgh festival. The check in process was easy. The apartment was clean and tidy. The living/kitchen area was great to relax at the end of the day. The only tricky bit is the spiral staircase which did not have a hand rail all the way to the top.

Short break in Edinburgh

Perfect location in Lawnmarket: close to all the sites! Walking distance from the station too. Good for two couples, with two beds and baths. Really needed some more cutlery and mugs…but that’s the only thing really!

Perfect location. Finding it is like a quest

Perfect location just steps from the castle on the Royal Mile. Plenty of pubs and restaurants within feet of entrance. Finding the place and the 3 flight spiral staircase is challenging with luggage. Well appointed. Very nice bathrooms.

This apartment was very much in keeping with the Old Town Edinburgh atmosphere. It gave us easy access to all of the sights we wanted to see. Our youngest family member was sure we had arrived in Hogwarts as we went up the winding staircase for the first time!

Wow!

Stayed with family (all adults) and we couldn’t believe how close we were to the castle and that we looked out over the Royal Mile. Location was perfect, check in instructions top notch. And accommodations were perfect for our needs. The stairs were a slight problem for my mom (age 78) which meant up once and down once each day. Love our visit, can’t wait to return.

Loved the apartment-it felt like home every time you entered from the amazing winding staircase. Check in process was easy,directions given spot on,communications with Paul immediate and friendly. The location was perfect as we stayed during the Festival and we were right on the Royal Mile,with everything and easy walk away.

Great stay in the perfect location, just steps from Edinburgh Castle. The owner sent very detailed and helpful instructions on finding the flat (the entrance is down a small narrow close off the main street (alley). We had no problems finding it and letting ourselves in. As others have mentioned, this unit is on the 3rd floor and has a narrow spiral stone staircase leading to it. This may be an issue with heavy luggage, but we managed just fine. Zero issues with noise, both bedrooms are located away from the main street and the double glazed windows really help. The washer in the kitchen was a big plus. Having two bathrooms was also very nice. Beds were comfortable. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
