About this property

Quiet and peaceful yet walk to Charming Downtown MT. Dora

This unique property is at the end of E. 5th Ave in a quiet neighborhood with a conservation area on one side and Lake in the back. It is in a quiet neighborhood yet walking distance to Mt. Dora with all of its quaint shops, restaurants and activities. There is always something going on in Mt. Dora and you can get a complete list of activities by googling Mt. Dora on the internet. The property is .8 miles to Downtown Donnelly Park
The Uptown Nature Retreat is accessed on the left side of the house next to the Conservation area with lots of butterflies and birds. As you walk into the house you are in the living room with dining area and access to the screened in back porch. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of counter space and a counter seating area for dining. The livIng room has a large screen TV with a DVD, Netflix and Amazon Prime. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, full bath and a sitting area with TV. A second bedroom has twin beds and it’s own full bath with shower and separate door to the outside.
The large back porch overlooks a huge fenced in yard overlooking Lake Franklin and is a great place to relax in the morning with a cup of tea or coffee or have a cocktail in the afternoon. The house is shaded by large oak trees that keep the house cool and comfy. A washer and dryer is also available for your use.
Lake Franklin is a private lake and a Great Lake to fish or canoe or kayak in. I don’t have kayaks at this time but feel free to bring your own.
We love pets that are well behaved and house trained and charge 25$ per pet per stay.

We had a great stay! Great host, house was as described. Clean, comfortable beds, nicely equipped kitchen and a good amount of space for 4. Yard and landscaping is very nice, as is the screened porch.

We did not realize this property was a duplex. There was no privacy outside the home. Also, there was dog feces in the yard even though the owner had a note on the fridge to pick up after your pet. Also, there was NO mention of the 35 degree incline walking to downtown.

First of all, Jaime is an awesome host. This is our second time staying here. It is located in a quiet area. The place is always so clean and welcoming. We had a very relaxing time. We really liked sitting at the dining room table while eating breakfast and watching the many different birds.

Amazing stay

This stay was amazing! My boyfriend and I stayed at junes home and it was so peaceful and beautiful, she was very sweet and helpful. We brought our 3 dogs on this trip and they loved the backyard very big! Looking forward to coming back again for our next visit!

Our new favorite place to stay in Mt. Dora

This property is lovely, both inside and outside. We loved sitting on the back porch and watching all of the wildlife. It was close enough to town to walk, but we enjoyed taking the free shuttle ride too. We plan to come stay again very soon!

I am retired and moved to Florida full time in January 2020. I am an avid gardener and you will see many gardens on the property with butterflies and hummingbirds sipping nectar. I now live in the front unit of the duplex so I am on hand if you have any questions or issues.

Why they chose this property

I loved the location of this property. I wanted to be able to walk to downtown for all of the festivals, shopping and restaurants. Mt. Dora is an adorable small town with lots of charm. I had the back yard behind the fence cleared of brush and grass to have a view of the lake with so much nature right in the back yard.
