The cabin has the most awesome view of the mountains. The pictures do not do the cabin justice. It is beautifully decorated and rustic. I would highly recommend.
This cottage is lovely. It is perched on the side of the mountain with absolutely knock-out views. The hot tub was wonderful, easy to use and such an additional bonus! We highly recommend renting this place and will come back in the future!
The Riekes have a beautiful gem here. We couldn't have wished into existence a better location to unwind & rejuvenate after a long, busy work year. The view (especially from the spa) is enough to tempt you from leaving that spot. There's a vast amount of sights to see & mountain activities to do within an hour. Downtown Spruce Pine is adorable & we'll be happy to visit there again. We recommend Hefs Restaurant, Western Sizzlin & the Switzerland Cafe. Lots of antique shops to visit! Make sure to purchase tickets for Grandfather Mountain ahead of time & early in the day. We are grateful to have booked the Rieke Retreat & are already talking about when we can get away to come back! Inside the house is just as captivating as the outside. The history, the thought put into every little thing, puts you right at ease & is easy to feel like home away from home. I would recommend, even though vacation usually means sleeping in, to wake up atleast once to view the sunrise. Its the most beautiful thing.Thank you Peter & Tonya for opening your paradise up to us!
This property was absolutely beautiful. Was the perfect getaway weekend stay for my wife and I. Enjoyed so much we want to come back in the fall. The small town feel was amazing and the home was everything we wanted and needed in a place. Absolutely gorgeous and 5 stars across the board.
We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint, well-kept mountain property. It’s an ideal spot for a quiet getaway, with beautiful views and a peaceful setting. The property is very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and everything you need to prepare meals. The rooms are a nice size, and the beds were very comfortable.Since this property is truly in the mountains, be prepared for some rugged roads and sharp turns. The owner provided excellent, detailed directions, which made finding the cabin easy. While there are local stores, including Walmart, we highly recommend arriving with the groceries and essentials you’ll need. Our only minor issue was that the futon-style couches weren’t especially comfortable, but there are three nice lounge chairs in the living room that provide comfortable alternatives.Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a quiet mountain getaway with wonderful views.
The veiw was amazing. Feels warm and cozy. Really quiet and private. My girlfriend and I absolutely enjoyed the property. Would definitely visit again.
Cabin was beautiful inside and out! Peter was attentive and responded to my texts instantly I never had to worry about anything. Cannot recommend enough!

Very nice stay, nice property in a very private spot. Stayed there with my 3 kids and they had a bless doing campfires, hiking & discovering the woods. Will come back any time!
