GREAT VALUE!! SPECIAL OFFERS - LATE AVAILABILITY ... June 2nd to 5th ... June 10th to 13th .... 3 nights for £330, including cleaning fee. We deep clean the lodge between visits and entry to the site and lodge is contactless.
The Lake District is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site! An incredible place!!
Visit Badger's Way if you want a holiday to remember! Our lodge provides guests with the opportunity to enjoy watching badgers at close proximity - a few inches away on the other side of the French windows!! Magical evenings - great for families!'Badger's Way' is a modern, privately owned, two bedroom lodge, situated at Limefitt, a 5 star countryside park, nestling quietly in the fells near Lake Windermere, yet not far from the bustling towns of Ambleside and Bowness.
The lodge will comfortably accommodate up to four people and an infant but unfortunately we cannot accept dogs or pets, due to family allergies.Badger watching is our speciality! Peanuts can be put out on the floodlit verandah and the nightly escapades of the badgers are truly awesome! Both adults and children have spoken about the excitement and privilege of watching these lovely creatures.
The lodge is an ideal base for nature lovers, walkers, families and those who simply want to relax and soak up the beautiful scenery here. At the end of the day, nothing can beat an evening sitting on the verandah, with a glass of wine perhaps, relaxing, listening to the beck nearby and watching the stars!
The Lodge is modern, light and spacious with everything you could possibly need, for a stay in the heart of the English Lake District. From our large windows, there are beautiful views of the Troutbeck Valley and surrounding fells.
Accommodation - the lodge is fully double glazed and centrally heated throughout, making it a cosy retreat at all times of the year. There is a a large, wall mounted TV, plus DVD and CD players and the three seater, leather sofa and large arm chairs are extremely comfortable! The modern fireplace and attractive,... contemporary dining furniture are complemented by matching side tables, large coffee table and a well stocked bookcase. We also have a range of walking guides, maps, DVDs, CDs and games, for both children and adults.
The kitchen is fully equipped with double oven, grill and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, plenty of crockery, cutlery, utensils etc, iron, board and vacuum cleaner. There is also a very useful cupboard with hooks and shelves for coats, bags and boots.
The master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, shelving, drawers, a dressing table and lights above the bed. The en-suite has a walk in shower, hand basin, toilet, shaving point and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2 has two full sized single beds, wardrobe, drawers, cupboards and lights above each bed.
A separate main bathroom consists of bath with power shower, hand basin, toilet, shaver point and heated towel rail.
Verandah - From the lounge, French windows lead onto the sunny decking, which is south facing. Flowers, garden furniture and lovely views make it an ideal place for everyone to relax. Young children can play safely too, as the decking is completely enclosed. At the side of the decking, there is a small garden with a BBQ area and our own parking.
Families are most welcome at the lodge and there is a fantastic adventure playground, a special picnic area and also a shallow river pool, together with a large playing field, Lakeland pub, shop and laundrette. Many beautiful walks begin straight from the door of our lodge and you can enjoy cycling, forest trails, bird watching, fishing and so much more.
Wildlife - A variety of woodland birds visit our bird table, whilst buzzards often circle above. Deer, red and grey squirrels, foxes, sheep and ducks may be seen but our favourite visitors are, of course, the badgers!
Limefitt provides a WiFi connection, free of charge but we have our own free dedicated WiFi
Our 'prime' position within the park, the incredible beauty and attractions of the Lake District, together with the abundance of wildlife, will make a visit to Badger's Way unforgettable!
Please see our website for more information. We would love to hear from you! Minimum stay is three nights.

About the host
Hosted by Alan and Judy Coates
We live in Manchester, have been retired for a while now and have been married for nearly fifty years. Judy was born in Barrow and spent many happy holidays visiting the Lake District with her family.
We have both enjoyed bringing our own children here and more recently our grandchildren. Our grandchildren like nothing more than a long walk with Grandad and a peek at the badgers!

Why they chose this property
Limefitt is in a quiet, unspoilt area, with beautiful views of the Troutbeck Valley and yet it is close to the local bustling towns of Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside.
The minute we saw our first holiday home at this spot on Limefitt, we fell in love with it! In those days it was a caravan - now we enjoy our lovely lodge!
It is ideal for romantic breaks, activity holidays, short breaks, longer stays and is very child friendly.

What makes this property unique
This is simply a wonderful place to be! Away from the crowds, walks directly from the lodge door, good local hostelries, a children's park, safe river pool and picnic area .... all this without getting into the car!
The views from the lodge are lovely and the nightly visits from the badgers make this a place we will always love. Our guests cannot believe the close up views they get of the badgers and are amazed by their antics! Do visit our website to read some of our guests reviews.
