Charming, comfy cottage in a laidback beach town

We had such a relaxing weekend in this cozy, stylish cottage. Our pup enjoyed the huge yard, and we ate fantastic seafood thanks to our hosts’ recommendation.

Beach Bungalow Weekend

We loved our weekend stay at this adorable beach bungalow. Great location/neighborhood in walking distance to restaurants and shops, and short drive to the beach and Jonathan Dickinson State park. The house was clean and well appointed, with a fenced in yard and lovely garden. The owner was very nice and responsive. Would definitely recommend this property to other families.

Perfection found in Hobe Sound!

Wonderful stay at this adorable cottage just 5 mins from the beach! We travel a lot & I have to say, this cottage truly had everything we needed, and then some. The rental process was a breeze & the managers were friendly and responsive. We thorough enjoyed our time!

Loved our time in Hobe Sound. The house was amazing. It was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked.

The yard was amazing with beautiful plants and trees and lovely places to sit. Beds and furnishings were comfy. The kitchen was well-stocked. We loved that there were local maps and even passes to the state park nearby. We walked and rode our bikes to the ocean (about 1.5 miles I think). The neighborhood was safe and fun for walking. Great stay!!

Nice, quaint, well kept, quiet neighborhood

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Hobe Sound Bungalow. Went to get away from Midwest winter and see Cardinal baseball. 20 minute easy drive to stadium. Spent day at beach, 1 mile away. House include beach accessories - chairs mats towels. Walked to several restaurants. Owner is very accommodating.

Completely Charming

This cottage has tons to recommend it. To begin, it’s a little architectural gem; the front of the house is super-attractive. To top it off, you enter through a small front yard that is a shell garden. The interior is comfortable and nicely decorated. There’s a great back yard with an amazing tree! Walking in the neighborhood, started as planned community in the 1920s (I think), is safe and interesting. There’s some fun history to it, and it seems to be a family-friendly place. There’s a good public beach really close by at the end of a really pretty road. The owners could not be nicer or easier to deal with. I didn’t want to leave!

cool...but

very neat property. be aware the ac is iffy. you have to continually play with it to get it to stay on. also - the 3rd room with the two beds has no air. there is a fan but its not strong enough in the summer to keep it cool. great place overall and owners were very nice.

Gem!

This home is such a gem. The house itself is adorable with so many touches that we enjoyed. LOVED sunroom at entrance. We took full advantage of the outdoor shower everyday. Since only one bathroom/shower in the house, this is such a nice option so we weren’t all waiting for one shower :). Back yard is very large. Our kids chased lizards, our dog ran around… we wish we had more time to spend in it! You truly do not have to drive anywhere ! This home is in a perfect location. We walked our dog to the dog friendly beach everyday. Took about 25 minutes. It’s a very nice walk under trees, over the draw bridge. We could also walk to dinner with so many option all within walking distance. We feel so lucky to have found this breath of fresh air.

Hobe Sound cottage

The house is adorable and it is well well stocked with items that typically are not provided by a VRBO. The convenience to stores and the beach or a big plus. However, the house is located one block from the train tracks. It is very noisy. it is noisy through the night. It wakes you up the house shakes when Goes by and the mirrors and pots and other items in the house rattle when the trains go by. That is the dealbreaker for this house. If you are used to trains, and you are a very heavy sleeper, it probably wouldn’t bother you. We also had a problem with the outdoor grill even though the owners attempted to repair it, it never was fully functional or safe to use.

Totally re-modeled and great beds!

The property is in a nice, walkable area. The back yard is very pretty, a great place to sit in the evening. It is a short drive to stores and restaurants. Also a short drive away are the intracoastal waterway and the beach, along with some massive homes. The house has been remodeled with quality furniture and comfortable beds. I'll stay in a place based on the beds alone and these are the best! I don't know if the host left a bag of ice for us or it was from a previous tenant but it was very welcome on a hot arrival day. The kitchen also contained a lot of fun spices and recipe books if you're an adventurous foodie! We found games, puzzles and a variety of books. The dining table is plenty large enough if you want to attempt the 1500 piece jigsaw puzzle. The shower is roomy and the water pressure is decent. My only complaint would be the back bedroom (twin beds) gets the afternoon sun and doesn't cool down easily. I would suggest leaving on the fan and keeping the bedroom doors open until bedtime. Otherwise, it was a very sweet place and, considering the number of beds and bedrooms, a great place for family and friends to gather in an ideal location.

Lovely Retreat

Our family had a wonderful time and the host was very thoughtful. The house was cozy in all the best ways and the property and neighborhood are beautiful. We walked to the nearby cafe every morning and explored the natural reserves and beaches nearby. This Hobe Sound retreat is truly special and highly recommended.

Perfect location - great experience

My husband & I stayed here for a few nights with our 4 children (ages: 5, 3, 1 and 1 month). The location of this property was perfect! Easy walk to the beach & several restaurants & shops close by. There’s also a park a few blocks away. The owners were great & super responsive. The property had everything you could need or want!! Beach toys, chairs & umbrella, extra linens, towels, pillows, blankets, cleaning supplies, etc! Literally everything which was awesome. There were tons of lizards around, which our kids loved!! The backyard was huge & private & had beautiful landscaping! The house was decorated very cute, with tons of knickknacks, which sadly is not great for small children :) so we did have to move a few things up high but otherwise, everything was perfect!! We would book this property again!

Incredible Beach Bungalow

Can't say enough good things about this spot. Incredible beach bungalow with a giant beautiful private yard. Property is within walking distance to bars and restaurants and a quick drive to the beach. Clean and tastefully decorated with all the amenities of home and and an awesome outdoor shower to boot! Owners are super cool and responsive with great communication!

Relaxing month in Hobe sound

My husband and I had a relaxing and enjoyable month at this very nice historic home in Hobe Sound. We like to walk and we were traveling with our dog. We walked everyday under the banyan tree line street to the beach and brought our dog with us. The beach is so beautiful and our dog loved walking the beach with us and going in the crystal blue water. The home has an outdoor shower which we used all the time. The house is conveniently located near clothing and gift shops, restaurants, coffee spot and dog park.

Too short a stay

I had business meetings on Jupiter Island, and flew down with my wife, two of our children, a daughter-in-law, and grandson. The only problem of the trip was that I was in meetings too much and the stay was WAY too short. The hosting was impeccable. Perfect instructions. Very accessible if there had been any issues, which there weren't. It was a flawless stay.

Great little house

The house is so clean and well Decorated. We enjoyed it for a second time around. The beds are comfortable and it is 10 minute walk/ run to the beach. I would recommend it

Cozy cottage..

This cottage felt like home. Could not have asked for more. Owners were accommodating & friendly. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. One mile from the beach. Hope to return next year.

The Hobe Sounds bungalow is a quite and lovely home. It is spacious and beautifully decorated. 5 minutes feom the beach. We loved it and planning to return again.

Wonderful cottage

I would have given five stars for all but there was one issue that influenced my rating. I am a light sleeper. The cottage is a couple of blocks from the railroad. At night, several freight trains pass through town blaring their whistle. If you are a sound sleeper...no problem. Otherwise the place is wonderful.

Fabulous and cute old "historic" home well equiped and thought out

We loved our stay at this old Hobe Sound home with a little history. Quiet neighborhood in excellent location. Home itself was freshly decorated and had many extras, far more than typical rentals. Owners were responsive though we had no issues or needs not already included. Highly recommend.
