Complete renovation with heating & AC/splits in every room. Brand new kitchen, granite counter tops, range w/oven, microwave, new tile floors, king size bed in master, twins in 2nd bedroom. Enjoy the screened in porch while using the gas grill on your large deck. Just steps to the beach! A sand wagon: 4 sand chairs & beach umbrella are provided. Hop onto the Jolley Trolley at the end of the street for a short ride to the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. And don't forget to bring your dog! Additional fee applies. Located in the desirable Mariner’s Surfside Cottages community. One off street parking space marked15 B is included & some basic supplies are provided. Please bring king size linens/twin bed linens & bath/beach towels. No long term rentals.

Another fantastic week at Sandy Pause!

We always enjoy our stay at Sandy Pause. The cottage is in the ideal location, so close to the beach and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It’s tucked away in one of the more quiet spots in Dewey Beach. We love having a screened-in porch and a deck outside to enjoy. We also appreciate the cleanliness of the unit. Karen is easy to reach if needed, and the neighbor is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wonderful dog friendly beach cottage

Wonderful dog friendly beach cottage that is just steps to the ocean. Screened porch was such a bonus, where you can smell and hear the ocean. Had a wonderful time and looking forward to retuning next year :)

Perfect Labor Day Weekend

We stayed for a long weekend and brought our elderly dog. It was a wonderful quick vacation. The property was in a perfect location and stocked with all of the essentials to make it a home away from home. Karen was an amazing host!

Cottage was beautifully decorated and so close to the beach, it was perfect for us. Owner was very responsive with questions. Was a great getaway for us and our pups who were spoiled with long daily walks on the beach.

The best time in Dewey with a great place to stay

The beach cottage was the backdrop of the perfect getaway to Dewey and Rehoboth beaches. The owner is an absolute gem to deal with and the cottage was everything I had hoped for based on other reviews and the photos provided. Can’t wait to come back next year !

Loved the cleanliness and location to the beach and restaurants. Cute beachy puppy loving cottage decor really enjoyed the screened in porch. Property manager was very accessible, loved the washer and dryer. Everything worked great! Would recommend to anyone!

Cozy Cottage

Sweet, perfect getaway. Close to the action yet quiet in the evenings. Dogs being allowed on the beach a.m. and p.m.. is a wonderful perk. I met so many nice people and their pups.

This property is exactly what you are looking for at the beach. Clean, well appointed and lovely outside area. Steps from the beach and easy walk to local restaurants. We had such a wonderful stay and we could t have been more please with the property. Karen really goes all out to make you feel welcome and the place was spotless when we arrived! Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful stay at Dewey Beach

This was our second visit to Sandy Pause, and it was great to be back! This is the perfect location for beach and restaurant access, plus you can walk down the street and hop on the Jolly Trolly for a quick trip into Rehoboth. We enjoyed the screened in porch and front deck. It’s also nice to have a dedicated parking space. We hope to return next year.

High expectations were met

We were charmed by this adorable vacation property! The entire property is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed in the kitchen. It’s a short walk to the beach and the wagon makes coming and going enjoyable. The host was responsive to my text questions. I highly recommend staying here! The location is the best you could find for a vacation in Dewey

Pleasant State at Sandy pause

My husband, stepdaughter, and I had a Pleasant stay at the cottage. It is easy access to beach, restaurant, and bars. Although we were only half a block from the bars it was surprisingly quiet on our street.

Lucky to Stay at Sandy Pause

This was our second year at the cottage. It is perfect for our family of 4. Clean, comfortable and close proximity to the beach. We feel like we are at home with all the amenities. We are already planning next year’s vacation! :)

Perfect spot in Dewey

I had a fantastic long weekend at this cottage with my dog. The location could not be better. Karen is a wonderful property manager, available promptly with plenty of helpful information. It was sublime to hear the waves crashing steps away. The cottage was just what we needed.

Sandy Pause: Golden Jubilee

We stayed for a long weekend at the beach with our two golden retrievers for the Golden Retriever Jubilee. We were immediately impressed when we arrived with all of the special touches to make the place dog friendly including dog bowels and even a treat jar on the counter. Though it’s called Sandy Pause, it could easily be Sandy Paws. Human and dog alike were happy to be only half a block from the sand! And humans were impressed by the added feature of heat pumps in each room, making the temperature very comfortable. We hope to be back!
