The space
The Hazzard Street Hacienda is a quaint 1928 remodeled bungalow with approximately 1000 sq ft with great views of downtown Asheville and killer sunsets from the front porch. Extra effort has been put into the remodel and furnishing process to help ensure your stay is comfortable.

The rental includes 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a Den/living room that also serves as a kitchenette. The listed calendar price per night is for 2 guests, with each additional guest costing $25 each/night with a maximum of four adult guests. We do love hosting families with children and are willing to accommodate a family of more than four if small children or infants are involved. Please inquire if you are in this scenario.

Other details of this beautiful space:
There is designated parking in a upper gravel drive that will easily accommodate three cars. The gravel parking area is approximately 30 feet from the front porch and your private entrance.

The front bedroom has a queen size bed with a new high end mattress and a night stand with reading light. There is also a closet and a small sitting chair in this bedroom.

The back bedroom has an antique wood bed frame with a new comfortable double mattress. It also has a night stand with a reading light and two closets.

The Living/Den area has a new sofa with chaise and a smart TVs with Roku accessibility. This room also serves the kitchenette and it has a mini fridge with a small upper freezer section. There is also a microwave, french press with grinder, electric water kettle and other essential kitchen amenities. There is no sink in the kitchenette area due to local Asheville City Short Term Rental Policies. However we will do your dishes and swap them out whenever you are ready. Please just text us when you want us to clean the dishes.

The large bathroom is at the end of the hallway which runs through the middle of the house. It has a full shower/tub which is tiled and is equipped with a hand held faucet with multiple settings. The water pressure is strong. There are custom built shelves to the right and left of the bath sink vanity allowing for plenty of room for bath supplies you might bring. There is also a larger sized medicine cabinet with mirror. The bathroom has one window letting in natural light.

The house is heated by a natural gas furnace which can be controlled by the thermostat in the hallway. Each of the three main rooms have window AC units in them allowing you to cool the house to the temperature you desire. Please note that we take the AC units out from the middle of October - May 1st. Each of the three rooms also have remote controlled ceiling fans with lights.

All of the floors in the house are natural red oak hardwood, which have been sanded and stained. The floor in the bathroom is tile.

The unit is attached to another unit but is a separate space. There is a solid core wood door with a double key deadbolt and only the owner has the key. The door is at the end of the hallway on the right before you reach the bathroom. We have placed another sound machine on the other side of the door to help ensure any noise you make is not heard or bothersome for people on the other side of the house.

Easy location and comfortable stay
Very nice, comfortable, roomy bedrooms, clean, bright bath, living room /kitchenette does have a sink, lol. We had lots of room, since it was only my sister and me. We didn’t walk anywhere from the house, but it was very close to downtown and we had no trouble finding parking in town. As everything was all set, we didn't need to contact the owner. There was pretty, local artwork and photography on the walls. I'd definitely stay there again.

Great location for a weekend to enjoy Asheville
The location of this house can't be beaten! Easy to get to the cool bars and restaurants on Coxe Avenue and the Grove Arcade, plus quick access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house had all we needed for our weekend visit, but it's an older home, and with that comes some creeks, dust, and draftiness. The kitchenette was perfect for making coffee and reheating leftovers, but note that you can't do much more than that. The host was responsive when we asked for a couple of things that had run out, which I certainly appreciated!

Why they chose this property

We love this neighborhood because it is right next to downtown Asheville but still a residential neighborhood. The proximity allows you to enjoy all of downtown life, plus it is extremely close to Tunnel Road which we call Chain Land because of all the big box stores and chain businesses. At the same time, there is a lot of public land in the neighborhood and wildlife is still present. We believe it is the best neighborhood in all of Asheville and have been living in this neighborhood for now 20 years.

What makes this property unique

The views from the front porch of downtown and the mountains are awesome, especially at Sunset. From the house it is an easy walk to downtown which we consider part of the back yard. There is almost always something happening at the main park in downtown in front of the City/County buildings and we love to wheel our kids down in a wagon to picnic and enjoy the entertainment. It also is nice to walk further up Beaucatcher Mountain, where there are more views, lots of public land to explore and to see the historic Helen's Bridge which is worth researching and checking out. This is the best neighborhood in Asheville because of the combination of views, proximity to everything, and Beaucatcher Mountain has lots of green space to explore where wildlife is still thriving.
