2020 Bach Of The Year - Gold Medal ***** The Boat Shed has been awarded the GOLD MEDAL out of just over 4000 bach's across NZ in the Bookabach 2020 Bach Of The Year awards.

This recently renovated single level four-bedroom lakefront property offers tranquil accommodation with tastefully appointed furnishings. With wonderful, elevated lakefront views set above a lush ponga tree canopy leading to one of the best trophy trout lakes in the world.

Stroll down the short private path under the beautiful ponga fern tree canopy to the flat lake edge and a sandy swimming beach. Less than 100 metres in one direction is the Stoney Point Boat Ramp, playground, picnic BBQ area, car parking; the other way is the shared lakefront pumice based Tennis Court and Walking Tracks. Use the tennis racquets to have a game, grab one of the kayaks and head out on the lake to explore or develop your paddling skills on one of the paddleboards on offer - all included in your stay!

The Boat Shed offers easy access from Spencer Road for both cars and boats for the whole family with off-street parking. All next to one of the easiest and least crowded boat ramps in Tarawera.

Once you've settled in, relax on the sun-drenched deck and enjoy the sound of native birds, the waves on the sand and the spectacular views of Mt Tarawera. Cook a pizza, roast, or coal BBQ meat in our wood-fired oven!

Inside, there are polished timber floors, and entertainers wrap around sofa, large square boat shed timber dining table with leather chairs and log fireplace create an elegant atmosphere. The open plan granite kitchen is fully equipped with quality non-stick crockery and utensils and a Nespresso Coffee Machine. Separate TV/Playroom with 60 inch HD TV, Playstation 4, DVD player and Sky TV (including sports channels) make a comfortable stay for the whole family.

Lake Tarawera is only a short 5-minute drive to the Blue and Green Lakes, 8 minutes to Lake Okareka, 15 minutes to Rotorua, 30 minutes to Lake Rotoiti, and approximately 1 hour to Tauranga, Lake Taupo, Karapiro, Hamilton and many more attractions.

Special conditions:
The Boat Shed is available for a maximum of 11 guests. To secure your holiday dates a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the rental is payable at the time of booking. The deposit will only be refunded if the house can be relet in the event of a cancellation. The balance of your rental is due 3 weeks before arrival. Please leave the house in a tidy condition. Minimum stay of 3 nights preferred.

Extras: Cleaning is required; Optional Linen - NZ$25.00 per person.

A Beautiful Spot for a Weekend Away

This house has everything you need for a wonderful weekend away with a group of friends or a large family. Stunning views, comfortable beds, kitchen with all the equipment you could need. It was perfect for 3 couples and a couple of our single friends. Would love to stay again! Highly recommend!

Slice of paradise

We loved our stay! There was room for everyone with plenty of indoor and outdoor areas both to be together and to have space away from each other. It was so well equipped and we enjoyed all the little extras provided. The spa and the pizza oven were a hit with everyone.

Girls weekend away

We had such a great weekend away! The Bach is so well equipped and is in a beautiful location. The hosts/ owners are very good at communicating and making sure everything is working as it should / we were happy.

We had a lovely stay at this property and suited 2 families well. One of the rooms is outside of the main house which was fine for us. We paid extra for linen and could of done with a few extra tea towels and dish cloths. Well equipped house with lots of utensils, cooking facilities. Bbq and spa was a hit.

Had a amazing time yet again

This is our 5th time staying and it gets better every time. We lucked the best weather. Unfortunately our reason for attending completely turned to custard and in the end only half our guests managed to stay (our end not the hosts issue) but our hosts were extremely accommodating considering we were dealing with a very different family situation. Already thinking of when we can return. Always the best time away with loved ones

Lake view paradise

Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there but thoroughly impressed with our accommodation/location. We would love to come back in the summer and make full use of the lake toys/walks etc Hope to be back one day 👍🏼
